Each of your comm devices begins going off all throughout the day as First Seeker Luwazi Elsebo’s voice breaks the silence. “Starfinders, if you’re receiving this transmission, I’m requesting that you cease your current missions and return to Absalom Station at once. I have obtained urgent information regarding one of our foe’s activities. If she succeeds, she could tip the balance of corporate power within the Pact Worlds and possibly even destroy the Society. I’ll explain once we convene at the Lorespire Complex.”
Table GM’s please begin the Introduction Phase

GM Sedoriku |

And we are off!
The Lorespire Complex’s familiar grounds are in a boisterous state of flux. Hired workers set up pavilions and booths on the lawns, courier vehicles dart back and forth down the adjacent streets, and janitors hustle to prepare rooms for occupation throughout the compound’s buildings. Dozens of early guests loiter nearby chatting excitedly. The festive, yet chaotic, atmosphere persists in stark contrast to the First Seeker’s ominous announcement.
A lashunta man, Venture-Captain Arvin, Picture on slide 4 strides forward to intercept the newest arrivals. “Welcome back, Starfinders. First Seeker Elsebo plans to meet with the agents involved in her operation shortly. She’ll announce when she’s ready—listen for the code phrase ‘pest control.’ It looks like Luwazi is finally going to have us strike back at Datch, the architect of our past year of credibility woes.” He stops and seems to choke down some open disapproval at mentioning her name, instead looking out to the joyous groups of people in the compound. “Regardless of our foe’s machinations, we’re hosting several weeks of conferences and parties to honor Ehu Hadif, and there’s plenty to do while you wait. Let’s
get you checked in, shall we?”
He leads the group to a table where they take your names and give you a name badge, and a small bag of goodies, mostly papers about the convention, but it also includes your room assignments, a few snacks, drink machine vouchers and a voucher for one meal. After check-in, Arvin looks at his watch and states, “We’ve got a few hours until things get started, so I’m going to put you to work. Venture Captain Naiaj seems to be having some trouble with the caterers.” He stops to point out the kitchens on the complex map. [/b]“The leader of the Dataphiles, Celita, has been trying to get a media campaign going about the event. Radaszam, the head of the Acquisitives, seems to be having some trouble with protesters.”[/b] He points out the Archive’s Cortex and front lawns respectively. ”Fitch, of the Wayfinders, seems to have her hands full with trying to get the sound equipment in the main hall set up. Ziggy, the main person in the Exo-Guardians, has been sending messages about a giant line of cars at the valet parking.” He also marks both of these spots out on your map. After a second he checks his data pad and gives a frown. ”Oh, and I could use some help with hunting down some VIPs who should have been here already.”
On page 4 of the slides there should be the relevant information, skill checks and pictures of the leaders. For this bit go ahead and state who you’d like to help (and even make a roll if you want). We can split the party and Aid Another is perfectly acceptable as long as you use the same skill to aid. There are three levels of boons you can earn with each task.

Bonra accepts the invitation back to Absalom Station with a grin.
"I knew they'd call me back soon enough." He says to no one in particular on the shuttle back.
He spends the first few hours catching up with old friends and staring scandalized when his fellow Starfinders tell him of what Datch has been up to.
"Guess I haven't been paying attention to much lately." He mutters, scratching the scales beneath his chin.
He kills time after checking in, proudly displaying his name tag and signing autographs for the occasional fan, flexing for pictures.
"Yeah, I have been quiet since blowing up that corpsefleet ship, but Bonra is comin' back haha!"
He's starting to get bored when Arvin finally comes by with some problems to solve and the vesk chugs what's left of his energy drink while he listens.
Bonra growls low in his throat when the protesters are pointed out. He can appreciate why they feel how they do, but it'd be nice if they could celebrate Erhu in peace.
Intimidate: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21
You just said to tell you who we'd like to help so I wasn't sure if I should also write out how we help. So I'll put it in a spoiler.
