If a creature makes a move like that to target Myth, it must either hate Elves or hate archers. GM, do I need to make a Will save vs Confusion before posting my attack? Sorry, I'm a bit confused myself...

![]() |

Confused creatures attack anyone who attacks them. This may have been a slight miscalculation on my part!
Is there a knowledge check for the little ones?
Floria was trying to concentrate on the spell when the creatures attacked. The delicate nature of psychic spells make them very hard to maintain, and Floria is not the most disciplined of casters.
Damage DC 10+7+3+10=30: 1d20 + 6 + 6 - 2 ⇒ (14) + 6 + 6 - 2 = 24
The spell has a duration of concentration, which means I think she needs to make the concentration check for the damage, and psychic spells with a thought component have a DC 10 higher unless you take a move action to centre yourself. So if I understand correctly the spell ends at the start of her turn
In grave danger from the new attackers and cut off from most of the pathfinders, Floria has to try hard to avoid letting her dark half overcome her. She needs to concentrate now though. She centres herself, a difficult task given the dangerous creatures next to her, and the carefully and defensively casts a spell.
Concentration DC 19, combat casting: 1d20 + 6 + 6 + 4 - 2 ⇒ (14) + 6 + 6 + 4 - 2 = 28
CL vs. SR: 1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 6 + 2 = 15
She targets the Slaugrak once again, finding the pain receptors in its mind and turning them all to on. She takes a step away at the same time.
She's casting Inflict Pain. DC 19 will save to reduce the effect to 1 round from 6

Oh, my bad...sorry, been a long day and I totally misread that; I thought the creature was targeting Myth with a confusion look/spell like some creature have...but it seems that spell confused me as well as the creature...

"Aack!" That big evil lizard dude is totally blocking the whole hallway, and Pai can't do a thing about it! Oh, and he's right up in her face, but she's flying, and she's still new to it and all, so she's not so sure she can scoot back and avoid getting hit and all. Ugh! WhatdoIdo?! As she grasps for an idea, the sound of her teammates' retching and sickened gulps reaches her ears. "Oh! I know! Man, I hope this helps!" Glaring at the big, stinky, ugly lizard invading her personal space, Pai activates her Air Shroud spell-like ability, sharing it with everyone in the party.
And then, Fiiiinnnne! she draws her dinky little cold iron dagger. Laaaammmme.
This gives the effect of Air Bubble for 6 minutes for everyone else (she takes 1 point of Burn to do so), and constantly for Pai. Since her Constitution modifier is 5 with her Belt of Mighty Con, everyone gets it. Hopefully it'll keep out the stinky gasses.

GM, for your status tracker please note Jamir is only down -5 hp, not -13, after taking his potion of CMW last round.
"Ha HA!" Jamir's booming (if somewhat queasy) laugh echoes down the corridor. "Another reptilian rapscallion has joined the fray!"
The little swordsman darts around the corner, skidding to a halt under the floating gnome.
Using 1 panache for Derring-Do
Acrobatics to avoid AoO, sickened, Derring-Do!: 1d20 + 14 - 2 + 1d6 ⇒ (4) + 14 - 2 + (1) = 17

Using 1 panache to double precision damage on a hit
+1 Rapier, flanking, sickened, incl. precision dmg x2: 1d20 + 14 - 2 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 14 - 2 + 2 = 341d4 + 7 - 2 + 10 ⇒ (1) + 7 - 2 + 10 = 16
Crit Confirm: 1d20 + 14 - 2 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 14 - 2 + 2 = 211d4 + 7 - 2 ⇒ (3) + 7 - 2 = 8

