All of your attacks find their marks, and one of the spectral undead shrieks and fades away. The other two strike back at Adolina and Declan!

7 damage to Adolina, 11 damage to Declan. Both must make a DC 16 Fortitude save or become addicted to opium. If they become addicted, they immediately suffers the drug's negative effects: 1d4 Con and 1d4 Wis damage. Everybody may act!

"You idiot." She claims, simply as Tanjona intervenes.

"Sorry about him Adolina, we haven't been as lucky to benefit from much magical healing on our own missions." Rose says, watching Declan closely before he does anything else ridiculous.

"Either way, that could have gone worse. Let's keep going shall we?"

Once you are healed up, you move on to the doors to the west. This oval-shaped chamber is dominated by a twenty-foot-deep pit. Narrow ledges, only two feet wide and slanted toward the pit, run along its edges. Two rusty iron winches sit to the east and west sides of the room, connected by a length of sagging, moldy rope that hangs over the pit. Thick growths of pale yellow fungus grow in the pit, amid the bones of what appears to be a long-dead giant snake. The fungus has reached the central portion of the southern ledge, but hasn’t grown that high on the northern side.

Knowledge (dungeoneering) DC 15:
The fungus is dangerous yellow mold. Disturbing it causes it to release poisonous spores. Fire can destroy the mold.

Knowledge (engineering) DC 15:
The winches have seized up. Anybody trying to use the ropes to cross the pit will likely cause them to break, dropping them into the pit.

Perception DC 20:
The northern ledge bears a trap, a hinge that will drop anybody trying to walk across it into the pit. (Disable Device DC 25)

He then points to the winches, "We can't use the ropes. The winches have seized and we'll drop like flies down that pit."

Turning and pointing to the northern ledge he adds "Also. Looks like that ledge is rigged to drop into the pit as well. Someone clearly doesn't want us across this."

The fire destroys the mold, allowing you to use the southern ledge to bypass the pit.

Two pillars support the ten-foot-high ceiling of the next chamber. The floor is decorated with five-foot-square colored tiles, the reds and yellows and blues and greens faded with the passage of time and appearing to have no real pattern. The mangled skeletons of two people lie slumped in the center of the room. Another door provides an exit on the far side of the room.

"Now isn't that an interesting decorating choice," Farrina comments, eyeing the floor skeptically. "Wait," she says as one of the others moves to enter the room. "If there's not a trap or magic here, I'll eat my best scarf," she says. The quick words of a well-practiced cantrip flow from her lips and she looks over the room with eyes that can now see magical auras.