"Aren't any of you tired yet!?" He growls, his solarian armor appearing, brilliant plates of light interlocking across his body.
"Do you know how many times we've saved you? Do you? What do you think will happen if we pack it up and leave?" He slams both of his fists together to punctuate the last question and slams his tail on the ground at the same time.

Radaszam, leader of the Acquisitives, jogs up to the party as you get close to the front lawn. He points to a potential security breach on the Lorespire Complex’s front lawn, where a group crowds the main walkway, hoisting signs with anti-Society slogans. “Looks like these people bought in to Datch’s propaganda,” Radaszam grumbles. “They’ve been here all day, but they’ve finally gotten enough numbers that it is starting to interfere with people arriving at the event. We’re not going to make them disperse violently—please talk with them and work out a peaceful resolution.”
~~~~~~~~~
Bonrakoru, That is perfect thank-you!
Bonrakoru stomps out to the lawn and proves to be as intimidating as he can be. The group stops their chants and set down their signs, and watch him for a moment. Then one by one the realization that the Starfinders, in addition to all of the positive things they do, help keep people like him off station or contained when on station dawns on them. It settles the peaceful, albeit misguided, protest. After the vesk drops the demeanor, Bonrakoru is able to move among the crowd and learn from the demonstrators that despite the Society’s efforts to counteract Datch’s smear campaign, many individuals in the Pact Worlds still distrust their organization.
The group gains valuable insight into the crowd’s behavior. At any point during the adventure, a PC can attempt a DC 18 Bluff, Diplomacy, or Intimidate check to influence a crowd. It also readies the group for possibly less peaceful ‘protesters’. Once during the adventure, when the group encounters a team of two or more adversaries, the group can activate this reward to grant everyone a +4 bonus to their initiative checks for that encounter.
You've earned the highest level of boon you can from this activity! That was a great start there Bonrakoru!
Ardoc smiles at Venture-Captain Arvin, and leans his pike against the wall.
"Happy to help!"
He races off to find the VIPs, before returning, shamefaced.
"Uh, who were you looking for, exactly?"
Athletics: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (9) + 9 = 18
GM Sedoriku |
Venture-Captain Arvin frowns as he pulls up a list of the VIPs still not checked in and in place. He starts pacing in front of the building’s entrance, clearly overwhelmed by the list of familiar names on his datapad. He glances up and readies to start reading off the names, but finds that Ardoc has already run off.
Arvin relaxes some as the human comes back. “I appreciate the eagerness. First, Sparklemane and his associated weapon permits are unaccounted for. Zo!—shuttle delayed. Envar Tam — seems to be finding the best selfie spot? That's just ridiculous.” Arvin stops and takes a deep breath before looking at you. “If you can help me locate and corral these three, I’d be grateful.”
Ardoc finds the unicorn Sparklemane at the security check point arguing a grenade launcher is perfectly acceptable weaponry for an event like this! Ardoc, pops into the room and is able to sign for the weapon, though might have to pay for any damages that comes from use of said launcher. The unicorn responds to his favor by gifting him a enough mk 1 serums of healing for his group.
Zo! seems to be stuck in the snarl up of the valet parking. Ardoc bounds in and around the cars in the pile up and finds his car. He leads the media mogul out of the clash of traffic and into the complex proper, leaving the zombie driver to finish parking. The enebrian gifts him with a series of vouchers for 10% off a purchase on the station valid for the next week or so.
Ardoc finds Envar Tam on the roof of one of the buildings, leaning out and smiling at his comms unit, completely unaware he's about to tumble the 56 stories to the next balcony. Ardoc is able to rush in and catch the man, smiling for the selfie he just photo bombed. After a moment to realize the selfie he took was perfected with the balancing effect of a second face, and such a cool looking one as Ardoc's at that, Envar offers the man a selection of serums and grenades he happens to have on him.
