Tech stretches lazily in his seat as the shuttle brings the group to their destination. Dim light flickers from within his mask and he mutters to himself for a few minutes before taking a look around. Rubbing at the data port behind his ear.
" So, Zoey, you said you were on one of Zo!'s shows before yeah? Which one? You got any insight about what Zo! is like when the cameras are off? Never met 'im myself, but I'm curious what he's like behind the scenes."

Zoey shows up dressed like a space pirate, or make that dressed up as a drama actor dressed like a space pirate. She's wearing a freebooter armor and is trying her best to look cure with the gun on her hip - which is of the static arc variety. She smiles broadly at Tech, bowing slightly when she gets introduced. Hello mmister Tech! Nice to meet you! I am bright and sparkly Zoey, I believe we will be on a mission together. Please look forward to it!
She proceeds to remark Zo! was the host of 'Live Exploration Extreme!'! That was a show full of spectacle, a mister Zo! is a great host.It was really exciting, there was a special set, and flashes and bangs, and all kinds of creatures... You should watch it someday!

You find yourselves deep beneath the surface of Eox in one of Zo!’s underground complexes. You’ve just arrived after Radaszam arranged for a starship from his private mercenary outfit, the Obsidian Spiders, to secretly ferry you to Eox.
Zo!’s complex is a multistory subterranean facility with floors dedicated to film sets, employee amenities, and cavernous boardrooms. You meet with Zo!, Eox’s foremost media mogul, in one such meeting area, furnished with a large round table and multiple wall-mounted flat screens.
Zo!, an undead elebrian, rubs his skeletal hands together and turns his rictus grin to Radaszam. “Excellent work, you truly are the Dealmaker. My viewers will love these agents you’ve assembled!” Radaszam nods, briefly showing his teeth, then gestures toward the empty seats across from Zo!.
“Before we get too carried away, I need a moment to explain the situation.” Radaszam sighs wearily as he takes a seat barely appropriate for his large vesk frame. “We thought our troubles were over after the Scoured Stars business. We were wrong.”
“Allow me to elaborate!” Zo! excitedly explains, seizing a remote. The screens behind him flicker to life, and the undead mogul spins around in his chair for a better view. Radaszam buries his head in his hands as the video plays.
The Starfinder Society emblem appears on screen as a deep, confident voice narrates: “The Starfinder Society, a group dedicated to the pursuit of truth and knowledge—or so they say.” The music dramatically flares as the voice-over continues. “What does this fraudulent organization really stand for?”
The camera pans over a fleet of Starfinder starships engaged in vicious fleet-to-fleet combat with unseen attackers. “Today, the Scoured Stars; tomorrow, your system. Where exactly will these hells-bent-on-conquest soldiers stop?” The scene then changes to that of a shirren, faction leader Zigvigix, dancing in a crowd, their torso and arms crammed into a Strawberry Machine Cake T-shirt. “While Starfinder operatives carry out secret wars across the galaxy, Society leaders embezzle funds to purchase VIP concert tickets. What is their true agenda?”
The screen transitions to grainy footage of Venture-Captain Arvin emerging from the Lorespire Complex, his hand raised to block the flash of cameras. “Society leadership refuses to elaborate. But the question remains: does this group have any place in the Pact Worlds?” A half-dozen similar ads play as Radaszam shakes his head and Zo! watches intently.
“As you can see,” Radaszam grumbles, “We’re facing a multimedia smear campaign. The First Seeker is working through legal channels while Celita locates the source of the commercials. But there’s a way you can help.” Radaszam catches Zo!’s eye and nods.
“You’re going to turn the tides of public opinion in your Society’s favor,” Zo! gushes, “by competing on my show, ”
“Zo! and I believe that a good showing on a prime-time game show might undermine this attempt at slander.” Radaszam explains. “I handpicked you to compete as a team. If you can impress Pact Worlds viewers enough, that’ll be the distraction we need to get the time to figure this whole situation out.”

Tech whistles as the Starfinder smear campaign plays over the screen and chuckles a little to himself.
"I haven't seen propaganda like that since the androids were fighting for citizenship."
He quiets as Zo! and Radaszam explain their idea, nodding where appropriate.
"It's a solid plan. Winning the heart of the people through entertainment, that's a tactic even older than I am. What exactly are we going to be doing on this show of yours? Anything we should make sure we're prepared for?"