GM Hawthwile |

Correct - it had to get pretty lucky to make it to Mythryndyr, though it would have shifted to targeting Mattaius due to the AoO had it not had to double-move to its current position.
Also, id insinuation II has a duration of Concentration + 1 round. So Red is still confused for one more round.
Little creatures are troglodytes - the two things that set them aside from most other creatures are theirs claws and bite and their stench aura - both of which the Pathfinders have experienced first-hand now.
Red Will vs DC 19: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15
The slaugrak's confused gaze whips around to Mattaius as the priest cuts its fiendish hide twice, then to Floria as her spell takes hold, then to Mythryndyr as his arrow plinks off the creature's chest again, then to Tsuan as her blades bounce off its torso harmlessly, then finally to Jamir as the halfling forces his tiny blade deep into its ankle. The rapier bends dangerously - the fiend's thick skin dampening the blow significantly - but it bellows in pain from the myriad of cuts and swings back at the halfling!
Red Bite, Pain vs Jamir AC 24: 1d20 + 13 - 4 ⇒ (19) + 13 - 4 = 28
Bite damage, Acid damage: 1d10 + 5 + 1d6 ⇒ (9) + 5 + (1) = 15
Crit Confirmation: 1d20 + 13 - 4 ⇒ (16) + 13 - 4 = 25
Crit damage: 1d10 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
Red Claw, Pain vs Jamir AC 24: 1d20 + 12 - 4 ⇒ (13) + 12 - 4 = 21
Slashing, Piercing damage: 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
Red Claw, Pain vs Jamir AC 24: 1d20 + 12 - 4 ⇒ (18) + 12 - 4 = 26
Slashing, Piercing damage: 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
Jamir Fortitude, Sickened: 1d20 + 5 - 2 ⇒ (3) + 5 - 2 = 6
Jamir, would you have used your immediate action to activate Dodging Panache, Underfoot Assault, or Charmed Life? I'm operating under the assumption you would use Dodging on the first, but let me know if that's not the case and we'll retcon as needed.
...and the halfling jumps back from the massive jaws, narrowly escaping having his entire torso bitten and forcing the beast to make due with only biting his arm. The corrosive acid quickly burns its way through Jamir's body, causing his internal organs to liquify slightly. The slaugrak swings one massive arm at the halfling and misses, but the second catches him by surprise and leaves jagged cuts down his shoulder. The massive creature grins, not seeming to notice the black blood oozing from between its teeth and down its sides from the multitude of deep wounds it has already suffered.
@Floria, you mentioned taking a 5 ft step in your post, but your token has not moved. Please clarify in your next post and we'll retcon as needed.
The two troglodytes step in tandem to surround Floria, then unleash a whirlwind of claws and teeth...
Since Blue must take a 5 ft step and then ready an action for Yellow to step into flanking, Blue only gets one attack.
Blue Claw, Flanking vs Floria AC 20: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 5 + 2 = 19
Slashing, Piercing damage, Sneak Attack: 1d4 + 3 + 1d6 ⇒ (3) + 3 + (2) = 8
Yellow Bite, Flanking vs Floria AC 20: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 5 + 2 = 11
Bite damage, Sneak Attack: 1d4 + 3 + 1d6 ⇒ (2) + 3 + (5) = 10
Yellow Claw, Flanking vs Floria AC 20: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 5 + 2 = 26
Slashing, Piercing damage, Sneak Attack: 1d4 + 3 + 1d6 ⇒ (4) + 3 + (2) = 9
Yellow Claw, Flanking vs Floria AC 20: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 5 + 2 = 8
Slashing, Piercing damage, Sneak Attack: 1d4 + 3 + 1d6 ⇒ (3) + 3 + (3) = 9
...but only one clawed hand tastes the human's blood, cutting deep into her side.
Also, the slaugrak's previous spell has expired and @Jamir successfully resisted all three stench auras (while being sickened, we might add), so he is no longer sickened!

Yes sorry she'd been intending to step 1 square left on the map to get out of the range of the slaugrak
I've really got to start conserving my energies. I've also got to survive however
Getting clawed to death wasn't in Floria's plans for today. Hoping to bring in some of her allies to help, she targets the slaugrak again, peering into its now familiar mind and trying to burst some arteries.