Each character gets a mk 1 serum of healing that must be used during the course of this adventure from Sparklemane. The magnanimous Zo! gifts everyone vouchers for a one-time 10% discount on gear or equipment purchased on Absalom Station for the duration of the adventure. This discount does not stack with any other
discount. Finally from Envar, each character can select a serum or grenade from the Core Rulebook with an item level less than or equal
to 2 to receive free of charge. This item must be used during the course of this adventure. These are the highest level of benefits you can gain from this activity.
I'm adding these to the campaign info tab. Let me know what serum or grenade you want and if you want to purchase anything.
The tall lanky Kasatha enters and seems confused.
I was told to report here for a mission. I must admit, I was not expecting to have to run errands and part shuttles.
But I suspect those are typical errands for someone fresh from the Society training halls. The call of the stars must wait another day it would seem.
He nods and looks at the Venture-Captain.
How can I be of service?
GM Sedoriku |
Venture-Captain Arvin looks over at the gathered VIPs, "My major worries have been taken care of here. Hrmm, I know Naiaj could use some help in the kitchens with something. Ziggy's giving regualr reports as to the valet situation being dire. Celita wants to start a media campaign and Fitch could always use more hands. She's setting up the sound system in the Hall of Discovery."
Feel free to pick a person from the provided ones on slide four of the maps and then make a roll. Options struck out are already completed to the best degree possible.
Kaath heads to teh valet line and attempts to offer assistance to Ziggy with the tangle.
I am Kaath. I am here to help.
survival: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17 using his 4 arms to direct traffic as best routes possible
GM Sedoriku |
Zigvigix, chats animatedly with one of the hired event staff, a stocky, brown ysoki dressed in stained coveralls embroidered with the name “Tall Sam.” The two avidly discuss a cluster of haphazardly parked land vehicles. “Hey, you!” The ysoki shouts at Kaath as the kasathan approaches, seemingly unaware of the irony of his statements, “Why are you just standing around, huh? We’ve got a pileup worse than A-Station rush hour over here. Get off your tails, and go park some vehicles!” Zigvigix nods enthusiastically and adds, “Relieving the valet queue might help our fellow Starfinders get to Luwazi’s meeting. Please do whatever you can to help!”
They deck Kaath out in a bright orange traffic guidance vest and set him to the center of the roundabout for parking getting him to guide the backed up cars around the space. While there Kaath even sees Zo!'s famous limo drive past, though it seems the media mogul isn't in it.
Anyone want to try aiding him on that survival there?
Kaath is able to get a good deal of the traffic directed around the parking complex but there's still a few cars in line. But solving the bulk of the the snarled traffic and haphazard parking problems gives Tall Sam the ability to move the Society's cars around parking garage and starship hangars. With Zigvigix’s permission, Tall Sam starts to modify several of the Society’s parked vehicles. Once during the adventure, the party can flip a boost switch to add a +4 to a single Piloting check during starship combat or a vehicle chase and the vehicle can move and additional hex or square.
There's one more level of boon to get from this activity, but you got bloody dang close to getting it completely.
Roddy doesn't have his usual holocam following him. After the incident with the hate mail last month, his producer refuses to film his activities with the Society. He watches the halls of Absalom Station zoom by as his transport takes him to the Lorespire Complex, his normally smooth forehead creased with worry. He still isn't sure backing the Society was the best move for his career; from what he's been hearing, this Datch has really done a number on the Starfinders' credibility. Eventually he sighs and rubs his mouth. His polished armor gleams as he leans back in his seat; he'd bought the upgrade armor as a gift to himself for completing his commencement and being officially inducted as a Starfinder. He rubs the back of his right hand, where a subdermal tattoo shows his Starfinder badge somewhere underneath the polymer gauntlet of his Golemforged plate armor. He shakes his head and sighs. There's no abandoning the Society now; he's with them to the end, for good or ill.
You've never been one to backpedal anyway, Roddy. Best way is always to trudge ahead. And when life puts a wall in your way...
"Smash through it," he mutters aloud, chuckling to himself.
