How did you get all of your stats to show up with your posts?

When you post, there is a dropdown below the dialog box where you type your post. You have to select the character (Darg) you want to post as. Then your stats should show up.

Also, here are a couple of formatting tips:

"When your character is talking, it is customary to put the dialog in bold and in quotes."

Bold is accomplished by surrounding the text that you want in bold with bracket-b:
(b)text(/b), but use [ and ] instead of ( and )

If you want to express your character's inner thoughts, put the text into italic. This is also handy if you want to list magic items or spells in italic.

Italic is accomplished with bracket-i:
(i)text(/i), again use brackets instead of parentheses.

If you want to add something that is important for the game, but is not narrative, use "out-of-character" text.

Out-of-character is accomplished using bracket-ooc:
(ooc)text(/ooc), brackets not parentheses.

You can see examples of all three of these in use in the two posts by Ryiah and Rufous.

Rainzax has linked a number of great resources in the PbP thread header. The one I'd start with is (GM Numbat's) Org Play PBP intro, to get the hang of playing and how to format your character sheet. After that, you can start researching factions/boons.

I had my first game just a couple months back, starting can be a steep learning curve. Don't hesitate to ask questions :)

If this is the only game you are playing for now, I'd recommend setting your Post As to default to Darg. You can do this through: My Account >> Account Settings >> Messageboard Settings >> Default Alias. Hope this gives you a leg up!

Pardon my nosiness, but is your character’s path liberator or redeemer, your sheet lists both?
Or perhaps our characters would know you as a redeemer until shown otherwise?

Nahh - simply didn't save when I edited the headers earlier!

Nenyath is a Redeemer - initially I was planning a Calistiran Liberator but i then changed my mind when I made them from Lastwall and had always wanted to play a Pharasman Paladin in PF1

Another noobie question, I see in some of your posts, light blue listing of skills and bonuses. Are these skills you are using to support your narative? Do you roll them yourself of does the GM do all of the rolling in secret and provide a narrative of the results?

Some checks are made in secret by the GM. Often these will be called for by the GM, which was the case with the checks you are talking about.

If you see THIS POST by the GM, you can see that he is asking for modifiers to Society so that he can make a secret roll.

The reason for this is because there is a chance of incorrect information being given on a critical failure. The roll is made in secret so that we won't know whether the information is correct or incorrect.

Most skill checks, by contrast, will be made by us.

Also, the light blue text is called "out-of-character" text and is done by using bracket-ooc formatting. (See the helpful button: "How to format your text [ Show ]" at the bottom of the page.)

@Neymath, thanks, I’ll be curious to see how your “Glimpse of Redemption” plays out. “Liberating step” has worked out better than I’d hoped but I really chose the alignment more than the feats for my first character.

Thanks. No, not that I'm aware of.

Mostly, I just make liberal use of bold text and spoilers.

The horizontal lines are made of special unicode symbols (as are some of the other special characters I use), and the smallcaps text is just the [smaller] formatting code with text in all caps.

I also like to put in [url]'s because it allows me to quickly reference rules.

Edit: I just looked at your sheet, and it is also nicely laid out and well organized. :)

To answer your question though: Anything you purchase with your own gold stays with you from adventure to adventure until you consume it (if consumable) or break/destroy/resell it.

Network items - such as Minor healing potions "from your lodge" - are somewhat abstracted, and do not "roll over" between adventures. Basically, they are consumables (Alchemical tools, bombs, potions, scrolls, talismans, etc) you borrow from your lodge for "break in case of emergency" and return it to your lodge if you didn't use it. This decouples it somewhat from the "consumable scarcity" mentality which causes players to hoard consumables rather than using them. If that makes sense?

Don't have any of the other stuff. I guess the closest weird thing Darg has is a small paper lantern that he got as a result of the Spirit Road, but that is it.

As far as schools I do the one where you dont get anything but you get extra days for downtime.

Darg, the "extra days downtime" is called Field Agent.

Folks, looking ahead to traveling in the Gravelands, do we want to go to GoldenFlame with a Follow the Expert for Avoid Notice?

Brayka . . . wasn't built for stealth. The riding dog has a better (if still untrained) stealth score ;). If that won't work, I'm up for Scouting per my character bar.

Might also want to Cover our Tracks if anyone has Survival?

I don't think we even bother with Stealth. None of our party are going to be great at it.

Scout, Cover our Tracks, and Search are probably all good ideas.

It looks like if we are Avoiding Notice we can't do any other exploration activities. If that's the case, then I think it makes more sense to split up the activities like Red suggested. Ryiah's default exploration activity is investigate, but if the party thinks search makes more sense, she can do that instead.

Darg is an expert at Perception, not sure if that is what is used for search or not. He also has a decent stealth (+6) but no nature or survival. Can we do more than one activity or if we cover our tracks or avoid detection that means everyone is doing that and no one is searching?
