Here is the previously mentioned discussion thread.

I discovered my catfolk is level 2 (3 XP). The last scenario was run by a teen who forgot the chronicles so I never received it.

What I think would be awesome for a Ganzi is the Morphic Savant (I said I like complicated archetypes, right?) or the Twinned Summoner (not complicated).

The risk with a paladin--although there are a few brooding archetypes that modify the code--is how it plays with a non-evil cleric of Urgathoa (obviously it can be done).

Doy, that would be hard for a paladin. That’s also not fair to Ursula, er, Aurora!

I’ll check those out, thanks! :)

The Waking Rune

Checking in with GM alias.

I've some experience of playing followers of evil deities alongside paladins in PFS. I think the key is to make sure that I'm emphasising the more reasonable aspects of the deity, as well as my reasons for being a Pathfinder.

Nana Grilka is my cleric of Lamashtu. Except she's a separatist, and she doesn't recognise her goddess as a demon lord. She serves "The Holy Mama", a goddess of motherhood and childbirth. Nana is a total sweetie, and a bit mad. She's traveled with many paladins, and considers at least one of them dear friends :)

Tooth & Claw is my divine verminous hunter follower of Achaekek. He tried to become a Red Mantis Assassin, but they wouldn't let him in (backstory). He's highly lawful, never kills if he's not getting paid for it (except in self-defence), and is Sovereign Court because of Achaekek's bar on the killing of rightful monarchs. He's a tengu romantically attached to a lady tengu in Tian Xia but committed to his duties as a Life Senator in Taldor and as Mayor of Ravenmoor. Paladins get along just fine with Tooth & Claw generally because of his emphasis on lawful behaviour and opposition to wanton killing.

Aurora is first and foremost a hedonistic glutton desperate to sample surface foods and new experiences. (If you have the Agents of Evil book, the Pallid Palate sect fits her). If you want to bring a paladin I can work with that ;)

Grand Lodge

1 person marked this as a favorite.
Nagaji Oracle of Battle 9 HP: 84/84 | AC: 30 T: 13 FF: 29 CMD: 24 (+10vsDisarm) | F+10 R+6 W+8 | Init +7 (Roll Twice) | Perception +14
Tracked Resources:
Wand of CLW 29/50 | Wand of Shield 45/50 | Wand of Faerie Fire 48/50 | Spells: 1st 7/7, 2nd 7/7, 3rd 6/6, 4th 4/4

As the father of her eighth child, Rasamoro can vouch for Nana!

I’ll give paladin more thought, but right now a grapple focused aberrant eidolon looks appealing!

Season of Ghosts

Checking in!

Re: Paladins & Problems - I'm playing a paladin in a Curse of the Crimson Throne game right now and a big suggestion from both the GM and the updated player's guide was to focus more on the 'Good' aspect of paladin alignment than the 'Lawful', given the themes of the AP. So far it seems to be working okay, but of course we've only just begun so who knows?

Re: Character Options - GM Blake/Zith expressed interest in either my Catfolk Oracle or maybe my Leshy Hunter. I think my Catfolk is at 2 XP and the Hunter is at 1. Most of my available options have at least 1 XP on them except for, I think, my Grippli and maybe my Samsaran.

Re: Additional Player Suggestions - Are we looking to go with 5 players and 1 GM at any given time? Depending on whether or not Hepsubia and/or Parison take up the boon offers, I could give some names of some of my players at my League table to see if any of them would be interested.

| Extinction | url= |

At least 4 + GM for legal table. I think 5 + GM would give more flexibility in class choices ("Oh nos. Our only healer is GMing!"). I wouldn't mind 6 + GM if they all as cool as TL;DR.

GM Ladile, I'll echo the advice of the others and just play what you think'll be fun! I'll fill any remaining gap with either the Ganzi or my skill-oriented Kobold (whatever fits best!).

Also, GM Blake, I think since you're the one who is dying to finally play your Catfolk, I should be the one to GM first!