As soon as Arvin approaches them, he waves with a grin. "Captain! Good to see you again." He listens to the list of issues before nodding. "I've got practice when it comes to being in front of cameras. I'll talk to Captain Celita and see how I can help with the media campaign."
I've got a +8 to Culture, which is not bad. Too bad bounty hunting is Wisdom-based, that'd be a +11. Ah, well.
Culture: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17
Gah, one off from an 18! In case you need some more flavor to go with the roll:
Roddy puts on his best boyish grin as he records a quick promo spot for Celita: "Roddy Glasz here. Whether I'm hunting wanted criminals on the Glasz Cannon Holocast or helping the good folks at the Starfinder Society troubleshoot the galaxy, there's no better place for a party than the Lorespire Complex! Talk about scenery! I don't know for sure you're gonna show up, but I hope so. What can I say? I'm a Glasz half full kinda guy!" He winks for the camera.
After recording, he says to Celita, "I know a couple forums where you can link this and it'll absolutely blow up. The trick isn't posting places where you already have Society supporters, that's just an echo chamber. And the forums where we're hated aren't a good place, because it'll mostly just bring in more protesters. These sites mostly got fans that are still on the fence. Should at least draw a few more out. Hope it helps." He smiles, and it's significantly more genuine than the grin he gave for the camera.
GM Sedoriku |
Roddy you might also be able to help Kaath there with those last few pesky cars.. annnddd Maybe someone can help you with the promo?
Roddy finds Celita, leader of the Dataphiles, in the Archive’s Cortex. “Our esteemed colleague’s elevation to First Seeker is a historic occasion. As such, we must all do our part to foster a celebratory atmosphere—not only to honor Ehu’s nomination but to conceal Luwazi’s activities. Your help with creating a positive buzz across the infosphere would be greatly appreciated. Especially after the last year of negative press.”
She gives Roddy a small smile over his little promo piece, adding, "That should be perfect! And finding a few other places to post this would be a great idea. Hrmm if we give this as spin of positivity even in times of trouble that might be a great idea... add in the hash tag #Glaszhalffull and you have a good basis for something that can go viral. If only we had another person or two who could add to the testimonial..."
Celita uses the video as the basis to launch a social media tag about the upcoming events that quickly gains momentum throughout the local infosphere. Once during the adventure, each character can gain a +2 bonus to a Charisma-based skill check attempted when interacting with an individual who is not a Starfinder.
Still another level of success to be found here. Also you can try multiple activities, but only roll once per activity. For example, Roddy rolled for the Media Boost activity with Celita, but he can now go try the Valet Pileup with Ziggy if he wants.
GM Sedoriku |
I'm coming to you from Japan! Shouldn't be too much of an issue.
Venture-Captain Naiaj leans against the wall outside the cafeteria, glaring at the ground. Workers clad in white chef smocks hurry past carrying a covered tray, which Naiaj looks up at and eyes longingly. She hears Joe approach and turns. She gives him a look up and down before seeing his kebab stick and she snaps, “Have you ever been so hungry you got angry? I came here to get my snack on and found the caterers in a panic. They don’t have enough food prepared to handle the guest list, and they’re struggling to accommodate some attendees’ unique dietary needs. I’d hate to see our new First Seeker’s big day spoiled by an empty buffet line. Get in there, and see what you can do to help. Oh and get me something to eat soon, before I start biting people’s heads off! Look alive, cadet!”
After an hour or so bussing the food to and from the buffet tables and an emergency run to the nearest supermarket, Joe manages, despite sampling the wares heavily, to get enough food out onto the floor the chefs keep pace with he comsumption on their own. Thankful for the help, the head caterer gifts the group with a vacuum-sealed, spoilage-resistant takeout container full of scrumptious food. Once during the adventure, one of you can consume this food to gain a +1 bonus to skill checks and saves for a number of minutes equal to their character level as well as the healing of a mk 3 serum of healing. Bonra calms down as he listens to the fears and concerns of the protesters who remain to speak with him. He reassures them that he was just blowing hot air. "Sorry about that, I get real angry sometimes." He flashy a toothy grin and looks around to see where else he might be of help.
