@Vulpina, this provokes an AoO from you (the running away, not blowing the kiss).
You say that, but...
Vulpina's blade lashes out again--
Stabby: 1d20 + 11 - 2 ⇒ (15) + 11 - 2 = 24

She is after Drixel like a shot, running with impressive grace for having had her legs poked a bunch.
"I will have you know I was the swiftest in my boarding school, dear," she grins. "Unless you wish to see how far you can run while bleeding out, I recommend returning the pilfered prize!"

Loam starts eking her way around the spiky growths. Nothing better to do when she's this low on power and patience.
Unless that save doesn't make it, in which case I'm back at the top of the yellow area.

GM Hawthwile |

@Doran - um, that's Sadaf between you and Makras...

@Sadaf - FYI, Pushing an animal companion is a Move action for a druid. This means you'll have to use your Standard action from this round and then your Standard action from the next round to finish casting the summon spell.
Danduun tries to slip past Abrelin, but the dwarf is ready and bonks the dinosaur's snout with his hammer.

Luckily the tap is more of a warning than a threat. Danduun and Korum hit him back, but the dwarf merely winces from the blows.
Meanwhile, Vulpina's dance partner slips away from her again. "How rude of me," he quips, saluting her with the stolen rod, "to leave you without a farewell gift. Ah well - better late than never!" Pulling a small bag from his belt, he tosses it at the swashbuckler's legs.
Drixel Tanglefoot bag vs Vulpina Touch AC 16: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19
Vulpina feels a sense of deja vu as the sticky resin coats her legs and arms. @Vulpina, please make a Reflex save (DC 15) right away to avoid being stuck to the floor in addition to being entangled. Again.
Abrelin, meanwhile, slams his shield into Danduun in an effort to push the dinosaur back again before following up with several strikes of his warhammer.

In the effort of swinging his hammer and shield with such speed, the dwarf doesn't have the momentum to knock his dinosaur prey back again. Danduun stands bleeding heavily, but he remains on his feet!

@Korum, what's the Reflex save for?
Doran tries to get a word in edgewise, but can't find space in the crowded tunnel to get close to Abrelin. Korum tries to stab the dwarf again, but Danduun jostles the weapon's haft and the blade merely scrapes across Abrelin's breastplate. Loam likewise struggles to find an opening, settling for a warning shot over the dwarf's head. Sadaf's allies claw and bite at the surrounded Abrelin, though only a few lucky talons find cracks in his armor.
Vulpina is getting excellent practice at preventing herself from getting stuck to the ground, but only her bullet finds its mark in Drixel's shoulder. The noble withdraws, blowing her another kiss as he rounds the corner. "Don't worry dear, I'm sure we'll find each other up top - that's what you said, right?" he calls back mockingly.
Abrelin, meanwhile, swings his hammer at the pesky bird behind him...

Danduun latches onto Abrelin's arm and tears angrily, knocking Korum's weapon aside again. Before the paladin can respond though, a thundering CRACK! breaks through the sound of combat. The dwarf stands still for a moment, then looks down at the hole in his breastplate and the blood pouring out of it. "Shi-" is all he can manage to say before he falls to the ground.

Unfortunately, he clipped it to his belt so he could keep his rapier in one hand and toss the tanglefoot bag with the other. Sorry to squash your dreams of shooting it out of his hand. XD
@Doran, we can either triple-move you eastwards (towards Vulpina) or double-move you southwards (towards Abrelin's fallen body). Since Abrelin was conscious until this turn, Doran wouldn't be able to use more than one turn's worth of actions to move in that direction.

The Pathfinders patch up Makras enough to get him out of the petrified roots and Doran enough for the warrior to walk without limping. As they exit the Shining Deep, a shadow pulls away from the cavern wall before revealing itself to be Captain Talbren of the Duskwardens.
"You're back," she whispers with a smile faintly illuminated by the charm around her neck, "and in one piece. And without having to call for aid - you have my respect." She folds one arm against her chest before beckoning into the darkness. "Come, let's get you back topside."
---------------------------------
"I am quite glad to hear that this disturbance has been resolved." Horus Ilaktya steeples his long pale fingers and smiles at the Pathfinders standing around the lobby of the Last Rites the following morning. "But if I may ask, what exactly did you find down there?"
What do you do?

![]() |

Quick question. Does Drixel have greater than a 30' movement? Spring Attack with a withdraw is a full-round action, so no double move. Even if Korum is denied an AoO, couldn't he (and Dandunn) still follow and take his normal move and attack? Or is it one of those situations where if they make it off the map that they just disappear? I just hate the idea of him getting away.

Danduun |

GM, Danduun is going to follow and surely has the speed to keep up with the man. No chance that he can prevent an escape?
Danduun moves to catch up and makes a claw attack.

I don't have the map, and quite frankly he doesn't matter in the larger scheme of things. If it's a matter of personal pride, you're free to imagine whatever you want. XD

Makras responds to Horus' question. "What'd we find? Well, blood and thunder, of course! Nasty giants, a nasty dwarf (not as nasty as me!), some fancy-pants fella, and a cave. Hey, you got any ale on ya?"

![]() |

Loam isn't surprised to see Makras miss the object of their search in an otherwise detailed list. "We also came across another unsavory pair, humans this time," she adds. "We couldn't get much information out of them, but they knew you sent us. Likely our culprits. They wouldn't happen to sound familiar?" She rattles off a quick description of the pair's appearance.

![]() |

Sadaf looks at the team and scratches his head.
”But did we find out why these earthquakes were destroying buildings up here?! I am really not sure!“

GM Hawthwile |

Horus waves a hand. "No matter - you have proven yourselves quite competent. It seems the Pathfinders do indeed live up to their reputation." He nods before continuing, "I look forward to working with you all - and your organization - again in the future. I will send my regards to your venture-captain."
And that's a wrap, folks!

![]() |

"I would certainly not object to either," says the Lady Vulpina, chin held high. "It feels as if this day went on for months!"