Just missed the edit time limit!

Adventures in character building:
Unchained Summoner - the grapple focused aberration eidolon looks fun, but low starting strength for the eidolon and the RP I have in mind will probably get a little old for me (would be sort of a cartoonish villain with his summoner)

Paladin - Chaos Knight sounds cool as all hell, but is a lack luster paladin. Nothing else really stood out to me for a Ganzi. Going whole hog "against the character's inner nature" is a little too on the nose for me.

Oracle - Dark Tapestry looked thematic, but only so-so mechanically. Heavens is a classic, but I think in tandem with our debuff cleric, doing the whole color spray+awesome display thing would be way too powerful or entirely useless. With PFS's penchant for humanoids/outsiders with class levels as bad guys, I suspect this would turn most fights into handwave territory (that doesn't make me happy and I think anyone focused on dealing damage would be bored as well with their endless coup de graces).

Sorcerer - This is where I'm at currently and it sounds pretty fun and thematic. Warped wildblood for Aberrant looks fun. A Ganzi with the Void Touch oddity, Long Limbs bloodline power, and a slurry of touch spells/debuff spells in combination with a debuff cleric sounds really fun. Enemies would be debuffed to absolute hell, but not be so debilitated that they can't take a turn (like the heavens oracle above). With a whole skill point per level, even though we'd have multiple charisma focused characters in the party, they wouldn't be a face character (umd ftw).

Dark Archive

active effects:
Merfolk Cleric 4 | AC 19 T 11 FF 18 | CMD 11 | HP 31/31| F +7 R +3 W +8 | Init +1 | Perc +3 | Channel 6/7 | Divine Vessel 5/6 | Death's Kiss 6/6

Dark Tapestry oracle has certain niches. My elf ancient lorekeeper is focused on Many Forms - which synergises with the flight, armour and vision revelations very well. I find the 'attack' revelations a little bland and underwhelming.

Bad touch sorcerer is nice.

As I was developing a character tracker for the campaign, I thought we could add back-up characters to the list if we wanted. E.g. Gummy might play his Ganzi or his Kobold depending on the scenario rather than feeling locked into one, but we'd have an idea of who was in the roster.

Gummy Bear wrote:

Nice of you to offer, but I'm also dying to GM for you guys. :)

Also, more importantly to the function of this experiment, the path to level 3 is going to be a little rough. We'll have to make use of the 1-2 Evergreens if we can (I can GM credit Confirmation and both play and GM level 2 credit on Wisp and Consortium), make use of low level modules maybe, and maybe repeatable 1-2 AP books but those last two can be expensive if you don't already own them.

I really want to run the Pallid Plague for supervillain because it plays against Aurora's concept, but I don't think it should be the first game.

| Extinction | url= |

Not necessarily for first session, but what are people's opinions on Crypt of the Everflame (evergreen 1-2)--boy that would be weird with this group concept--Murderer's Mark (evergreen 1-2)--I love this one--and Gallows of Madness (evergreen 1-2)--I can still GM that one for level 2-3 credit.

Season of Ghosts

I've never played Crypt of the Everflame or Murder's Mark so my preference would be either of those. Of course I don't mind playing Gallows either, though I did just recently finish the whole shebang with a different character.

(Who, amusingly in light of this, happened to be my leshy alchemist. Still need to get her leveled up from the 3rd + bonus chron.)

Keeping a few 'alternates' for each player in the pool of characters sounds like a good idea to me.

Potential Players:

Regarding potential players to ask, I've currently got the following folks at my League table:

chadius
GM Lorenzo
GM Red
Massee
Nomadical
Socalwarhammer

I don't know if any of them have any suitable low-level characters but they're all fairly regular posters and good to speak up if RL is keeping them away from the forums. Socalwarhammer, in particular, has periodically asked me if I know of any other low-level steady groups that could use another player. That said, I have no particular preference - though I do ask if anyone has any reservations about any of the above, please PM GM Blake instead of posting them here. Just to avoid any potential drama/hurt feelings :)

(And GM Blake, if you want a more detailed analysis of anyone in particular, let me know and I'll PM you.)