Seeing there's still a bit of a bottle neck with regards to parking, he makes his way toward the Kasatha and offers some assistance.
The finally scragglers of the disrupted protest give Bonra a few side-eye glances but seem to otherwise take the vesk at his words. Bonra then notices off to the right there are more than a handful of vehicles that are either belligerently not following or not understanding what Kaath is directing them to do. He jogs over and helps to guide the last few cars around, the extra hands, especially ones on a naturally intimidating person as Bonra, helping.
You've got the last boon available from this activity. Instead of giving yourselves a +4 bonus to a single Piloting check you can force the crew of an enemy ship or vehicle to take a –2 penalty to all Piloting checks made during a round. The use of this ability must be declared at the start of the starship combat or vehicle chase round.
And we have a last minute addition! Welcome Apikinzas, could you head over to the Discussion thread and give me chronicle details please? Also do you have an image you'd like to use for maps?
Inside the Hall of Discovery, ysoki scuttle about setting up audiovisual equipment while a kindly voice directs them. Fitch, leader of the Wayfinders, waves to the Apikinzas from atop a towering scaffold. “Hey down there! Good to see you! The kiddos and I are sprucing the place up for the big event.” She stops and beams proudly at a scrawny, gray ysoki fiddling with a circuit
board. “They’re doing great, but it’s a big job. Mind lending us a hand?”
The shorter vesk is able to help connect things together in no time flat, showing up most of the young ysoki in the room who take avid notes, with even Fitch seeming to learn a thing or two from how the woman works. In exhange for the masterful lesson on how to put a sound rig together in no time flat, the prodigious young ysoki offer a few helpful tips about fixing equipment on the fly. Each time the group attempts a skill check to repair or reprogram a technological item during the adventure, one character can gain a +3 bonus to the check. Once during the adventure, each character can roll twice and take the better result with such checks as well.
![]() |
Hopefully someone with enough spare time can update a slide with all our boons listed :)
That was quite the challenge. But I think we are capable of much more. the 4-armed agent declares with longing to be moving on to bigger and better adventures.
"I'm gonna sit down and eat some more before they call us in for this pest control. Moving all these cars made me hungry." He wonders if they'll give him another meal voucher for helping out as he wanders off from Kaath and awaits further instruction, letting his armor fade away.
I'll take my free healing serum and I'll use the free serum boon to snag another one. Added mk1 healing x2 to my sheet.
Okay that's everything we could do right now, outside of make some last minute purchases we are waiting on Part 1 to start. I thought it was going to be about midnight on September 2nd UTC, but given that was nearly 13 hours ago, I don't know when that is going to come. A chime sounds throughout the Lorespire Complex and its surrounding grounds, followed by a broadcast of First Seeker Luwazi Elsebo’s resonant voice: “Pest-control workers, your presence is kindly requested in the Hall of Discovery.” Spurred by the announcement, junior and experience Starfinders file into the Forum’s meeting space.
As the last of the summoned Starfinders enter the meeting space, Luwazi stands atop a stage at the centre of the hall. Radaszam and Zigvigix position themselves behind the First Seeker, warily surveying the crowd. When the doors shut behind the final Starfinder team, Radaszam steps forward and whispers in Luwazi’s ear. She nods as he offers her a microphone.
“Thanks to your courage and resilience, Starfinders, we have overcome adversity time and again. Two years ago, we embarked on a mission to rescue our lost agents from the Scoured Stars. Last year, we returned to battle the jinsuls and won. Today, I stand before you for the last time as your First Seeker and invite you to accept a very different challenge.
