Emili Vhaddruddr |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |

Yeesh, what’s a fellow gotta do to get some credit for putting folks on their backs around here? XD I tease - mistakes happen.
”Whoa there!” Emili instinctively ducks as the arrow flies overhead, then turns his attention back to the goblin chieftain. ”Rude!” He cracks his whip again, this time trying to catch the goblin’s bow.
Disarm, Whip: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 5 + 2 = 23
”Hah! Take that you little rotter!”
If someone wants to get down there and help the lovely chieftain, I’d hate for him to not get his bow back. Truly, it would be the worst thing in the world. XD

Whip, Trip vs Chieftain: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 5 + 2 = 18
I'm assuming that trips Gutwad, but if it doesn't Emili will stay in place and drop prone to avoid a third arrow.
Emili grins as he hops down from the walkway and makes his way around the fallen chieftain to stand between him and his fellow goblin. Dagger in hand, he drops his trusty whip at his feet and balances lightly on the balls of his feet. "Whenever you're ready, Oni!" he calls cheerfully. Let's see how lucky these little blighters feel!"[/b]

Emili Vhaddruddr |

Are Yellow and White still active threats? Their tokens are still present on the map.
Emili leans over the prone goblin chieftain. ”Remember those sheep your tribe took two moons ago?” he asks, twirling his dagger before grabbing the hilt and plunging it towards the goblin’s chest. ”This is for them.”

Mitsuru Hisakawa |

GM, I got healed up to full in between the fights, so I'm at 6 hp, rather than 1.
Holding her side where the spear wounded her, Mitsuru grits her teeth and stabs down at the horrible creature at the same time as Emili's finishing blow.

As you finish searching the last few rooms you find no more goblins, but inside H11 you find a beautiful red chest which contains:

Talios Yintargo |

"We still have some magic in the wand if anyone wishes to be healed, I think the storm of goblins has passed. Especially seeing as their Chieftain lies before us. We still have a lot of questions but have made the roads much safer." Talios says looking over the battlefield, ensuring all the goblins are dead.
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27
As he surveys the battlefield, he realizes this wasn't the first fight.
"There was an equally violent battle here, before ours." he says worried, but with relative safety he will head back through the buildings to give a more thorough search.
"Going to take my time searching the buildings now that we aren't fighting our way through." he says to the group.
Going to look through all the rooms, using Detect Magic. I can make Perception checks or just Take 10 for each room to be quicker.

Oxnard Kettlebeak |

I will double check the book tonight, but I believe everything that counts as "treasure" or interesting features of the rooms has been found/posted already

Mitsuru Hisakawa |

Mitsuru leans back against one of the house stilts, catching her breath. "Longest minute of my life," she says. "Good thing we weren't the first through here, if this is what was still left waiting for us."
After a minute to rest, she pushes off and stands up straight again. "How's everyone doing? Should we take all this back to town or press our luck in the swamp?"

Kaijitsu Tenchi |

Tenchi cleans his blade and then says "A decent fight, but Goblins are not exactly foes that will lead to an epic."
At Mitsuru's question, Tenchi says "I am able to continue."

Emili Vhaddruddr |

Emili nods as well as he coils his whip and hangs in once more from his belt. "Guess a battle earlier would explain why all the goblins were hiding in their houses," he drawls rhetorically, "but were the ones here the winners or the losers of that fight?" He taps the red chest with one hand and continues in a more direct manner. "You don't think it was over this beauty - or what's inside it, do you? We can take it back to town with us and see if anybody can make sense of that map. Maybe Sandru - he's probably traveled enough to recognize something."

Talios Yintargo |

"We could continue but carrying the chest through the swamp or leaving it here, seems unwise. Perhaps we can go meet Sandru, as Emili suggested. Also turn in these goblin ears before they start to stink..." Talios chuckles as they plan out their next move.

Mitsuru Hisakawa |

Mitsuru makes a face once she notices the ears being cut off for their bounty, and turns away. So...barbaric, she thinks. "I agree, Talios. We've certainly made the swamp safer today, and I don't want to walk around with unpreserved...remains...any longer than strictly necessary."