I’ve never played murderer’s mark! I’ve played the other two. My only gripe with the crypt is the final fight as a group of level one characters. Otherwise, I’ve enjoyed them!

Maybe a scenario, then two modules? We’d be level 3.1 after that, but modules typically make for better extended RP IME. I wouldn’t mind dming one of the modules for the group either. I figure after we hit level 3.1, the roster of possible characters will solidifying as players and the party get into a groove.

The Waking Rune

I have played Wisp and Consortium at level 2.

I've run Crypt of the Everflame but not played it. I've played parts 2 and 3 of Gallows, but not part 1.

I've never played Murder's Mark.

I don't mind stumping up for a module or two, especially in the current pdf sale :)

| Extinction | url= |

OK, revising my thoughts, so if we have Gummy GM Wisp or Consortium (I can't play Confirmation at 2) first, then I can GM Murder's Mark--I've played it and happy to run it--on slow track, which would leave me still legal (by 0.5 xp!) for someone to run another 1-2 module (Crypt of the Everflame, Godsmouth Heresy, Emerald Spire 1 [only if you already own it!], or, does anyone own a copy, Heroes of Highdelve) that I could do on slow track to put me a 3.1.

| Extinction | url= |

I suspect we'll need at least 1 of Ladile's League group.

I just put a link at the top of the campaign called 'Potential Recruits.'

It links to a Google chat. I can then delete the link and the chat when we're down with it so we can be sure nobody's feelings get inadvertently hurt.

Season of Ghosts

It's sounding like it might not be relevant with the plan to include modules, but after doing a quick look it looks like I've:

Played Consortium Compact @ 2nd Level
Applied Confirmation GM Chronicle @ 2nd Level

I also own the following modules, whether for now or later levels:

Carrion Hill
City of Golden Death
Crypt of the Everflame
Dawn of the Scarlet Sun
Doom Comes to Dustpawn
Down the Blighted Path
Feast of Ravenmoor
From Shore to Sea
Masks of the Living God
Murder's Mark
Risen from the Sands
The Dragon's Demand
The Gauntlet
The Harrowing
The House on Hook Street
The Midnight Mirror

The Waking Rune

Module-wise I own;

The 'Razmir' trilogy
Feast of Ravenmoor (just finished running it in pbp - awesome module!)
Dawn of the Scarlet Sun
Risen from the Sands
The Gauntlet
The Ruby Pheonix Tournament

Of these I have played City of Golden Death and Feast of Ravenmoor, and ran Crypt of the Everflame and Feast of Ravenmoor.

I don't have the Emerald Spire, but I can make any of the others work! I can run Wisp or Consortium, whatever people prefer.

Having played Crypt, I propose:

Gummy runs Wounded Wisp (or Consortium if people prefer)
Blake runs Murder's Mark
??? runs Godsmouth Heresy

GM Blake, your hangout doesn't open to a specific hangout for me, but I think if GM Ladile has a player who has voiced interest in a low-level, steady game, we roll with them!

The Waking Rune

If we plan to do Godsmouth Heresy, I volunteer to run it. Looks like it could get a little awkward for an Urgathoan, even a non-evil gourmand variety ;)

| Extinction | url= |

Sounds like a plan.

Since I haven't played Onye at 2nd level, and having reviewed Prowler at World's End once more and subsequently realizing that the two abilities that I was most interested in Prowler come at 1st and 11th level, so I'm going to switch to something else martial for his 2nd and subsequent levels. Probably Brawler (exemplar) so I can inspire courage with my awesome martial prowess! ;)

| Extinction | url= |

Gummy: That's odd. I see you in there. Supervillan suggested another candidate for consideration.

