Please post your discussion ideas here.
Also, please add in the following:

Player Name:
Character Name:
PFS# of (default) character to apply this to:

* Note, I say default, as the way chronicles will be applied is that they can be put on any character, regardless of level of the character or the book. You can change book to book which one you apply to, but I will try and ask at the end of each book who you'd like it applied to.

Thank you.

Oh, and go ahead and dot-and-delete in the gameplay thread.

Thanks!

I'll be setting up a LOT more stuff this weekend...

I would strongly recommend reading the players guide and picking your backgrounds from there.

There's a good lot of information in there.

Are we going to try to come up with a party together, or are we each making a character and just seeing what we have?

Scarab Sages

I would like to cooperatively consider our party together. Feels like a smart choice for PF2. I was considering a melee blitzing kind of character myself No class selected just yet.

I'm currently leaning towards a Rouge/Sorcerer arcane trickster style-ish with various charisma skills.

I've also got a variety of ideas for different fighting style fighters.

Also if nobody else is considering bard I could do that as well...

NG Male (He/His) Human Sorcerer 5 | HP 43/343 | AC:20 (21 w/shield) | F: +10 R: +10, W: +12 | Perception: +12 (E) Default Exploration: Detect Magic | Hero Points 1/3

Here is what I have made up so far.

@Tyranius Are you considering straight sorcerer for this build? Looks fairly solid.

Yup straight sorcerer (Runescarred)

It sounds like we're a little light on healing so far. While I'm not anxious to make a healing-focused cleric (since that's what my -2001 society character is), I may explore a champion of some sort.

Contributor

I could go warpriest cleric. I haven't done a cleric yet.

Contributor

Oooh, I love the Haunting Vision background.

Okay, I'm thinking a warpriest of the dwarven pantheon, because I really love the pantheons. Haunting Vision background.

I am reading the guide, and some things that stuck out to my mind while reading it are the following.

Deity: Any religion that doesn't help the dragon influence.
Lore Skill: I like the Darklands Lore, as that has always interested me.
Race: Dwarf might be good for a Darklands kind of Lore spelunker.
Background: Truth Seeker sounds like it would compliment this concept very well, and would mean my character probably gets into trouble digging around where he shouldn't.

So combining all these together, a Dwarf who grew up on knowledge of the Darklands and heard of a hidden secret near Breachill, I have quite the investigative character.

Since the party could use some more potential healing, I think I will go for a Druid since it can compliment all of these elements well enough. I also have yet to play one so it strikes my fancy.

I keep changing my mind on what I want to do every 5 minutes or so. I'll be back in a few hours with something more concrete.

Giving up on this? I have been having a lot of fun with mine. So many options that you can go with it.

Not no much given up as have too many ideas bouncing around in my head.

I think I need to write them all down and then go about crossing them off until I'm down to one. Was slightly worried about bard or sorc arcane trickster type over lapping with your character too much although I think those are mostly silly worries.

Yup, I wouldn't worry about that at all. Play what you are going to enjoy as mine is going to be focused a lot on crafting runestones and talismans. The two won't overlap :)

Grand Lodge

He/Him

I'm leaning toward either Champion of Irori w/Monk dedication, with the Dragon Scholar background, or a monk/cleric combo (recreating a character from Doomsday Dawn).

I've now drifted to elf Monk w/Wizard dedication (Dragon Scholar); we'll see if I can make this work.

You guys should have fun with this! Make some characters.

I assume that the only person to have read/run this is Tyrannius?

Also remember that in 2E healing can be mundane.

The two best healers in my other game is a rogue who's now got continuous recovery, ward medic, battle medic, and assurance in medicine (E), and a bard with his signature sooth spell.

I am thinking about using tension dice (or whatever they are called)... just to keep things moving.

What is that?

Well, if you take more than 10 minutes after an enounter, I throw a d6 into the pool. Each time I add dice to the pool, I roll them... if any come up 6s, something happens. The more 6s the more dramatic.

That certainly sounds tense with time-based mundane healing.

Aragelda Silvernail never intended to become an adventurer.

She grew up the middle of three daughters of miner parents in the Five Kings Mountains. Ever since she was a young girl, she dreamed of fire. Concerned, her parents took her to a priest who declared that she was seeing divine visions, perhaps related to her future. Fire could mean she was destined to be a talented blacksmith or a renowned baker. As she came of age, her parents tried apprenticing her to different artisans and crafters, but she never really had a talent for any of it. With her well-known sweet tooth, she certainly enjoyed working for the baker the best.

She became betrothed to a young priest of Dranngvit with her family's blessing, but before her wedding day arrived, the dreams began coming more frequently. She finally realized what the fire was: not the fire of a forge or an oven, but the breath of a dragon. She was too afraid to tell any of her family about the dreams, even as they started to come every night.

