Salvatore has heard of the place before, a local inn to the north east in the city. An older structure made of thick wood and stone.
Anevia smiles, "Oh, let's go then. That's just around the corner from here."

Moving north through the city, it doesn't take long before the large structure comes into view. As the group approaches, without warning, an arrow flies just over everyone's head, the archers above, looking ready to launch more. Anevia hobbles up ahead of the group and holds up her hands. "Silverstrong!"
The archers relax their postures and the door on the ground floor opens. An older gentleman bustling out towards the team.
"Good morning. Sorry about that, but plenty of folks lately are trying to pick up anything not nailed down." He smiles towards Anevia, "You I recognize, but who are your friends?"

Hello, my name is Salvatore Vasili. We all happen to find ourselves in the same area after the attack. We all landed underground and had to fight our way back up here. Unfortunately Anevia here was injured during the fall.

But what do I know?" Tak says, using finger quotes every time he says the word secret. "Names Cannetaken."

my name is WalMir Aandravann, missionary of Cihua Couatyl. I was traveling to this fine city when the attack happened and "fell" in with these fine folks. We've had a bear of a time returning to daylight, thank Cihua.

The man nods to each in turn and waves for everyone to come on inside. At the mention of Anevia’s injury, "Oh dear, we'll have one of the priests take a look at you." He then aids her as they head towards the inn. Turning to Tak, ”A fair point, though most don’t go shouting it in the streets.” He gives a somewhat eye smile to Anevia, who in turn blushes at the realization of what she has done.
Darius detects no evil on the man.
There is quite the bustling atmosphere indoors. Almost everywhere you look there are people. Everything from knights to merchants and everyday citizens of the fair Kenabres are scattered throughout the main floor of Defender's Heart. Anevia and the man head off down a hallway nearby, while another man, with only one arm approaches. "Well met travelers. I see you came in with Anevia, Irabeth will be pleased to hear she has survived. My name is Kimroth Otai, and this my inn. As long as you are willing to keep the peace here, all are welcome to stay." He spots the pile of goods being carried, "Spoils of war, I hope? If you're looking to sell, we have some merchants that may be able to get you all squared away. Otherwise, make yourselves comfortable for the time being if you don't mind."

"Even when being fired upon, unprovoked? I doubt that. Blurting out the one phrase that would stop the potential danger to one's self is the logical course of action. Don't let this guy fool you, Anevia, for their poorly placed security measures. They should post a couple guards on the street level to receive the passphrase and put a leash on those trigger happy archers, who are the ones who really need to be chastised over this. And its probably a good idea to change up your code word."
I'll wait to see what happens with loot before I go shopping. We can add the glaive Tak's been carrying to the loot for sale.

At some point later, you all spot Anevia, moving around quite easily, and without the pained expression you had grown too accustomed to. She is walking side by side with a tall, half-orc woman.
"My dear heart here tells me that she is alive today thanks to you, and a few others. You have my deepest gratitude for this. We could use more like you out there. Those demons hit us hard, but we plan to hit back harder. With the initial blows dealt here, much of the leadership was killed or scattered, I've been able to bring some of them together here, and have taken command of the Eagle's Watch in Kenabres." She blushes slightly as she speaks. "Would that things were different, but someone needed to get things back in line."

As WalMir assists with the healing duties, a few other clerics give him nods of approval. "Thanks for pitching in. We have been getting stragglers from all over the city, plenty of demand for aid, but not enough to go around."
Irabeth to Salvatore, "Yeah, it's not exactly something I wanted to do, but it needed to be done, for now, we just need to hold tight until the Mendevian army arrives. What will you all do now?"

Full plate?: 1d100 ⇒ 20
At the armorsmith the stock is pretty limited, with most of the items being grabbed up as soon as they are ready.
no full plate or "medium armor"

            Salvatore does not see Aravashnial.
WalMir is able to get a simple meal, and notices that there is rationing going on for food. "Plenty of mouths to feed. Gotta make sure our supplies can last for a while."
Darius notices that most of the people here are heavily religious, either paladins, clerics, or inquisitors. A good many of them keeping busy with duties in Defender's Heart. He does find an elven man that is willing to spend the night.
Tak is able to craft his items easily enough.

Salvatore remembers that he does have vital information to give and will let the group know about the letter from the mongrelmen as well as the letter about the attack on the city and let them know he is going to talk to Irabeth if they would want to join.
Salvatore will find Irabeth and let her know if our group and her can meet in private, (not excluding Anevia if she is there).
Irabeth, we encountered the mongrelmen when we were under the city. They were extremely hospitable and very generous in helping us and letting us rest. They showed interest in wanting to help us with everything that's going on but wanted to reach out first before they came above ground. We also fought a group of people with different holy symbols and one of them were carrying this letter.
Salvatore will hand over the letter from the mongrelmen and the letter from S. V. to Irabeth.

Skimming through the note, Irabeth looks more and more annoyed. "Theft of an artifact and secret cultists safe houses. Great. I wish I had more resources to be able to send knights out to clear these locations, but we're still trying to gather everyone in." She pauses, and looks at the four of you. "You all seem fairly capable, would you be up to the task of scouring these nests?"

With the battle plans laid out, the group departs from Defender's Heart and heads to the west. Following along the wall, it doesn't take long before a breach in the heavy stonework is located and everyone is able to climb over into New Kenabres (name of the district the Tower is located in).
Approaching the location you find this sixty-foot-diameter gray stone tower is missing the bulk of its upper floors—some terrific force smashed its upper sections away, creating huge mound of rubble north of the building and leaving the tower now a mere stump with a jagged top.