I *think* I'd vote for Wisp over Consortium just because Wisp is more "we be adventurers" and Consortium is more "we be intrigue," but I do believe there is potential for water environments in Consortium.

EDIT: Consortium (EDIT EDIT: actually, this applies to Wisp, too) - A cat, a fish, and a spirit-animated-anthropomorphic twig walk into a bar... ;)

More EDIT EDIT: We're not doing it, but for those who have run Gallows Part 1, can you imagine the reaction of the tavern owner to this group? ;)

Prepping my game! I'll plan for level 1 APL as of now.

Onye, level 2 Brawler
Aurora, level 1 Cleric
Ladile, level 20 GM (your character is out of tier, please find a new one)

There are soooooo many handouts, yeesh! No wonder I had no idea what was going on the first time I played this XD

Ladile, when you have a chance, would you like to ask Socalwarhammer if they would like to join this campaign?

EDIT: Or would you like me to?

I've got a new one in the works that might fit the bill better:

Elidal, Level 1 Cat Servant

;)

Anyhoo, I PMed Socal an interest check/invitation; if he bites I'll have him check in here and over at Gummy's table!

| Extinction | url= |

Thanks! :)

Season of Ghosts

Socal is in! I've directed him to check in here and over at Gummy's table when he gets the chance :)

*edit* For some reason I thought that Maria/GM TOP was interested in this too but looking back through the Discussion over at TL;DR I see that I was mistaken (or at the very least they didn't really say yea or nay to it). Socal, myself, GM Blake, Gummy, and supervillan makes 5 total. I'm good to roll with that but if we still want one more player I'm good with that as well.

Lol @ GM Ladile XD

Yay for Socal!

I'd prefer to have 5 players at a time (eclectic group and a gently rotating cast), would you mind inviting the other player from the chat too (assuming others agree with my preferences).

Grand Lodge

Hello!

Hello and welcome! :D

I see you've found the thread for the Wounded Wisp and you've dotted in! Once GM Ladile dots in (and an additional player if that's what we decide), I'll get an opening post up :)

| Extinction | url= |

Welcome! It's a campaign of ecclecticism. :)

Season of Ghosts

Glad to see you made it here, Socal! :)

Unless we're waiting on someone else, I'll kick us off on Monday!

| Extinction | url= |

Sorry, was flipping to nights and that always hits me hard, especially weekend nights because as soon as I wake up I’m being handed the kids.

I don’t mind more. I’m also good with 4 players at a time. With both supervillan and Ladile having someone who can use a wand of CLW, we don’t have to worry about healer coverage. We might be short martial damage when I’m GMing, not sure. However, if we did take more, my preference would be 6 over 5 since adjustments are 4 or 6. However, I’m not sure how quickly we could recruit two more quality players.

| Extinction | url= |

That said--man, I'm so tired that I can't get my whole thoughts out in a single setting--if someone who's played with Yours is Minded wants to invite them to this campaign before we start Gummy's Wisp, I'm cool with that.

Haha ok, I'll shoot them a message. I'll start up the game anyways so people can get opening posts in.

EDIT: PM sent!

The Waking Rune

Welcome Socalwarhammer :)

Have you by any chance played the City of Strangers scenarios? Looks like the rest of us haven't so they'd be a great follow up to Godsmouth Heresy. Also are you on pfstracker?

| Extinction | url= |

Yours is Minded declined Ladile's invitation (too busy), but did offer to guest GM sometime so we could all be players at the same time. :)

That'd be great! :)

Season of Ghosts

Yeah sorry, I didn't get around to passing that message along here (mentioned it in the Hangout) quickly enough. But yeah, YiM said he'd be happy to GM something for us sometime once the Siege of Gallowspire special is done.

In other news, I'm good with just 4 characters at a time but like Blake, if we want more than that I'd prefer 6 over 5 for adjustment purposes. Anyone else I reach out to I'll give them the option to join us for the next adventure after Wisp finishes, that way they'll have time to get a character ready and Gummy won't have to slow his roll GMing waiting for more people to pop into the Wisp game.

