Salvatore’s magic wand fires out more orbs while Steve attempts to club the brute. Meanwhile Larry swings his club dealing a small amount of damage. Finally, Darius approaches, with heavenly light suffusing his eyes. Chanting in the ancient language of the heavens, the golden scythe in his hands almost appears to have a nimbus around it as the Aasimar brings the large blade up and into the side of the Minotaur. It bellows in rage, but quickly loses control of its heavy axe, and then toppled backwards, crashing into the wooden door, cracking and splintering the frame.
The tiefling, dodging a few of the blows also drops his weapon in surrender.

Pushing open the door, this circular room’s original purpose is unclear, but now it seems to be a trophy hall of some sort. A low stone pedestal sits on the floor in the middle of the chamber under a domed ceiling. Atop the pedestal is an iron, barbed cage—and within the cage sits a chunk of softly glowing white stone.
A misshapen half-elf stands ready with her scythe drawn.

The Epic of Kenabres's Heroes
The rod makes contact with the fragment of the wardstone. A green glow pulses at the tip of the rod, and then the world becomes silent and still. And then? The wardstone explodes in a ball of golden light, accompanied by the sound of an angelic choir. Razor sharp fragments tear through the room and into the hallway. Amazingly, none of you four or your helpers seem to be harmed. The priestess however, seems to have vanished completely, leaving only a bloody splatter on the wall.
From down the stairs, a rushing sound can be heard, and more golden light floods in, slamming into WalMir, Salvatore, a furry Darius, and the body of Tak, leaving you all stunned and somewhat disoriented. You can each feel a heat burning inside, as more and more of the energy fills you, washing away any pain or illnesses. restored to full hp, and removing any disease, poison, or curses. For Tak, this will be as the modified Reincarnation spell i mentioned in the discord
Each of you can now see a vision of the first wardstone being erected in the Kite here in Kenabres in 4639 AR, in a ritual involving the aid of the Hand of the Inheritor—the herald of Iomedae: a golden, winged angel with a halo of small swords around his head. You remember it, almost as if you had been there. This event happens soon after the Second Crusade begins.
Another vision presses into your minds. The year 4665 AR, a 20-year-old Hulrun leading the burning of dozens of supposed “witches” in the courtyard of the Kite before the wardstone. This event launches the Second Crusade.
In the year 4692 AR, Khorramzadeh the Storm King is leading a brazen attack on Kenabres. The Storm King manages to strike a resounding blow with his sword against the wardstone, which suffers only the tiniest of cracks as the balor’s sword shatters. Khorramzadeh is then attacked and forced to flee when the silver dragon Terendelev nearly kills him. This event launches the Fourth Crusade.
In the year 4712 AR, you see Irabeth chasing a burly dwarven man—Staunton Vhane you are not quite sure how you know that name, but are certain that that is indeed his name into the courtyard containing the wardstone. Both paladins are heavily wounded, and as Staunton backs against the wardstone, smoke rises and he screams in pain. He ducks to avoid one of Irabeth’s blows, then manages to smash her knee with his hammer, dropping her to the ground. Staunton seems ready to deliver a death blow, but the sound of approaching soldiers forces him instead to back away and summon a fiendish giant wasp that he swiftly mounts and then flies away to the north, abandoning Kenabres.
The next vision is of Minagho, a beautiful demonic woman with a long thin tail, clawed hands, and curling horns protruding from where her eyes should be, placing the wardstone fragment in this room and of Jeslyn using a wish granted by Minagho to create the cage around
it before Minagho teleports away.
You see a vision of an event you know will now never happen—Areelu Vorlesh using a deep purple Nahyndrian crystal the size of a human’s head to corrupt the fragment, causing the entire border to flash with nauseating mauve fire that devastates the border cities and transforms countless crusaders into half-fiend slaves of the Worldwound. Seeing this, you understand the demons' plan was to draw in crusaders, as many as possible, to the border to defend it from their attacks, in order to maximize the damage that the corrupted crystal would have caused.
And finally, the golden light begins to fade. Each of you feels the power of the wardstone and its mythical energy fused to your very essence, though your bodies are still stiffened and unresponsive.
Directly over where the cage had once been, a somewhat transparent beautiful demonic woman with batlike wings, a horned brow, and glowing red eyes appears. Her face twists into a furious expression, "This only delays your kind's extinction. But at least I can take steps to hasten your own."
She holds up her hands, making a complicated gesture. Darius, Salvatore, Tak, and WalMir, you seem to feel no effects, but your allies certainly do. They immediately begin to clutch at their throats gasping for oxygen, that has turned against them. Within seconds, they each fall and lay still.
[b]"The death throes of your wardstone seem to be protecting you from my magic. No matter, They cannot protect you from my slaves!"
With this, she spreads her arms wide, and a rift tears open in reality. A half-dozen babaus tumble through into the room, and beyond them you catch glimpses of even greater demons preparing to enter—vrocks, glabrezus, even a marilith—when suddenly the energy infusing them pulses back outward. The stunning effect releases its grasp of you all, and a blast of energy hits the rift. Areelu screams in pain as her wings are shredded and you hear the snapping of bone. The rift immediately closes, but the threat of the newly deposited demons needs to be dealt with.
In nearly effortless movements, you four soundly defeat the invading demons without even breaking a sweat. literally the book says they have no way of beating you, and you each will gain regeneration 5 for the duration of the combat... so... let's just save a few steps and press forward :)
and this concludes book 1, you now are given another level as well as your first mythic level. this brings you all to 6/MR1
| Darius Coldwall |
Darius will move to each of the mongrelmans side, close their eyes, and day a prayer and then fold their arms over their chest.
These men and woman fought valiantly. We need to give them a proper burial. Darius I will let you take over here. my fellow allies im sorry that I could not be of more assistance. I promise that once I am at full power we can defend the innocent better.
Darius will shift to regular eyes and a slumped over posture