Finally, a week before the wedding, she dreamt of a town burning. She could even see the name: Breachill.

Aragelda didn't know what she would be called to do, but at least she knew where. And when the gods give you a mission, you don't say no.

She came clean to her family and explained that she needed to go on this divine quest. They all agreed, including her husband-to-be. They gave her many tokens of the dwarven gods in hopes that all of the pantheon would watch over her on this dangerous mission. Finally, her mother bestowed on her the warhammer of her grandmother, a brave fighter.

Aragelda set off for Breachill with no idea of what lay ahead, but knowing that at long last, she would find her destiny.

I looked at some stat blocks and the gazetteer from Book 1 for formatting purposes while writing Siege of the Dinosaurs. I tried to avoid reading the actual content, and I never looked at any other volumes.

Finishing up prep for the game I'm running tonight overtook character building, should have things up by tomorrow, or possibly late tonight.

I'm down to Gnomish trickster, either rogue or bard.

I've tried a little on my other table... it isn't ok... just means you don't wanna sit in a dangerous area for 3 hours while you heal. Becomes less of an issue as you level up.

But, if folks are opposed, I will not do it.

Starting to finalize the idea for Ingraham, and working in a story for his background I decided to ultimately go with.

I will have it finalized tomorrow, but I feel like going Wild Druid with Reputation Seeker is what is playing out best in my head.

I was just thinking about how rough high-moderate and sever encounters can be (mostly based on my experience in Fall of Plaguestone). If we're adding pressure not to fully heal, that sounds like a recipe for a rough time.

All that said, if you've tried it in another PF2 game and it didn't break things, I'm not opposed to the idea. You're the one that's seen it in action, so I'm happy to trust your judgement on the matter.

Raised among goblins Gideon has become incredibly famous, in very tiny goblin circles for his excellent skills as a playwright. Writers block however h as struck hard recently and Gideon has gone on walkabout hoping to meet many a different goblin tribe to help get inspiration for his next play.

Locally to Breachill is the Bumblebrashers, a curious tribe... perhaps where inspiration lies.

Ingraham grew up on the boundary of the Darklands, and was one of the many diggers of his small nomadic clan that hailed less than thirty. He found himself easily attuned to the natural world around him, and learned one day that he has the ability to transform his hands into badger paws. Clearly a sign of some greater calling, his big brothers told him of the Call for Heroes in the nearby village of Breachill. With a shovel on his back and a farewell to his family and friends, he set out to go and find his glory and fame with this call.

FYI - I've set up some of our play and tracking tools. They are bookmarked at the top in the campaign summary areas.

tactical maps and handouts
This where the maps, handouts, and character art will be.

PC Summaries and Backgrounds
This is where each of you should, one per page, add in your character information, especially skills that are typically "secret rolls". Second column is room for your character background (which we can give additional pages to if needed), and a running story for your character.

Treasure Sheet
Quite simply, this is where we'll be tracking treasure.

Of note, since we are going with 5, everything will be getting bumps for the extra player, just to let you know. Also, I will likely put you on occasional side-quests and the like, at least partially based on your character backgrounds, etc.

Once we get this paperwork set up, then we can get started with the AP introduction!

Oh, and a couple of things on your character sheets. I much prefer that everything be outside of spoilers, if you can help it... just helps me to quickly find things. If they are in typical (Hero Lab or otherwise) stat blocks, more the better, but that isn't required. Just as long as it is very easy to read for all of us.

As for taglines, this is my preferred tagline. Again, as long as this information is easily found on the tagline, I am open to differences.

It would also help if in the Gender spot you added your character's pronouns, so that we are explicit. Thank you.

Quick question on Davian Runegleam. It seems that he is a local scion... is this because all of the town has basically adopted him? Or something else?

I think I will be launching the game tomorrow (Sunday), if everyone is ready.

NG Male (He/His) Human Sorcerer 5 | HP 43/343 | AC:20 (21 w/shield) | F: +10 R: +10, W: +12 | Perception: +12 (E) Default Exploration: Detect Magic | Hero Points 1/3

He has been living in town on his own for the majority of his life on his own. I wouldn't say anyone has adopted him. He mainly sets up a crude shop that he sells trinkets to heroes and some of the locals purchase from him as they know of him and that he needs food and a place to stay.

He watches the heroes come and go with fascination. The town is certainly aware of him, helping him where they can.

Dark Archive

Fury's Toll | MotD

Ok, I get it... and about what I thought.

They help him by buying his trinkets, whether they need them or not.

Dark Archive

Fury's Toll | MotD

As an FYI, the Call for Heroes happens at noon.

Your character could be anywhere in Breachill, if that is what they want. I’d like the intros to be in the open (not spoilered) even though most of you don’t know each other. I will try and weave your intros together, when it makes sense, or wait until the Call when it doesn’t.

Enjoy!
