With Tenzo back destoned, Doormouse skips over to the ape and bites at his wrist. The blood is thick and rich, but still flowing and nourishing.
"I think we need to rest for a bit. Maybe we can buy a spell to make it a nice nap instead, but I am out of basically everything. What do you all think?"

![]() |

"I think that if we take 8 hours, the guy we're chasing is going to get away."

![]() |

Doormouse takes a break from stress drinking to suggest a course of action.
“Well, I guess we can go back and I’ll buy a scroll of Nap Stack. Vos can cast it, then we can hoof it to find the Red Rooster.”

![]() |

Breathing heavily, having used their Demon Ichor wand to restore much of their injuries and aches as they travelled to and from the Galtan mansion, Kai nods at Doormouse's suggestion.
"I'll get one too In case we need one later - these fights so far have really taken a toll, we need to sharpen up if we're going to catch the Raven and the Sword - despite the Decemvirate's and Captain's incompetence in letting it go in the first place."
Heaving a sigh, they prepare for the trudge back to the mansion.

![]() |

"That's a pretty good plan. We should get some anti-poison stuff while we're there, since I'm pretty sure his followers were shooting like an assassin, so poison wouldn't be out of character for them."

![]() |

Kai strokes their chin before nodding ”You’re right, doesn’t hurt to be overprepared and not need it - only to be underprepared as Janira would say!” they chuckle, remembering the Halfling helper to the Masters of the three schools. ”Would be nice to have things go our way at least once though!”

![]() |

How typical. The dwarf thinks as he picks his way across the wreckage of the house.
Just pop over and pick up the message they said. as he kicks aside a fallen something that may or may not have belonged to someone attached to the body.
An easy note pickup that has become a little search for the missing pathfinders he was sure was involved in this. It usually happened that way. He partook of it far too often himself. Truth was, he enjoyed these sorts of situation. Not one for quiet entrance, they probably would have heard him miles away. Them and likely everything hostile.
Coming across the group who seemed to have taken a recent battering, he raises his softly glowing rune engraved axe in greeting.
"Well met, I be Boron of Clan Boulderstep and I was supposed to be picking up a message from this owner,Eddie or something. Would you like the blades of my axe to aid?"

![]() |

A small halfling girl rummages through her pockets and pulls out a tiny pointed white object.
“Yeah! A gorilla threw me at a wall and knocked one of my first teeth out! Now I have to go bury it in the woods so a tooth fairy doesn’t come to my house.”

![]() |

"So Care to update me on what we have to do next? Be warned that I speak gibberish to most when in a fight." the dwarf speaks as he sets his axe down carefully.
Have played this before so we can assume that you update Boron on what's happened briefly. He just needs current plans. He's not one to look to far ahead.
"I have some ability to heal and have spells to help in combat. I also have a nasty spell that does wonders to an undead creature..I'm also somewhat adept in combat having in teams that has seen a fair amount of close combat fighting." Boron explains as best as he can on his on skills.

![]() |

“In short, we got attacked by the Red Rooster and his men stole a Pale Maiden. They ran into a magical maze that had a Medusa guarding it and she attacked us. She got her friends to help her and that hurt a lot. Now we are doing back in. When it comes to combat, I like to hang back and duck in and out to surprise people by pelting them with spells. Felver and is mount Tenzo seem to like slugging it out close to bad stuff. Umm when you say speak gibberish, what do you mean?”

![]() |

"I speak the language of the Celestials and Abyssals when times are stressful." Boron responds bluntly.
"A curse I was born with."
"I am skilled in the nuances of several other languages during my various travels and voyages."

GM_Ammordius |

Eliza gives sort of a curt reply, Well, with you and Tenzo getting stoned all the time, I figured Boron could be of some assistance.
You best resume your journey into the Maze. I'd hate to think the one who attacked my home gets away...
Finalize any purchases and we'll pick back up on the trail in the maze at the next development. Its been about 3 hours since the last encounter, when you're ready to reenter the maze.