“I trust you are all familiar with the individual called Datch. For the past year, Datch orchestrated a slanderous media war against the Society for reasons incomprehensible to us. We’ve recently learned more about our enemy and realized that the Society is not her only target. As a member of AbadarCorp’s security department, Datch used her connections to manufacture a media smear campaign against us. She did so to gain power within the corporation, and her next target is Executive Archdirector and CEO Iseki-Okaibo. Yesterday, Datch instigated a vote of no-confidence against him. If the motion passes, Datch stands to take advantage of that power vacuum.”
Luwazi frowns at the assembled Starfinders. “We cannot let that happen. We can’t directly challenge Datch—not yet. If we’re going to stop her, we must beat her at her own game. While Datch positions herself to seize power, I plan to use Ehu Hadif’s elevation and the presence of our most veteran agents at the elevation event as a cover to send you on covert missions throughout the Pact Worlds. The missions vary, but your primary goals are to disrupt Datch’s ongoing activities and convince AbadarCorp executives not to support the vote of no-confidence. I’m counting on you, Starfinders.”
Encouraged by the First Seeker’s words, the chosen Starfinder teams prepare to depart the Lorespire Complex for various destinations across the Pact Worlds. Society leaders direct smaller groups of agents into specialized briefings, where they present information about each covert operation. After a year of enduring Datch’s merciless attacks against their organization, the Starfinders finally have the chance to retaliate.
Table GMs, Part 1 has begun.
![]() |
Bonrakoru is brimming with energy after the briefing. What are Exo-Guardians made for if not eliminating threats to the society?
He wanders the rooms for awhile listening in on some of the briefings and trying to get a hang of where he and his team might be needed.
"Sounds like there are some combat missions in the Diaspora and Castrovel. You guys want to smash heads now? Or save the best for last?" He asks over their comms channel.
The missions are on slides. If we handle the combat first we might receive an aid token to help us with the other mission later, but I'm down for any of them.
GM Sedoriku |
Ah, we finally moved on! So where do you guys want to go? I'll go with the first suggestion that gets two votes of approval
![]() |
As we are already in Absalom Station, perhaps the Caper would be an easy start. But I certainly have no problem in seeking the rougher encounters in Diaspora and Castrovel. Finding something or some clues to aid our other attempts may be helpful. Especially if subterfuge is not our current strength. Besides, getting out among the stars is why I joined, right?
Combat missions to Diaspora then Castovel is fine by me..
GM Sedoriku |
The Golden Caper
As soon as Luwazi’s last briefing finishes everyone gets a message on their communicators to come and meet Celita inside a small gymnasium in 10 minutes. When the group enters, she’s completing a frenzied sparring drill against a punching bag. “Since my encounter with Historia Prime, I find this activity to be therapeutic. A friend set this room up for me,” Celita explains, her voice clearly strained from some form of exertion.
Without skipping a beat, she launches into a mission briefing in her typical direct manner, “I respect our outgoing First Seeker and support her plans. Luwazi is wise not to target Datch outright at this juncture. Such an intelligent adversary, however, surely has countermeasures in place for any attack against her, however indirect. We need more information about Datch’s plans before we can strike.” Celita delivers a powerful blow to the weighted bag.
“According to the interdepartmental memos I’ve retrieved, Datch is away on a business trip. I’ve taken the liberty of pulling some strings to temporarily lessen the security of the Golden Vault, AbadarCorp’s main office on this station. I want you to gain access to any files stored in Datch’s private office. Discretion is key. Leaving digital or physical evidence of our involvement is more harmful to us than simply failing to meet the objective.” Celita hits her target with a final, spinning kick.
“Do not allow greed to cloud your judgment. If you attempt to steal anything other than information from the Golden Vault or access high security areas beyond your target, neither the Society nor I can help you.” She takes up a water bottle and takes a drink, while she wipes up any liquids she may have expelled in her sparring before looking at the group and adding, “This place doesn’t have any security cameras and has a direct access to outside the complex from the third individual shower room. You can make any preparations such as disguises, forged documents, fake meetings or anything of that sort here without worry, and head straight for the Golden Vault.”