Kage Kurai |

Kage Kurai nods. or at least, his hood shifts. It was probably a nod. "I'd rather we weren't trying to haul all of this around the swamp while we keep exploring. Could I keep those, by the way?" he asks, gesturing to the shuriken.

Oxnard Kettlebeak |

Encounter Check: 1d100 ⇒ 84
Deciding to return to the village and get rid of heavy/disgusting items first, you make it back through the swamp, where you are able to triumphantly turn in the ears including the Chief and claim your reward.

Rin Kaijitsu |

"There was an equally violent battle here, before ours." he says worried, but with relative safety he will head back through the buildings to give a more thorough search.
"A copper that the fight had something to do with the humanoid skeletons. Hopefully this map can lead us to more information."
And another post eaten by the forums :(
"A bath would be nice." Rin replied to her brother with a stretch. "As would cleaning my equipment." The Red Oni quickly attempted to recover.

Oxnard Kettlebeak |

Later that evening, after repairing to your individual living areas to clean up, you return to the Rusty Dragon Inn, where Ameiko has poured you all a round on the house.
"It's truly wonderful that you found the goblin den so quickly! With Chief Gutwald gone, I am sure the goblins will bother Sandpoint no more. Tell me, was it difficult fighting so many goblins?"

Emili Vhaddruddr |

Oh, did we not want to use the inventory tracker that's part of our caravan spreadsheet?
"Eh, we did alright," Emili drawls as he casually lets his shirt hang open to reveal several bandages covering his arms and torso. "Would have been a lot closer if Talios here wasn't on the ball with his healing touch." He winks at the samsaran and pours himself another mug of ale, raising it before tossing it back. "Cheers to the doctor!"

Mitsuru Hisakawa |

We made out with quite the haul, didn't we? And that's without the bounty factored in!
Laughing, Mitsuru raises her own mug and knocks it against Emili's. "Couldn't have put it better myself!"

Rin Kaijitsu |

Rin gave her own silent cheers to Talios as she brought some food for the group. "Well I'm just glad you were all able to make it out alright. I was so worried. I would have been mad at Tenchi forever if he finally came home just to get killed by some goblins." The young woman said with a teasing smile to her twin.

Talios Yintargo |

"Well, I am certainly glad I had you all to keep the goblins at bay! They have given me enough scars for this lifetime and I don't want them giving you any but tonight is for celebrating! Cheers to all of us and our future goblin hunts!" Talios says raising his own drink with an embarrassed smile.
Still, beneath the surface he wondered what else was lurking in that swamp.

Oxnard Kettlebeak |

Ameiko places another ale before Talios, then looking to the group askes, "So you plan to go back into the swamp to hunt for more of them? Or was this enough of the adventurous life for you all?"

Emili Vhaddruddr |

"Well, there was certainly a scuffle in that village before we got there," Emili replies slowly, sipping his ale thoughtfully. "Suppose there could be a few more survivors that come back over the next few days. I'd hate to have to track them all down through that swamp though. But there was also that... Oh, Ameiko, you've been around too - can you make any sense of this?" He places the fan on the table, careful to avoid the patches of spilt liquid so the barkeep can see the map drawn on the backside.

Talios Yintargo |

"It certainly seemed that there was more to it than just the goblins we found. If it is another tribe or something else, then they are also a threat to communities around here. I am duty bound to look into it, personally." Talios says sipping on the next ale.
"And having you all along would make it much safer. What does the Red Oni have to say about it?" he asks the mysterious person who initially brought them together.

Mitsuru Hisakawa |

"We will have to ask our most mysterious ally if and when she returns," Mitsuru says as she takes a sip, avoiding even a glance in Rin's direction. "But I agree, there's certainly more going on than the usual nonsense goblins get themselves into."

Oxnard Kettlebeak |

Pending things you know of in the swamp are the witch, the swamp monster, and the trail from the Goblin village that led off towards whatever had attacked there; pending party decision on where to head

Talios Yintargo |

"That witch sounds risky but more talkative than any of the goblins still scurrying around. I say we head back to the village and continue after the trail there. Might encounter that thing lurking in the swamp while we are at it."