Once we get them proper burials Darius will head back to clean the place up, refill the basins, and work on getting the helmets mended and put back the way it was ment to be
| Salvatore Vasili |
Salvatore will look at the Mongrelmen, Damn, well these guys fought valiantly for a great cause and we will make sure they will be honored accordingly.
Looking to the group, There are a few things that need to be done to be able to clean this place up. We need to fill the water basin, we need to take the bodies of the nobles and bodies of the guards back to Defender's Heart to give them the proper burial that they deserve, and get the consecrate spell on the altar. For the spell Walmir you said you would be able to do that after a bit of a rest, correct? First things first though, we need to talk to Irabeth.
So I say we take the mongrelmen, the nobles and the guards back to town first then worry about filling the basin, then the next day having Walmir cast consecrate on the altar.

Wondering what just happened and what exactly Cihua Couatyl is doing putting him here at this place, at this time, Walmir helps the others with the quick cleanup. Arriving back at Defender's Heart, the place is buzzing with activity. Accounts from across the city that there was a "river of light" in the sky that was flowing from the north and went towards the grey garrison.
A few hours after returning to the Heart, several of the "distraction" teams filter back in. Most talking of a light in the sky and ask probing questions to the group. Irabeth was also with one of those teams and has returned, taking a short break to clean off her equipment and freshen up before meeting with the group. Anevia is practically glued to her side.
"What news? Is it done?"

items less than 500 are now always available. changing the holy symbol will draw some looks of annoyance, but you could find someone that might be willing to exchange the sword for what you are looking for. and lastly, for light armor, MW chain shirt is the best in slot. at some point folks will usually try to get one made out of mithral to decrease weight and armor check penalties, as well as boosting the max dex.
Returning the following morning and getting the garrison cleaned up further. Several troops accompany the group and start working to establish the location for use in service of the light.

Irabeth listens with great interest as Salvatore fills her in on what happened. At the conclusion, he shows her the sword and her eyes open wide.
"How? Where?" She pauses for a moment and reaches out to hold Anevia's hand. "I had never thought I would see this sword again after I sold it. It was a decision that I do not regret in the slightest. I think you may get more use out of it than I will these days."
====================
That night, each of you have a dream. A scarred but beautiful woman dressed in plate armor stands before you. each of you has this same dream, but in the dream it is just you and the woman alone.
"I would like to offer you my thanks and my apologies. You have helped me, and I would like to return the favor in the future, but that is against the rules. Still, you do deserve something." She moves closer, her steps light, but with purpose, until she is right in front of you. She then leans down and presses her lips to your brow. A tiny jolt of electricity sparks and you find yourself awake in your bed, alone.
Each of you will gain a permanent +2 to one skill, permanent +5 HP, and can select 1 feat of your choice (you need to meet the prerequisites as usual), and a +2 increase to one stat of your choice

In the days following The Shattering, many of the other crusaders have come to talk with the four of you. Asking for a retelling of the events at the garrison as well as seeking to join forces to storm the worldwound in glorious battle. Irabeth usually is available to help quash these rash suggestions.
Notably, the enemies in the city have had their numbers reduced to the point that things are starting to get back to some sort of normal again. Small pockets crop up from time to time, but are quickly dealt with.
Reports from cities all along the border have also started to come in, saying that the wardstones in each of the other cities has also been destroyed, but when it happened, it dealt a heavy blow to evil in its proximity.
Perhaps the biggest news however was the arrival of Queen Galfrey and her armies. Thousands upon thousands of road-weary and battle-worn crusaders thankful for a place to rest. It doesn't take long before the rumors of what you all did reach her ears.
A page stands before you now, "My queen has requested an audience with the brave fighters, Darius Coldwall, Salvatore Vasilli, WalMir, and Cannetaken. Should you accept the invitation, my queen has offered to meet at a location of your choosing." He holds an arm across his chest in a salute to you all, and awaits your answer.