@GM Hawthwile: Regarding Pai's standard action last round, what's your ruling on whether the Air Bubble spell would eliminate any additional stench getting through to the Pathfinders' noses? One GM in the past has ruled that it does that, but the text doesn't specifically say.
Well, here goes nothing. Sighing in disgusted resignation, Pai tries to pin the itty bitty dagger into the slaugrak's thick hide.
dagger: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 4 + 2 = 221d3 - 1 ⇒ (3) - 1 = 2
Includes flanking bonus

GM Hawthwile |

@Jamir - sorry, yes, the crit confirmed and Jamir regains panache. Don't be afraid to ask questions like this in the Hangouts chat so I can get back to you more quickly!
@Pai - my thought is that the air bubble effect would prevent the need for further saving throws (like if another troglodyte showed up), but won't negate the existing failed saves. This is based on the fact that the sickened condition from Stench isn't removed if a creature moves out of the aura. If you have other resources/FAQs that would indicate otherwise, I'd love to see them!
Red Will vs DC 18: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22
The slaugrak is likewise becoming familiar with Floria's tricks, but it is too little too late and the massive beast crumples to the floor as blood pours from its ears and nose.
With Red down, it seems likely some folks might want to change their posted actions. If you've rolled an attack already, use the same dice result (with different modifiers if necessary). Or just let me know if you're just changing targets and we'll resolve things from there.

After nearly a minute, the Pathfinders suppress their queasiness and have a chance to look around. The locked cells on either side of the hallway hold humans, packed in three or four to a room. It takes a bit of time for Floria and Tsuan to get their point across, but Tsuan eventually gets into an animated pantomime-guessing game with a prisoner to learn that she was born and raised here, let out of her cell only to clean the sewage pits and remove dung from the dinosaur caverns below.
Victory Point obtained!
Pai and Jamir start hurrying around looking for a key to the cells. They look in every cranny and at the top of every shelf, but find nothing. Suddenly, Jamir hears a sound from further down the hallway - voices, but the gutteral and staggered ringing of human speech rather than the lilting hisses of snakes and lizards. The Pathfinders race around the corner to discover a motley crew of men and women - many of them malnourished and wounded, but athletic nonetheless - standing over the fresh corpses of more troglodytes with stolen blades and makeshift clubs in their hands.
A powerfully-built woman steps over a corpse and points her blade at the Pathfinders. "Li paş bisekinin, mar!" she declares, though her eyes glance downward and upward at Jamir and Pai respectfully. "Em ê bêtir hîleyên we nesekinin. Bi sonda min wek leşkerê Azlant, em ê nema bibin zindan!" Behind her, the other humans likewise hold their weapons ready.
If you wanted, you could try to talk them down. Being able to communicate in Azlanti, Draconic, Thassilonian, or Undercommon would certainly make things easier, but there are enough words in Common with Azlanti origins to make communication at least possible.
What do you do?

Floria puts her rod and wand away, and raises her hands in a placating gesture.
"We are friends. Allies. Help. Assist."
She points at the troglodyte corpses. "They are our Enemies. Monsters. Slavers"
"May I request your permission to use a spell. Magic. To help and assist communication; talking?"
She's trying to be as non-threatening as possible, whilst also trying to hit words that she might understand.
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (20) + 13 = 33
If permitted she will use her scroll of Share Language on the powerfully built woman to give her common so they can talk

"We're here to help," Tsuan adds simply. "We are your friends."
She will hold her arms out with her palms facing them to show she is unarmed.
If allowed, Tsuan will draw out her theieves tools and attempt to open the cells.

Noting that the woman seemed to show respect to her, Pai raises her hands non-threateningly (which is ironic and hilarious to a kineticist, but whatever!) and nods solemnly in return. She gestures to Floria and gives a smile and nod to the powerfully built woman, indicating that Floria is trustworthy.

Jamir sheaths his rapier and bows. "My lady," he says, "how can we help?"
Diplomacy to aid Floria: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24
As Floria retrieves her scroll, Jamir snaps his fingers and passes her a wand. "My friend, this wand contains a spell that will enable you to share any regional language you speak - including the common tongue of our time - with a person you touch. I believe the wand has 45 castings available, so that you may cast it on all of our new acquaintances here. It will last about ten minutes."

