Nice. Thanks for that. Anyone want to be up on top of the gatehouse?
As the group reaches the gatehouse Stanislav steps out from the side of the building and hurls an alchemical fire at the woman in the second rank. He hopes to burn many with the splash, including the two oxen who might begin to panic and move away from the lady on fire or at least rear up and foul their harnesses.

Vinnick will, as his allies make their move, cast fog cloud on half the group, to sow even further chaos and confusion.
I marked it on the roll20 map with a square outline.
He then moves his minions up to the front to support his companions.

Stanislav Greymist |

My initial (surpprise) action assumed that at the gates were open as I through the alchemical fire through. Slid also through a missile weapon in that Ghast Retch.
It would be ideal I guess if one of the gates were closed. Not sure we would have done that as it might have given away the surprise.

Coriandrinne "Cori" Vespida |

I agree with Stan. If we were able to get ahead of them and lie in wait, the best plan would be to leave one door of the gate partially open, just big enough for one person to pass through, and the other door closed and barred, spiked, or something very heavy in place to keep it from opening. I don't know if we would have had time to do this, though.

DireMerc |

Ok So going with the doors were partially open at the start of the fight options then. Unlikely you could effectively bar the door shut before they arrived.. I redid the map again as I needed to make the enemies into tokens by removing them from the map and making them separate entities. as Such it will look a little different now but is still mostly the same layout.
Stannis manages to hit the middle-aged civilian woman in the middle with his alchemist fire. He Burns her badly and she screams and the man and the young girl next to her as well as the oxen behind are burned as well.

That was the AOO that missed. Will wait to see if he is still up after the tiger's mauling before he acts. Vinnick, It is my understanding that you only get to rake if you 1) pounce, or 2) begin your turn grappling. And if you begin your turn grappling you can rake but not make all your other attacks. You can do bite damage when you succeed in maintaining the grapple.

Both Ajikisshochraos and R'yzztyg reach the gate, and climb to the top of the solid stone tower, and lie flat as possible to hide themselves from the slow approaching caravan. They whisper to each each other deciding which targets will be there first.
Ajikisshochraos decides to use her breath on the red hair warrior closest to the tower, but aiming her acid blob to land between the ox, and the warrior, so to avoid damaging the attacking zombie, and the ox, and possibly the villager at the same time.

It seems that I am much more effective in combat in the GM's hands.
Slid looks to the others, then at the survivors hungrily. He has no intention to let the others live, maybe feed them to zombies.

Stanislav Greymist |

The trick now is to loot the bodies without being eaten by the undead. Stanislav offers. I do hope they have something worth this extra trouble.
If we are out of initiative can we grab a few bodies, focusing on the casters and fighters, before shutting the gates?

DireMerc |

You grab the two tiefling girls and move the wagons forward out of the gate before closing the gates.
The wagons contain a decent amount of loot, Vinnick points out the magical stuff and identifies it.
The wagon contains 2 weeks’ worth of trail rations, a barrel of fresh water, six skins of ale, and a matching +1 composite longbow (+3 Str) and +1 defending longsword, each wrapped in oilcloth. A slender crate contains a masterwork short sword and a masterwork rapier, each with a red leather hilt. Another, larger crate contains a suit of +1 studded leather and a suit of masterwork chainmail; both suits of armor have decorations that resemble feathery wings.
A handy haversack contains a potion of eagle’s splendor, a potion of fox’s cunning, a potion of owl’s wisdom, and a ring of protection +2. A velvet bag on the wagon’s seat contains two wands: a wand of cure moderate wounds with 33 charges remaining and a wand of lesser restoration with 13 charges remaining. Finally, a leather bag tucked beneath the wagon’s seat contains 310 pp.
The fighters defending the convoy had.
1 masterwork Falchion, 2 masterwork shortswords, Mastweerwork Longsword, +1 chain mail, 2 masterwork chain shirts, masterwork longbow with 27 arrows, alchemical silver arrows (5), darkwood flute, 2 potions of cure light wounds, 630 gold.

R'yzzntyg Valignatirnarod |

She instructs the elemental to push the survivors away from the wagons, and also the strige to help keep the survivors away. Ajikisshochraos decides to join the summons, and mock threaten the survivors that she use her breath weapon, if they approach. R'yzzntyg remains on top of the wall, watching the approach of the undead. Once the wagon is through the gate, with Ajikisshochraos in tow, and the gates are closed, she glides down to the wagon with Ajikisshochraos already rummaging through the wagon contents looking for treasure.
Not much in the gear for R'yzzntyg to make use of: ring of +2 protection, potion of owl's wisdom, and the cure potions.
Does anyone have the link to the loot spreadsheet. I lost the web page when my computer crashed. Discovered I did not bookmark it, when I restarted the computer.

Stanislav Greymist |

If he could choose one item Stanislav would also take the +2 Ring of Protection ring. He is a front line fighter in light armor that usually uses a two handed weapon, so no shield. Even though Stanislav is a fighter he is limited to light armor based on his archetype. So he cannot use any of the chainmail. The masterwork chain shirt is a slight upgrade for him. It does not change his AC or armor check penalty but allows him to benefit from an 18 dex if he improves his dex by 2. So put him down for one of the two sets of masterwork chain. He will donate his masterwork laminar leather to the loot list. And he can use the +1 composite +3 strength bow as his strength is 16. He can donate his non-magical +3 strength bow to the loot list. None of the weapons interest him.

![]() |

Fine with me. The only usable item for me is the potion of eagle's splendor for social interactions. Maybe the chain shirt, the AC boost is good for 1 ACP trade-off. I'm fine with selling what we don't use.
Slid looks at R'yzzntyg and asks "Why are we letting them get away?" He seems annoyed.

Coriandrinne "Cori" Vespida |

"The zombies will get the peasants," Cori replies with an unconcerned shrug. "One of the others escaped, but since we were using our pendants, he won't be able to identify us by appearance. All in all, I'd say it was a good day. We've made a tidy profit from this little excursion, and rid the world of a few more self-righteous prigs."
