Does Roslar’s Coffer Have a Priest of Pharasma? Does anyone know?

Okay, I have to be realistic. In a 4-man party, a Warpriest doesn't have much chance to be picked if we stick to the party composition criterius. The class is lagging behind in skill points, it needs spell buffing to be as accurate as a pure martial and it doesn't compare to a full caster spellwise. Most it can expect is getting the 4th spot, which is usually for "skilled" characters, and that's if there's not a skilled the party is in need of. This one in particular has Perception and Stealth as class skills, but that's not usually enough. When people look at the Skilled, they're looking at Trapfinding.

This said, I have to say I'm willing to tweak the character a bit if the party thinks they need so. There are things that could be done to mitigate some weaknesses. The Additional Traits feat could add Disable Device as a class skill. A Human could add an extra feat (Additional Traits) and a skill point (to put in DD) at the cost of the half-orc's bonus to saves. It's a really steep cost, but well...

Or a level of Slayer/Ranger could be added. It would delay all spellcasting and bonus feats, but a Trapper Ranger would add some skill points to cover some basics (unlock class skill bonuses for some skills in which you put at least 1 rank) and add the possibility of disarming magical traps.

Or, I don't know, maybe you guys could come with another solution I can't think of. What I'm trying to say is I want to keep the character as loyal to its core as it can be, but I understand this is a group effort and I'm willing to talk.

For the record, I'm also busy checking the applications right now as Robert asked me to provide input as well.
A very busy time IRL was picked for this to happen, but I'll make sure to give him an answer either tonight or tomorrow as soon as reasonably possible.

The best thing about war priests is the self buffs, so IMO it's not worth delaying spell casting.

If you want more skills, you can get four per level with 8 int by using the FCB for skills and taking the cunning feat. Is that worth it? Maybe. If you didn't do that you could instead use your FCB for 1/5 combat feat, and be a feat up which is what I did on Daseem.

Really though it sounds to me like in your heart you want to play the warpriest but your head is saying you should play something with trapfinding. I'd personally go with your heart when it comes to a recruitment thread, you've gotta want to play the class for the long haul.

For what it's worth, whatever the ultimate party composition might be, Farod is probably the 'skilled, including Trapfinding' character as well as the 'top tier arcane' character rolled into one.

Random musings:
--Ardran will pick up tears to wine at level 2, and also pick up versatile performance, because he is still a skald.
Thats a party wide +2 to wisdom and int skills, for caster level times 10 minutes. The underappreciated thing is that this includes perception.

--Ardran can make any knowledge skill untrained, and can thus also assist in them. He will seek to add one point to all of them. including tears to wine, he succeeds in assists at a 7+ prior to investing skill points.

--Phantom currently has her freely selectible class skill on disable device, with Faroud we have someone much better at this. She automatically levels up perception and Acrobatics, and will invest half of her meagre allotment otherwise in stealth.
Most party synergistic would likely be UMD (Ardran has that as a class skill as well though). I am open for ideas though.

If I've gotten any info wrong I apologize, please let me know and I will fix it.

@ Coral of Lastwall, my humblest apologies
@ Jereru, still a rookie? you and me both my friend.
@ Morana Lazaku, backstory is looking good
@ Farod Shamar, thanks for jumping in, the info from the PM's was helpful.

The conversation took a turn to speculation about filling roles in a four player party. I agree with FangDragon, apply with the character you want to play. I will confess, that most of the AP's I've played take six players instead of four, so it's leaves more 'wiggle' room.

The few questions I've had have been answered, I said that I would give a '24 hr notice' in the recruitment before I ended it. Let's consider this, that. If there are any questions or changes, go ahead and get them done.

We will end recruitment in twenty-four hours.

Adjusted stats a bit, less charismatic, less brawny but sturdier and more brains.

Yeah, but for what it's worth, that was not to make your lifes more complicated :)

Neither was sufficiently covered imho in the remainder of the original party and I figured covering both angles would give me a good chance.

My Phantom is totally not making big puppy eyes at your soon active ability to cast mage armor :).

I went for a similar approach, seeking to cover stealth and frontline with a side serving of face and lore.

Oh, it didn't complicate things, on the contrary, I personally had an easier time- knowing I didn't need to worry too much about a gap being filled left me free to make a character I'd have more fun with, if an 'extra role' kind of character was picked.

Howdy~
I'm going to opt out of the recruitment at this point.
Its a potential AP in a group

Have fun