GM Hawthwile |

The woman scowls as Floria approaches, but the noble's gentle words seem to put her at ease enough to allow her hand to be touched with the wand. "I do not trust your foul sorcery, but you do not appear to be with the snakes," she says in Common. "But I cannot stay here - we must find General Krahnaliara Lac Suhn before those priests do something unspeakable to him. They took him to the temple, of that I am certain. I am Uszanriar, and I lead these escaped soldiers in search of him. Farewell, strange folk."
Victory point! And because Floria rolled so well and had Jamir's assistance, they've even become helpful to the Pathfinders. Who knows what sorts of benefits that might offer?
I'll move us along more in the morning, but feel free to interact with Uszanriar until then.

"Wait!" Floria can't pass up the chance to talk to someone from such a distant past.
"Are you part of the Azlanti Empire? What year is it? Er... do the runelords rule in Thassilon? "
Floria knows more about the history of Golarion than I do and can probably think of more useful questions to ask, as well as hopefully do a calendar conversion for the date
Knowledge (history): 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (10) + 11 = 21
"Forgive my strange questions, but we are visitors from a far off place and the information is important to us. Perhaps we can help you? We abhor slavery were we are from."

**HOUSE GM ANNOUNCEMENT**
Thanks in part to the efforts of Pathfinder agents, a slave revolt is now spreading like wildfire throughout the lower regions of the complex!
GMs, the Slave Pits (Area B) are now controlled, and the Slave Revolt condition is now in effect (see the ‘Development’ section on Page 16)

GM Hawthwile |

"I am a soldier of the Empire," Uszanriar answers gruffly. "It is the year of the Red Sun and the Crane Moon, auspicious signs that do not care for mortals. At least, that is what the priests say. I do not know these Lords of Rune you speak of, but the traitorous Thassilon still stands as an affront to the Emperor's benevolence and wisdom." She spits as she marches away.
Absalom Reckoning didn't start until Earthfall, so the year is unfortunately rather meaningless.
Bolstered by their success, the Pathfinders hurry upward to emerge onto a plaza underneath the strange green bubble of the temporal displacement. Wide flagstones cover the plaza, leading to a stepped pyramid. Larger-than-life statues of serpentfolk and snakes line the plaza, alongside pictograph-covered pillars and small cages filled with all manner of furry, chattering creatures. Broken bits of stone lie scattered across the floor, some of them still bearing magical marks to animate and control them. The group hurries onward through the plaza, past the buildings and stalls that line either side and weaving through the heavily-inscribed stone columns spread evenly throughout the space. Banners and tarps hang between the columns, creating distinct areas of light and darkness. Smoldering coals suround the bases of large, heated ceramic cylinders which glow softly and give off enough heat to be felt from a distance.
The Pathfinders hurry onward to the pyramid, scaling its stepped sides before finding a doorway leading inside to what appears to be a shrine. Glowing coals warm the air here and cast an eerie under-lighting on the towering, snake-headed statue behind the altar. The reek of ammonia and rotting flesh fills the air and burns the eyes. In front of the altar, a tall serpentfolk stands ready while a massive snake lies curled next to one of the braziers.

"Whoa! That's a huge snake!" Pai exclaims as she flies along the corner of the wall and ceiling. She stops so there's a pillar between her and the serpentfolk (just in case!) and tries to distract the snake from Tsuan with a blast of electricity. "Hey, snake! Eat lightening!" What size are its poops?!

Pai's plan to distract the oversized snake works as it fixes pupil-less eyes the same scarlet color as the multitude of deep cuts decorating its hide on her and slithers closer. Perhaps too well...

Pai Fortitude vs Poison: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (9) + 11 = 20
Pai's been through worse though and grits her teeth, ignoring the venom that's making her leg throb. To her relief, the pain begins to fade just as quickly as it started.