Tonight on... Zoey is excited before she enters the briefing, the Necromancer!. She makes her best impression of Zo!, without being too insensitive to the fact that he is... you know... not quite alive.
Zoey watches the videos and whispers truth and knowledge..., though her face turns from bright to shocked. With a blank stare, she intuitive dances along with Zigvizix, the moves arriving without the soul.
Hng! she says why are people acting like this? Who would want to be so nasty to Zigvigix? Or mister Arvin?
She brightens up as Zo! explains the plan:
Ooh! Pact World Warriors! she says, we will work hard to impress your viewers! Where are we going?
Zoey then jumps into - in her view - a warrior-like pose , and shouts

A ysoki in dusty second skin armor staggering under the weight of a backpack almost as big as he is sets it down and perches on it, eying the display. "What Tech said. Someone went to a lot of effort on that, and paid well to get it that kind of distribution." He points his tail ar Radaszam. "But dealing with that is your problem, right? You and the rest of the Venture-Captains? I think we can buy you some time. Even if we die horribly, you should get some sympathy out of it. Don't worry--we're in it to win it." This was not how I imagined my first mission.
"I'm T--" He clicks his tongue. --but unless you speak ysoki or a similar language it's easier just to call me Tik. You don’t mind if I get some history, do you?" He pulls out a comm unit and does a quick search for previous Pact World Warriors shows.

Amy has been rather quiet on the trip out, spending most of her time with her nose in a book. If anyone visited her in her cabin, they would have to cope with a null or low gravity environment. She's usually quiet and shy.
Currently she's dressed in a yellow 'battle bikini' (think yuri from the Dirty Pair anime. Her HS of Desna is also visible.
Um .. I'm Amy .. star shaman mystic, astronomer and star dancer.
When Zoey wonders who would insult Zigvigix she says I know someone who did ... and because of that I changed factions. She called him a cripple. Well I can't stand in lines for long periods either ... getting that Strawberry Machine album nearly put me in a wheelchair, cause I grew up in zero-gee for a bit. Buuuut .. I should be okay for this.
She blushed after saying that and sort of retreated inside herself again.

You didn't even notice she was standing right beside the group this whole time, the almost unnaturally silent lashunta wears a simple but practical robe with no weapons in sight. Suddenly her antenea light up, and move in unexpected ways.
Zoey then jumps into - in her view - a warrior-like pose , and shouts
Eth jumps out of the group, mimicking the small rocket girls actions and voice, sticking her hands up awkwardly in the same direction into the air.
There is an akward silence before she adds, "Interesting. Is this what humans call. A power pose. A controversial self-improvement technique in which people stand in a posture that they mentally associate with being powerful. Curious." She goes back to standing unnaturally straight, and turns to Zo and Radaszam.
"I approve of this mission. It will give me ample time to study this group of Starfinders closer." She pauses, "Queery. What tactics are permitted inside this prime-time game show? What does a 'game show' entail?" She cocks her head curiously to the side.

Amy raises an eyebrow while calling up the Live Exploration Extreme! highlight clips on her datapad. She also looks worried when Eth mentions 'studying this group of Starfinders'.
Um ... what does this study entails? What are you hoping to find out? .. and as for .. erm .. game show ... maybe this will help.

Having cleaned up and taken a well-deserved long weekend after the boisterous affair with the assassination attempt against Luwazi, Rilynn packed her things and prepared for the next mission. She had succeeded in making an impression on Zo!; disguising herself as the Seeker and foiling an assassin while the mogul looked on had secured her seat in this mission. But what Zo! had in mind for them was anyone's guess. She had offered a pretty face for his cameras, but wondered if her meaning might be taken more literally by an Eoxian than she bargained for.
Radaszam's shuttle was standard-issue - no comforts. It was a lifestyle she was quickly adapting to, but a far cry from the lush vistas and fineries that surrounded her upbringing on Castrovel. And now Eox. Oh boy.
Her hair tied in a loose ponytail, she affected a smile she didn't quite feel while assessing her new team. Once again she was one of the rookies - another thing she was getting used to.
The brief conversation between Tech and Zoey is remarkable for its boisterous return volley by the perky human. At least Zo! would not lack for screen presence. And then there was the other human female and another gorgeous Lashunta. Well, Rilynn was going to have to up her game to compete at first impressions. She hit her cosmetics bag a little harder than usual in her private room before the meeting. She needed the moisturizer in this excruciatingly dry cavern, she told herself. Probably the undead didn't suffer well in humid climes. Moisture promotes decay, and all.
And speaking of games...
"A pleasure to work with all of you. I'm Rilynn, Jill of many trades."
While the propaganda video is alarming in its bent, it's the sort of thing Rilynn is extremely familiar with.
"Corporatist factions do this all the time on Castrovel," she adds once the video has concluded. "The hearts of the people are easily captured by this kind of sick emotion play. It's far easier to persuade the public with fear than with facts."
Suddenly less serious, she turns to Zo! with a grin. "But people can only stand so much bad news, and then they want to be entertained! Excellent tactical move. How do we begin?"

