With the proximity of allies, the shot goes wide. the worm looking creature is clearly not a human, and the helper do NOT have precise shot, which incurs a -4 penalty on ranged attacks when the target is engaged in melee

I see now. The spell ID was in a spoiler tag without my characters name on it, so I didn't look. I would not have been confused if, say, you said Tak takes damage from an unknown spell or Tak takes 15 points of negative damage. But the lack of anything directed at my character in the posts, other than the save, left me with questions as to what happened.
