Frowning as mere Humans seem to be avoiding their blows, Kai taps their Blade, once more enchanting the edge to make it more deadly to their foes with electricity arc along it. +1 Enh, keen and shock. Starting with the Human wearing blue, they begin their dance of death.

Kai then hops back to avoid being surrounded.

Kai spits after taking the hit and seeing the mirror duplicates vanish one by one. If I can't knock em away, I'll fry em!, and lets forth a shocking grasp that lives up to its name. As the blue tattooed human is cut, he starts to arc and lights up, before his eyes go permanently dark. The green tatooed human similaries falls under two blindingly fast attacks.

The orange and purple tatooed humans retaliate against Kai with their viscious spiked chains, starting with a signature trip that leads to simultaneous attacks, and followed up against the prone Kai.

Kai makes a trio of attacks including a force punch, starting with orange and moving onto purple. The first force punch sends the man flying, and he lands on the ground, he winds up unconscious or dead. Kai's second strike renders purple unable to move as well when combined with The Doormouses's strike.

A huge section of the massive ruin topples onto the causeway as the building’s titanic occupant stirs into action. With a ferocious, simian scream the form pushes its way through the rubble and into the open air, revealing itself as an enormous carnivorous ape with foul breath, a jaw full of teeth as long and as sharp as swords, and brightly glowing, deep red eyes. Around its neck is a thick leather collar from which five broken lengths of chain dangle and clink. The creature looms more than 20 feet above you, screaming with savage fury in your direction.

The massive ape creature appears to start making its way toward the group. It starts to head past the Doormouse, but its large nostrils sniff, and it stops, looking rather ominously at your small companion.

Kai:
You immediately recognize the creature from their prior encounter in the Mists of Mwangi, only now he is much, much larger. Da’Tunga seems to recognize you as well.

Vos chose to forgo offensive songs and focus on supporting himself instead. He activated Inspire Greatness mainly for the Fort save bonus, but the temp hp (8) don't hurt either, then defensively cast Invisibility.

I’ll pop up some cover and use Impromptu Sneak Attack to zap a spell then move away.

Doormouse looks as if she is about to flee but holds her ground, for a moment. She summons a small wall of stone to protect her and fires off a spell at the snake.

Catching a flicker of movement, Kai attempts to avert their gaze from the snake headed monster, though unfortunately they weren't quick enough. Grunting in pain as the Ape gives a squeeze, the Magus sighs. "Nice Monkey, please put me down? Working their arm free they strike the Ape. Fuelling themselves, they feed arcane power through their veins in to focus their blow.

While Doormouse would not be able to know this, the snake lady is almost certainly a Medusa. While she might not be able to see Felver in the mist, you can see her because of your Goz Mask. Looking at a Medusa is very bad. If Tenzo is in the mist he might not be able to see her and so he might be fine. Felver, unfortunately, is probably in a lot of trouble. Is there a reroll you could use?

Is that wand going to take 3 rounds to cast? I understand that you have 5 Con left and this poison has a 50/50 shot at killing you, but we need damage on the board right now. In those 3 rounds Felver will be a broken statue, Kai will be a used tube of toothpaste, and I will be run down and obliterated. We are dangerously close to a TPK let’s focus on what needs to get done. As an alternative plan, you cast Freedom of Movement on Kai and instead of attacking with Battering Blast I hit us with a Mass Fly and we jet out of here.


Felver and Tenzo turn to stone on the ground at the edge of the mists.

The large ape appears to uncannily dodge The Doormouses's attack, much to her chagrin.

Can’t go down permanently with all these boons so I’ll pop my fire elemental blessing and cast Fire Snake. I will 5 foot step and have my tattoo familiar jump off of me and use the cover of the building to pop its head out and tell me where the snake lady is to allow me to direct my fire snake to strike her as well before I cast. DC 21 Reflex for half.

Doormouse steps to the other side of the building and concentrates. The ink on her skin animates and leaps off of her then heads over to peek at the snake lady so that her master can direct her spell.

Breathing heavily and wincing from the bruises and heavy burns suffered from the Medusa's final attack, Kai watches as Doormouse rushes to Vos' aid and then moves towards the petrified Felver and their companion. "Well, yet another tough one survived by the skin of our teeth... someone really does not wish us to succeed. I wonder if there's a way to break this" they say bitterly as they make sure the statued agent isn't cracked. Taking you their ichor wand, they begin to use its magic to soothe the injuries suffered.

Having encountered a basilisk before, Vos takes some of the medusa's blood and rub it on his petrified allies. He doesn't have any knowledge skills or bardic knowledge, so he's just going with what he's seen work before.

He will then spend a couple of more minutes using wand charges to heal his wounds.

Kai's knowledge reveals that a Medusa's blood has no restorative properties. A stone to flesh spell seems the most prudent remedy.

You find numerous places in the small building where it is obvious that statues once rested. Finally, you find the lair. A narrow set of thin stairs leads some 20 feet up to the surface of a large raised platform just off the main causeway. The white marble structure bears significantly less damage than most of the other buildings in the courtyard. Dozens of humanoid statues crowd the open space around the foot of the stairs.

The trail of the raven leads forward, and is easy to follow forward.

But something tells me we're going back to the lodge to fix our statues. If you feel the need to recover spent resources, but don't have the time to rest, Nap Stack is a very convinent spell for achieving this.

She moves over to Felver and kneels down. She bites down on her hand hard and smears the blood over her face. As she begins to chant she grabs some of the dirt from the ground and similarly rubs it on her face making a thin layer of mud. As the spell reaches its crescendo, the bloodmud pulls itself off of her and attaches to the petrified paladin, causing him to return to life.

After 10 minutes you're able to journey back the the entrace to the maze. You track down and find Eliza, who gasps upon hearing of the outcome with a Medusa in the maze. She asks you wait momentarily, and provides three scrolls of stone to flesh to the party. After another 10 minutes, you're able to get back to Felver and the petrified Tenzo.