Eth turns to the group, smiling, "I apologies, I always forget to introduce myself. I am E-T-H. I have been tasked with joining the Starfinders on their many missions across the stars. To learn from, and document how, the various races across the cosmos interact with one another. I am an empath, here to observe. Peacefully. That is all."
She loses the smile almost instantly though, as if that was only a trained performance. She states bluntly. "I look forward to working with you all."

Amy shows Eth the clips featuring Zoey and her team in LEE! "Presumably we are going to do something like this."
Eth looks inquisitively at the clip from Live Exploration Extreme! Her features are plain, but her antena light up and dance excitedly. "Impressive. Game show. A recorded program in which life forms compete in random events for fame and glory." She smiles at Amy, "You must teach me. How do I get inside this small device? What what must I do to be as EXTREME! as you?"

T| gives a barking laugh. "These aren't random. They're planned--and the more sadistic a sense of humor the planners have, the better for ratings. They can't take it too far, though. There has to be a chance to win. Oh, and don't worry about being extreme--that plays well, but the quiet ones get their own set of fans."

Tech leans over to watch the vid as well.
"Well I doubt Mr. Zo! here will let us get too far in harms way Tik." The elf attempts to say the Ysoki's name correctly. It's clear that he's used to trying new languages, but he still doesn't quite get the sound right.
"I'm a decent shot if it comes to that, but my expertise is more mechanical. Need me to repair something, or figure out how something, uh, ticks, I'm your elf."
He turns toward ETH.
"I wouldn't use me as an example of Elven race relations by the way. Most of my kin aren't quite so eager to mingle." His eyes smile behind the mask before turning back the vid, where he attempts to make note of what may lie in store for the party.

"Good try with the tongue click! You've got to be careful with that, though--f you use a velar click instead of a dental click it comes out Tʞ, which means 'purple.' Absolutely not my color." His whiskers twitch. "I know a bit about machines myself, but you know--stagehands, right? That was why I got shuffled out here, even before my Commencement."

Rilynn gives a wry smile as "Tik" explains the nuances of his language.
"I cut out early, too," she says in fluent Ysoki. Then, switching back to Common: "All my life I was captive to ceremonies, and the one time there was one for me I missed it. If we're clever we'll sail through this latest excitement and be back to Absolom Station for the next one."
She pivots to Amy. "So, you like to watch?"

She mumbles I'm not a very tall warrior. The gun on her side suggests otherwise, though.

You've seen it! Zoey beams happily, I thought the CGI the team added to my heart-shape was sooo cool. She makes a little heart-shape with her hands, smiling cutely, but there is clearly no cgi this time around.
You must teach me. How do I get inside this small device?
Zoey perks up and says Don't worry, Miss! I've got this, it's easy. She grabs her datapad, taps as few times, then puts it back again.
Let me first teach you something, she says as she bounces over to ETH. Here, it's a really easy dance, you just saw Zigvigix do it!
Zoey demonstrates the steps of the main dance of 'Star-Sugar-Heart-Love', two-and-three-and-four, then grabs her datapad again, starts the camera and starts speaking Hello everybody! This is Strawberry Machine Cake's bright and sparkly Zoey! Today am I here with my new friends! Please show them lots of love! She makes a little round past everybody, saying cute things like Rilynn pretty!, and finally stops at ETH
She whispers to ETH: Don't worry, they can't see you, I can always edit. Show them the dance!

Amy looks a little lost. She's not used to dancing in one gee and translating three D dance to two D dance doesn't always work.
(Amy is only a little over five foot tall - five three at the most. She might even be shorter than Zoey))
I should get reconfiguring clothing some time she thinks. Would be nice to do a little twirl and a light show and instantly change into superhero ... or Starfinder mode ... heh ... Mercury Power ... Make UP!