She picks up a gym bag off the floor near her and tosses it to Roddy. “Here’s a directory of the company listing Datch’s office and a sample floor plan. Now, any questions?”
![]() |
Celita gives a short shake of her head. "I did not intercept any information about where or who, only when. But depending on the security level of the meeting, she'd probably not tell contractors anyways."
Apikinzas is able to print up believable, at first glance, name cards with a fake business logo. Under close scrutiny, or a simple Poogle search would probably blow their cover.
Any other preparations people are wanting to try?
Hello, colleagues! We are not diversed today, as usual. Anyway we'll prevail if we able to find some discipline, right? If you ask me, I'd vote fot The Golden Caper: Absalom Station and then follow to Universal Healthcare: Dispora!
As far as group finds Celita, and listen for breifing, Joe notes: Joseph, huh!? THe plan to perform as security is strong enough, I like it! Where can we get fly-cab here?
Culture to remember what security of Abadar Corp wear, andy signs, bages, colors... and use it to prepare: 1d2 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
And remember, I am Law Officer who might become a Steward one day
Joe doesn't remember much about the guards for AbadarCorp as he's interacted with them so few times, but he does know that normally one NEVER wants to try stealing anything from their headquarters as the have the money and need to hire the best.
Disguises? Fake ID's? Discretion!?
The longer Celita speaks, the less prepared he feels for this mission.
"Uh...well, I guess I'm ready to go?"
Subterfuge not being his strong suit, Bonra has no idea what he might be able to contribute to the preparations.
Moving you guys along. If you have any ideas for preparations you want to make go ahead and describe (and roll if you want) what you do.
The passage prove to pop out in a tiny alleyway near the Golden Vault. It proves to be within the sight of the Lorespire rising behind you. In front of you stands the head quarters of AbadarCorp. The gleaming building is a marvel of smooth glass faces interspersed with panels of solid gold. A good look over the plans Celita gave you shows most of the its upper levels contain offices, boardrooms, and chapels. Several subterranean levels house are rumored to hold I told material wealth, but you have no plans for there and Celita most certainly did not weaken what is sure to be guarded by near as perfect as money can buy rigorous security measures.
The entrance and public lobby is no problem for the public to visit and see the palatial reception area. It accommodates a constant stream of business professionals. The pyramidal chamber’s walls let natural light in through the transparent aluminum, and he light shimmers off the floor of gold-veined black marble. Steps up to the elevators that Celita marked on your map mount a raised platform that ends abruptly in a partition of glass and marble with four turnstile entrances. Beyond the partition is an elevator.
Each of you need to make an average difficulty Bluff, Diplomacy, or Disguise check to fool a receptionist and get through a turnstile. You have some of a bonus from the prep people tried, and could have a better bonus. Additionally I can give bonuses for well-done roleplaying!
Roddy picks up a disguise kit on their way out of the station. He's not much of a spy, but hopefully they can make something work.
Culture to recall AbadarCorp Uniforms: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22
Using what he can remember, he tries to help everyone look the part.
I can try rolling Disguise but it'd probably be better if I rolled to aid someone else. Does anyone have Disguise?
Once their quasi-uniforms are on, Roddy leads the group through the front door. "Confidence," he mutters right before they enter. "Act like you're supposed to be here. Does more than a disguise any day."
He steps into the lobby, trying not to ogle the ostentatious furnishings. Must be good to be the god of commerce, he thinks absently. He tries not to think of what corporations like this one did to his home, industrializing and pushing street kids like him further and further into the outskirts of the city until they had nowhere else to go.
He pushes the thought away, strides up to the front desk, and flashes the receptionist a sheepish grin while absently rubbing his shaved head. "Hey there. Can you help the newbies out? We're supposed to head to the Golden Vault for security assignment and this place is huge. Mind helping us get sorted?"
Gonna go ahead and use my Charisma boost now.