GM_Ammordius |

The pathfinders, with their new companion, reenter the maze.
Eventually, the Red Raven’s trail leads through the winding, leafy corridors of the Maze of the Open Road until it comes to a solid oaken door mounted on what otherwise appears to be a dead end. Your magical divinations reveal this door is a portal, and it bears no lock.

![]() |

Doormouse looks genuinely surprised by this question.
“Could I? Ummm, maybe. I’ll try it though.”
Perception: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (19) - 1 = 18
I’m not sure if you could even trap these doors with all of this dimensional gunk and magic stuff on it. But then again, I don’t know much.
After giving the door a once over, Doormouse opens it up to slip through.

![]() |

I'll sneak forward 30' ahead from the group. Just in case I get jumped by something one of my tattoos will rip itself off my body and hang out with Tenzo. Once I start moving I'll cast Invisibility on myself which will last 10 minutes. If we travel longer I'll let it drop.
1d20 + 45 ⇒ (1) + 45 = 46
1d20 - 1 ⇒ (1) - 1 = 0
WOW, just wow.

![]() |

I'm sorry but rolls on floor laughing.
Boron hefts his axe and follows in after the others.

![]() |

The rolls were so bad I didn’t even say what they were. The first roll is invisible stealth, the second is my perception check as I move. With a zero, I guess I forget that I’m moving once in a while and people bump I to me.

GM_Ammordius |

Map updated, please put your PC info into the discussion Boron
The winding tunnel opens onto a high platform overlooking an enormous chamber lit by distant torches and small clumps of phosphorescent fungi. A relatively flat floor about 20 feet below falls away into a black abyss at the center of the huge chamber, bridged by a thin natural span at the center of the room about 40 feet away.
Several torches light the bridge, illuminating a tall human warrior in red plate armor pacing nervously, sword in hand. You can just make out the forms of archers along the far ledge, and lurking shadows near the close edge suggest skulking humanoids somewhat larger than an average man. Immediately east of your high platform, about 20 feet below, is a pool of dark liquid, perhaps fed from some natural spring.
He doesn't immediately notice The Doormouse, and she somehow doesn't notice him either until it is too late but he does notice the rest of the party behind and calls out,
State your business or be slain!”
Without waiting for a reply, he appears to be drawing steel.

I will move out of the spell effect and cast Black Tentacles as well targeting the two casters in the back. As I'll use my swift to cast Stone Shield between myself and the human on the bridge. Boron gets 10 points of healing from all of this.
Despite being caught completely by surprise the tentacles fail to wrap around Doormouse. She knows it was a stroke of luck that she is free, perhaps some latent magic in her blood that might have once been that of a halfling. She escapes the rubbery forest to and casts and indignantly casts a spell, becoming visible.
"I really, really wanted to talk about this. I don't care about Adril or the stolen sword. I just want to know what's going on and then go home but I guess everyone dies now."
First, that casting NEEDS to stop.
Tentacle Time: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (16) + 15 = 31

Tentacles and stone sprout from the ground to harass her enemies and shield her from harm.

GM_Ammordius |

Boron breaks free feel free to move where you'd like with your remaining move action. I don't think with your move speed that you would be able to get to the front.
The Doormouse casts black tentacles on the two attacking spellcasters, but unfortunately, only the elf is snared.
The humans nearest to you come out of hiding as they let loose a volley.

The Doormouse send the red archer into the chasm, and you don't hear any sounds of him landing.
Kai struggles to cast a spell but ultimately succeeds. Unfortunately, a tentacle strikes him in the face just before the teleport, and an error occurs, taking him, you know not where!
Tenzo struggles against the black tentacles, unable to free himself. Felver turns invisible, hoping he will somehow be able to wiggle free.
In a happy coincidence, Aquana appears as she comes out of the tunnel, just in time to see the black tentacles. You're adjacent to Tenzo and Felver. Black tentacles are blocking your path.
