Diplomacy here.

So, what's the plan?

I believe we have three proposals.
1. Soleil proposed a boyfriend-related bar fight.
2. Valentina proposed making a fuss about fake pearls.
3. Bocke proposed calling in the cops about the fake pearls.
I think we should agree on a plan before entering the tavern.
I actually vote for (1). Sorry, Bocke. This idea is the most fun.

Soleil's strongest applicable skill is bluff, hence she suggestion the ruse with the "jealous boyfriend."
Magmara's best skill is disable device, which is probably not helpful in this case, but she's pretty decent at diplomacy.
Plans as thrown out thus far are:
1. The jealous boyfriend ruse leading to one or both men being chased out of the tavern or a full-scale bar fight.
2. Tip the authorities off about the fake pearls so they raid the place.
Unless we have other plans, we're voting between these two or looking to combine them. I see no reason not to combine if we feel it's possible. Might involve some party-splitting, though.
I actually vote for (1). Sorry, Bocke. This idea is the most fun.
Thanks! I felt like it had a lot of fun roleplay potential as well :=)

I think we should start with the jealous boyfriend routine, because that way if somehow we fail we have a back-up plan. And because it's fun!

![]() |

Sounds fun to me, too!

![]() |

I'm game with the boyfriend plan. For what it's worth, Rex's Bluff to convince others that a lie is true is +9.

I think Rex playing the boyfriend is an excellent idea.

![]() |

I'm very confused. I thought we were doing the jealous boyfriend routine?

![]() |

OK, I didn't realize we could attempt two things simultaneously! Cool. Question how this works, does the majority of us need to pass each check, or do we only need 1 pass for each level of difficulty? Or what?

![]() |

I was just making a flavor post. My mom actually found a pearl when we were eating oysters in North Carolina a long time ago.

![]() |

Neat!

![]() |

Sorry Soleil, hope it’s ok that you are on the Kortos agent’s lap. :-/ Read your clarification too late.
No worries!

![]() |

Bocke's idea was to trick him into handing over a formula and a sample, and then we just walk out.

I think we need to destroy the formula.

![]() |

... The alchemist is open to you now. So you can approach him. Move your icons as you see fit.
I took the liberty of moving everyone forward. If anyone wants to adjust your position, please do so. Just make sure to leave Rex within 25 feet of Laszo.
Let me know if you want me to mind thrust him. I can do so for nonlethal damage if we want.

Find his lab and bring back samples of unrefined whip, along with the alchemist's notes. These we can use as undeniable proof to the authorities that the Aspis Consortium is experimenting with the drug in Diobel.

Magmara |

If Bocke can simply get the book in hand, Shamus has the hex to teleport him away, so a grab and run option, perhaps followed by Rex knocking the alchemist out immediately afterward with some mind thrust magic, is a definite option.
Soleil and Magmara are just waiting to smash the bugs if things go sideways.

We can take his notes, formula & samples of the drug, but that won't stop him from making more. It will however, fulfill the requirements of our mission.

Question: movement rules say I can jump up to my strength score... which is 8. Does that mean I can jump across the sludge in the middle or not? It's only 5 feet wide, but technically it takes 10 feet of movement?
oooh if we do decide to start combat, can one of us start by shooting the bottle in his hand? Whatever it is, it is probably dangerous since he is threatening to use it against us.

Not this one-trick pony.

![]() |

LMAO

![]() |

I'm so sad I couldn't play my Rogue in this adventure - she is a very social build and much better at Bluff than Valentina!

![]() |

Do you think the Kortos agents are aware of the drug experiments on Diobel citizens? If not, they might not appreciate those actions by the Aspis?

![]() |

I think telling them is worth a shot. The fewer people that are attacking us, the better. By the end of the fight, it will be clear we're not interested in attacking them, so it's now or later.

How do we move our little pics of our PCs from one slide to another? Id like to be behind the boxes near the number "1" on the warehouse map.

![]() |

I just copy and paste.
If you tried that and you couldn't see anything, it's possible that the picture pasted in some weird corner. Not sure what the algorithm is for placing the picture, but as far as I can tell, it's RNG-based.

Copied and pasted you there. I think I got you in the right spot?

Thanks! Exactly where I wanted to be.

So, are we just hung up waiting for Luc's declaration?

![]() |

I think so.
I moved Luc's token on the map.

![]() |

I made my save vs. negative energy so I should have only taken 3 hp damage, not 6.

Thank you, Nowruz! My first 1e PbP. I had a ton of fun!

![]() |

Many thanks, GM Nowruz! That was very enjoyable. :)
And thank you to everyone else for some terrific role-playing, especially Magmara/Soleil and Valentina. Your characters are enviably fun.

Thanks guys! This was super fun, especially the roleplay!
I'm surprised (but thankful) there was so little combat! I used all my fancy tricks up in the last battle. :)
I'll be taking a break from new RPGs for a little bit (my partner is thinking I spend too much time on them.... but how many concurrent games is REALLY too many? LOL)
...but thank you to GM Nowruz for offering to run this for me! I have been missing Pathfinder (all my friends want to play 5e all the time now :p)