Zo! smiles even more (if the is even possible for him) and turns to Radaszam, "You did pick up a colorful assortment, they will make an excellent show."
Turning to the assembled starfinders, Zo! beams. “Pact World Warriors is an action-packed game show filmed here in my megastudio. Two teams compete in a series of death-defying challenges. The winning team earns eternal adoration from millions of fans—and a cash prize!”
“What will you face? That’s the surprise. A Pact World Warrior can think on the fly, roll with the punches, expect the unexpected!” Zo! gesticulates wildly as he speaks.
Zo! turns his grin at Zoey, "You definately have the right idea. It is all in the show. Skill helps but doing it in style sells it more!"
Then back to the assembled "Well if you don't have any more questions. Let me introduce you to the hosts and have you get ready."
First a female ghost. (not a ghost operative, but an actual ghost) steps forward. "This is Lethea, she has been hosting this show since its inception. Sometimes I think she make events happen just to have something to talk about."
Next to the ghost is a well dressed Emotivore (a shape changing undead) "And those of you familiar with the show is 5 time champion Quell. Now retired and offering his own commentary. But don't let his face fool you. He is just as sharp as wit as Lethea."
The hosts briefly step in and chat for a bit. Quell quips. "Starfinders, well this will be a Stellar show." Lethea responds, "But will they find this path too much, or over come these challenges with explosive bravado that they are known for?"
Pact World Warriors is known system-wide as the foremost display of physically grueling and mentally exhausting trials, pitting two teams against one another in various competitions.
Events on the show frequently change but some recurring themes include obstacle courses, tests of skill, and modified war games. A particularly memorable episode featured a “combat karaoke” challenge in which contestants performed karaoke while battling monstrous aliens.
The show’s film crews supply crates containing useful gear in every challenge, either in plain sight or hidden on the set.
A former host recently leaked plans for future episodes, including a references to “cooking combat” and “capture the flag.”

Unseen behind the mask, Tech opens his mouth to comment about Combat Karaoke, but almost like she's reading his mind Rilynn broadcasts that very same info to the rest of the party, with more besides.
Instead he rubs his hands together, hefts his pulsecaster and winks at his companions.
"I've been getting outta trouble longer than most of you have been alive. Let's see what you got Zo!"

Combat karaoke? Seems impractical. Despite his own uncertainty about the nature of the contests, T| looks up at the lashunta mystic and gives another barking laugh. "They probably have ways to pick up thoughts and include them. Or you could just dance."
He glances around at the rest of the team, then lowers his voice. "Do any of you know any signed languages? I can sign in Ysoki and Common."

Zo! claps his hands "Lets get you to make up get the show started!"
With that the swarm of production assistants descends on the party and you are all whisked away to make up and quick review and sprucing up of your outfits. A few wardrobe ghouls attend and brighten zippers and a few attempt to add additional flair to your outfits.
Zoey is taken aside for a brief moment. A dashing skeletal publicity agent approaches her: "Zo! asked that you get access to some of our more promising equipment. He thinks it will help you and the show greatly. Pick what you want for you or your team."
(Armor): Thinplate (heavy armor), vesk brigandine II (light armor).
(Weapons): Frost subduer (small arm), tactical rotolaser (heavy weapon).
(Miscellaneous): Mk 2 serum of healing
After a regrouping in the green room, you are finally introduced to your opposing team:
Various mini-sets form a mismatched still life. To the west, a raised circular platform housing a comfortable white couch stands in front of several vidscreens. A long newscaster’s desk occupies the area to the south. Two undead chat animatedly in front of a green screen in an open area to the east.
A spectral woman turns to a pale, gaunt man with clawed hands. “Are you ready to meet our contestants, Quell?]/b]” The woman’s breathy voice echoes through the chamber as a skeleton hoists a microphone in front of her ghostly lips.
“[b]I died already, Lethea! I can already positively taste their excitement, and hesitation, and fear! Ah, and that piquant touch of nerves. Simply exquisite.” Quell winks at a nearby camera.
“Well, here they are!” Lethea announces. “We’ve brought both teams together for an exclusive meet and greet. Be on your best behavior, contestants. Our audience cheers loudest for living challengers, if you catch my drift.”

Mia Moxie: (female halfling): Mia hates being underestimated because of her size, and proudly wields guns nearly as big as she is
Rafelo: (male damaya lashunta): Rafelo is relentlessly charming and a first-class braggart
Verity-5: (agender android): Verity-5 is excited to appear on the program, and cheerfully introduces themself.
Shonvyzam: (female vesk): Shonvyzam relies on her intellect and stealth drone to gain an advantage in the competition..
Tillik: (male pahtra): Tillik excels at dexterous and stealth-related tasks

Tech sizes up Shonvyzam's drone, trying to see what it may be capable of and then wanders over to Verity-5.
"Might as well start this off like civilized folk, may the best team win yeah? He holds out on of his hands for a shake.
He looks over to the rest of the rival group and chuckles.
"You all look pretty tough, I think we'll have our work cut out for us. Will just make our win that much sweeter."