And if we end up sticking with just 4 players at a time, I'd be willing to start shunting my GM credit more towards a specific couple of characters in order to try and keep them available for this table as needs require. Once we gain a few levels (which will obviously take some time) I'll also have my leshy alchemist available as an option for the table.

| Extinction | url= |

You all interested in playing Down the Verdant Path? At least one person would need to use a replay, but the tracker didn't tell me who. I figure anything with a Fey theme aligns with this eclectic group.

In that vein, what scenarios would you really like to play with your lovely snowflake?

What scenarios have you played that you really like but would spend a replay on?

| Extinction | url= |

P.S. If anyone knows of a scenario where the Pathfinders work with catfolk, let me know. I am unaware of one.

Dark Archive

active effects:
Merfolk Cleric 4 | AC 19 T 11 FF 18 | CMD 11 | HP 31/31| F +7 R +3 W +8 | Init +1 | Perc +3 | Channel 6/7 | Divine Vessel 5/6 | Death's Kiss 6/6

I've played Down the Verdant Path. Wouldn't mind using a replay though, it was pretty good.

I'm definitely up for Pallid Plague, as I think you suggested upthread :)

Would like to do City of Strangers 1 and 2 after Godsmouth Heresy.

You Only Die Twice is one I'd like to play :D

Here are some watery scenarios I haven't played:
1-31 Sniper in the deep
9-24 Beneath Unbroken Waves
From Shore to Sea (module)
Seers of the Drowned City (module)
Skull and Shackles (AP)

I don't have any serious preferences tbh, I'm ok with just rolling with whatever comes up! :)

I agree that some of the more silly/less serious scenarios works best with how we would like to play these characters. Also something that isn't notoriously lethal! Race boons aside, none of our characters strike me as the "ready for hard mode" type and I think that we all have other characters to enjoy that kind of scenario.

| Extinction | url= |

Heh... my Unbreakable Fighter Half-Orc with the Zealot feat chain. I made him too unbreakable! He never uses the Zealot feats! He used Diehard at level 1 when he got knocked from full to negative in one hit by a bugbear and then that was it.

Yeah, he was designed for Hard Mode.

You want to play or GM City of Strangers 1/2, supervillan?

The Waking Rune

Don't mind whether I play or run City of Strangers. I haven't played them yet. If I run, then it'd be 5xp worth of GM'ing on the trot, but I don't mind that if you guys don't. We could return to Kaer Maga for other adventures later (eg Beyond the Halflight Path, which is repeatable).

If we're thinking about some silly scenarios with maybe lower lethality, Frostfur Captives is fun (I'd need to use a replay or GM it, but that's ok as long as I'm not GM'ing constantly. Overflow Archives is kind of silly but very fun (again, I've played but not run it and would be happy to replay).

It looks like you guys haven't played Night March of Kalkamedes - that is something we should remedy. I wouldn't say it's an easy scenario mind you.

GM Blake wrote:
my Unbreakable Fighter Half-Orc with the Zealot feat chain.

I know what you mean. I have a half orc melee alchemist with a one level dip in Unbreakable fighter, and just the first Zealot feat (Deathless Initiate). Can keep going at full power till -24hp :O

Season of Ghosts

Let's see...I've already played Down the Verdant Path, Frostfur Captives, and Overflow Archives but enjoyed them all and would be happy to spend a replay or GM any of them because they're all fun scenarios.

I've GMed Night March of Kalkamedes via PbP three different times but have yet to play it myself and wouldn't mind doing so - it's a lot of fun to run if you got a group that'll get into it and roll with the punches.

Never played either of the City of Strangers scenarios.

I actually just finished running From Shore to Sea late last year as a separate game for the folks at my League table. I'd be happy to play it myself or possibly GM it again.

As far as potential requests from myself go I'll have to give it a think but I don't have anything that immediately springs to mind.
