Is the color of Quinoline's key still red? And is Astrid still in the pillar, or did she emerge with key?
You still emerged with a key. But it is instead orange/copper in color.
@Crafty, Not yet, but the trap did spring, just not acted yet. Which alcove are you going to attempt to deactivate.
| PFS 2 GM ZD |
Yep did not see that.
Crafty moves up disabling the sensor. As he finishes up. he is teleported out of the room. Crafty finds himself in a lovely field full of flowers in bloom.
Poisonous pollen is magical sprayed in the alcove where Quinoline stands.Quinoline needs to make a basic fortitude save DC 27. A critical success is no damage. A failure is 4d6 + 4 ⇒ (3, 6, 3, 2) + 4 = 18 poison damage. On a critical failure instead of taking double damage, you only take the failure damage and drained 1.
Astrid, while trudging through the field of snow, begins to get warm. The temperature begins to increase to where she feels she will spontaneously combust. Astrid needs to make a basic fortitude save DC 27. A critical success is no damage. A failure is 4d6 + 4 ⇒ (4, 2, 3, 3) + 4 = 16 fire damage. On a critical failure instead of taking double damage, you only take the failure damage and dazzled for 1 hour.
After the trap
Quinoline is able to rig something up to distract the magical sensor. Doesn't say otherwise, so I am guessing it only takes one action. So you have two left in this round.

Trap
Few notes to add to this complex encounter. Those of you that have been "teleported" will be dumped out at the end of you turn with key in your hands. Astrid, yours will be blue. Crafty, yours will be green. Those with keys can attempt to place them in key holes as an interact. And turning it will be a separate interact action.

Quinoline attempts to place the orange key in the pillar, but find it does not fit. One action left
Actually, looking over how it reads, I will say it releases you at the beginning of the turn. To me it seems too harsh not to give you an opportunity to get away from the damage if you want to.
Astrid returns to the plane, a bit snow burnt, but alive with an icy blue key in hand,
Crafty returns as well with a green key with flowers inlaid on the handle.

Zhao is able to befuddle the magic sensor.
I'm going to go ahead and call it. The sensors reset after five minutes and you all found the method of opening the vault.
The PC's place the key into the pillar of the opposite season. They each snap into place and can not be removed.
On the count of 3, On three, never after three, the agents turn the keys. A powerful wave of primal magic washes over the room, originating from the alcoves. It momentarily stuns Herondal due to his fey lineage.
The vault door swings open, revealing a heavy portcullis, which retreats into the ceiling to reveal yet more doors. All in all, seven massive vault doors in row open in the span of seconds.
Lelzeshin waste no time and heads into the heart of the vault.
Do you hang back and heal yourself before proceeding or follow Lelezeshin in?
Quinoline Silicate
|
Quinoline is heading in to the vault with her shield raised. Lelzeshin's eagerness to go in after not helping us get in is making her very suspicious.
Quinoline thinks heading in without healing is okay. She can Battle Medicine Astrid on the way in if Astrid wants, but she doesn't have anything for dazzled, which is probably the worst part of her damage.

Fafrd sits back and watches the team excel.

I hope those that attended GENCON had a good time. No back to our regularly programmed scenario
Beyond the seven vault doors, a breathtaking sight awaits—a sheer endless array of riches and gold, all surrounding a pedestal, atop which a wooden circlet rests. The circlet sprouts flowers and leaves that flourish, wither, and die in an endless cycle.
The Agents enter the vault, Zhao and Astrid hang back to avoid being spotted by Lelzeshin.
Lelzeshin speaks with a hint of sadness, “Believe me, I am very sorry. I wish there was another way. But I need to lead my people into a new age. You see, I will thwart you thieves and coincidentally discover the truth of the vault. I will usher in a new age for Bhopan. Rest assured, your sacrifice will not be in vain.”