Rilynn, looking gorgeous in full hair and makeup, sashays over to Rafelo, her eyes smoldering at the handsome Lashunta, antennae straining at her prey.
"Mmm, I like the look of our competition," she emotes. "I think it's going to be stiff. Don't let me down - I love a man who rises to the occasion when the heat is on. I hope you can keep it up long enough to make for a good show. But I bet you have no trouble satisfying your audience. I'm getting more and more excited for this - my body is tingling." She closes to within just inches of him. How about yours? Her eyes waterfall down his physique. Ooh, your pride is... swelling.

Cool! Zoey exclaims as she is presented with the gear, Mister Zo! is the best!
She makes sure her team is in on this: Guys, guys, looks what we have here!
That one is just way too heavy for me,she says pointing at the heavy Thinplate, but maybe one of you knows how to handle it. That Vesk armor looks really cool... It's super-strong, but you can still dance.
She tries out the flex-rigid-flex effect of the hexagons in the breastplate. This is the real deal!

Zoey looks a bit anxious as the opposing team gets introduced, and swoons when Rafelo come on-stage, trying to secretly throw him a wink. so cool...
Zoey's face turns bright red, and she suddenly feels the urge to check if her shoelaces are tied. Slightly panicked, she hides her face and runs back to Amy. Oooh, I can't watch, she says to Amy, is he looking at me?

Amy's exposed skin is actually sprayed with some sort of fine glitter and little starry motes are placed in her hair to make her look like some sort of 'star princess'.
Unfortunately we don't know that there is any swimming involved in this episode Ms Amy the makeup artist replies but ... if there is, this makeup is totally waterproof. We could give you the name of our supplier if you are interested.
Once back with the others, she turns redder and redder as Rilynn comes out with innuendo after innuendo. Oh Desna ,.... ahhhh .... maybe she was asking me if I was a voyeur ... aaah ... no no no ... She is basically going into a mental panic but is distracted as Zoey tries to hide behind her.
What? What? What's the matter? I ... I dunno ... oh my gosh ... I'm used to having a sheet of transparent aluminum between me and anyone looking at me ... and surrounded by a hostile environment for most people.
She's starting to get really nervous and for a short while there's a performance of 'who's hiding behind who' as her and Zoey try to hide behind each other simultaniously.

Shonvyzam's drone is rugged like the vesk. Although blocky and not sleek like most found in the Pact Worlds. It is in excellent shape and most likely has more punch then most drones of its size.
Verity-5 takes the proffered hand and shakes it vigorously. "This is so exciting. The rest of my team is all business like, but this is a show. No...the is THE SHOW to be on. This will be exciting and I am looking forward to see who wins. But we will see who has the most tricks up their sleeves"

Moxie sneers over at T : "Well at least I don't put shiny belt buckles in my mouth" She then turns towards the vesk. "Shonvyzam! I thought I told you get rid of all the vermin. Do I need to do your job, too?"
The vesk comes over and does a quick look over T. "Nah, Looking at this one, it will just blow itself up soon enough with that gear"

Rafelo eats up the attention of Raylin, Zoe, Amy, and E-T-H. He actually seems charmed by the flustered attempt. "Ladies, Don't worry. When I win I will still respect you. You will have to pleasure of seeing me up close as we take the prize. Something you can tell others about."

"All business eh?" Tech tilts a head at the android while Moxie and the Vesk gang up on T|. "I guess I can be all business too."
His eyes narrow as he turns toward Shonvyzam and he stands a little taller, chest puffed out.
"If anything is going to explode it's going to be that flying brick you call a drone. I haven't seen a design that outdated since your kind signed the pact."
He uses his ecocortex to send the Ysoki a private message over comms: Think that'll boost the ratings?

Zoey notices Amy is just a distraught as she is, and readily gets some encouragement when Rilynn snaps back. Right on, big sis! They're just a bunch of meanies!

We still need a team name, Rilynn sends to her teammates telepathically. How about the 'Knockouts'?
Zoey, who is still sad that Rilynn didn't join her in the group pose, responds Yes! And we need a yell too! Go us! Fighting!

It might have looked like that Amy was giving Rafelo some attention - and it was probably looking that was to Rafelo but in reality, she had quickly decided she didn't want anything to do with him and his ego. She was more worried he'd see her as prey to be chased, caught, and toyed with until spat out and abandoned. Besides, she hadn't had much in the way of an outgoing social life preferring to be a shut in bookworm.
A team name and a pose she replied, striking one. Like this? Although it probably looks better in zero gee. As for a yell .... uh Yay?