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 6 + 2 = 16
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 6 + 2 = 13
Eesh. I guess a 16 isn't terrible, but I was really hoping one of the rolls would at least be double digits. :(
Ardoc racks his memory for anything useful he knows about the Church of Abadar and AbadarCorp.
Mysticism: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22
Also using the bonus/roll twice thing here.
Ardoc smiles and nods at the receptionist and tries to get through as smoothly as possible.
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Morning full of classes! Sorry for not getting an update in earlier, but I have 5 minutes to do so now. I'll get a more detailed update in later!
Robby and Ardoc are both let through the turnstiles without much worry.
From all of the preparations you guys have a+4 to your checks, but each of you have to make your own checks to pass through the stiles.
Alright, I'm also going to roll my x2 roll.
Bonra shuffles around in his ill fitting AbadarCorp outfit and tries to seem confident like Roddy instructed.
"I'm, uh, supposed to be here. So...just let me in please."
As he raises an arm to wave at the receptionist the seam on his sleeve rips and when he bends to pick it up the AdadarCorp pin on his chest falls off and clinks across the floor.
Diplomacy+Prep: 1d20 + 2 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 2 + 4 = 7
Diplomacy+Prep: 1d20 + 2 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 2 + 4 = 13
welp
Kaath will try to follow the others, trying to act official and not make eye contact while passing through the gate.
Official business. I am with them.
Roll x2
bluff+prep: 1d20 + 0 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 0 + 4 = 19
bluff+prep: 1d20 + 0 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 0 + 4 = 12
GM Sedoriku |
Roddy approaches the turnstiles all confidence. The receptionist looks him up and down and then gives him a smile. "Gotcha! Newbies? We'll have to check everyone in on their own, oh and you have to go get a molten gold dip! Through the doors on the left, and make sure you wear only a swim suit or the statue of you is going to look terrrible! I'm kidding about that, of course. But whatcha looking for? I might be able to help you..." She gets chatting with the man and takes her eyes off the turnstiles for a moment, only giving Ardoc a brief nod and wave as he passes the two in conversation and gives a common Abadaran greeting.
Her conversation is interuppeted when Bonra comes crashing through, ripping his uniform and dropping his name tag, but she just gives a laugh. "You guys really are new, aren't you? Let me guess, you mistook the uniform sizes for the sizes they use in the veskarium, didn't you? Eh, don't worry you're not the first, just make sure you order the right size today. The requisitions office is on the third floor, by the way."
Kaath is able to hide any worries he has behind a mask of officialness. "Well seems you have one of the traditional 'won't do anything unless the book of rules up their back says they should' types here. But these guys do make sure the company runs half as smoothly as it does."
Joe approach to save the day (or may be ruin it) and coldly but with politeness noted
We are new here. Never know where you'd be pointed on if you have career ambitions, right? Never mind. So, what floor is it to he Golden Vault? We still get some jobs to be done here. Wanna candy? Mint-crema. ,- adds Joe, finding half eaten pack with Space Lollipops in his pocket.
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23
GM Sedoriku |
Apikinzas gives a small wave and passes through the turnstile without worry.
Joe approaches from and gets waved through as well, the recptionist gladly takes a Space Lolipop. "You really are new to here aren't you. This whole place is the Golden Vault... You really ought to check in with your superior as soon as you can, if you don't know things like that!"
The receptionist gives a wave as the four people around their sealed desk space leaves and moves up to the ninth floor, meeting with Apikinzas and Ardoc. On the floor there's four receptionist desks that flank a door. From the data you got from Celita this proves to be the door to the main security camera room. Celita's notes says this would be a good place to stop and see if you can't edit the video feeds. The door itself isn'T recorded, but you'd have to sneak past the receptionists to try getting into there. If someone distracted the receptionists then whoever tried to break into the room would likely have an easier time of it.
If you want to get into the room you'll need a hard stealth check, but you can make it easier if others distract the receptionists. The scenario doesn't specify what you'd have to do to distract them so feel free to get creative.
