It never rains but it pours... My grandfather fell off a tricycle today and hit his head. He is in the hospital, possibly on his death bed. Most of the things keeping me from pbp have been positive life things but this one really sucks.

![]() |

I'm sorry to hear that.
I'm hoping your grandfather pulls through.

Extra clues found so far. Inscriptions or such.

My grandfather passed away this morning. I am going to travel and spend the next week with my family. I will have a lot of time on my hands so might still post here and there, but I won't be •trying• to keep up. Don't wait around for me and bot me as necessary.

Thanks; I edited my post to reflect the crosspost and use of that clue.

Each miniature lion is portrayed in a different way. One crouches as if preparing to ambush its prey. The second is roaring as it leaps at prey. The third wears a yoke that is chained to a large block that the lion strains to pull. The fourth wears a tiny pair of spectacles and reads from an ornate scroll. The fifth is draped in the flag of Taldor. The sixth sits erect and wears a crown.
The sixth sits erect and wears a crown. <---Nobility.
The fifth is draped in the flag of Taldor. <-- Lion King, Loyalty.
The fourth wears a tiny pair of spectacles and reads from an ornate scroll. <---Lion Scholar? History
The third wears a yoke that is chained to a large block that the lion strains to pull. <--- Lion Bull. lol Nah this is Perseverance. I saw this similar sculpture somewhere in Rome or so.
The second is roaring as it leaps at prey. <---Lion Hunter.
One crouches as if preparing to ambush its prey. <--- hunter?
History has first in its line.
Cunning has twice in its line.
Persevere x3? Got to be third.
Loyalty has end in its line.

Seems good to me!

GM Zin |

If this is the strategy, we need someone to implement it in Gameplay.

![]() |

I'm missing the last two.
I'm sure one of them is cunning but which one?

![]() |

There are only four recesses for the statues - i think 2 of them are red herrings.

GM Zin |

Also, we are nearing both the end of this scenario and Outpost III. I can't guarantee that we'll finish on time, but we're close if the posting rate stays up. Either way, I need to report by the end of the Outpost III on 5/18.
Please roll a d20 here to see if you have earned a boon; rolls of 19-20 win. If you win a boon, please roll a d3 to determine which boon, and then PM me your email address; I need to include that on the reporting form so they can get your boon to you.

![]() |

boon?: 1d20 ⇒ 18
so close!

![]() |

boon: 1d20 ⇒ 14
Nope not me.

![]() |

boon: 1d20 ⇒ 8

![]() |

One crouches as if preparing to ambush its prey. <--- hunter?
This fits cunning most. Any objections?

![]() |

There are four gaps and your working out here:
History has first in its line.
Cunning has twice in its line.
Persevere x3? Got to be third.
Loyalty has end in its line.
Looks good, and I don't disagree with the statues chosen - The two prowling Lions don't seem to fit. I vote for going as is

[dice=Boon?]1d20
Don't forget to roll 1d3 to determine the boon you get.

GM Zin |

[dice=Which Boon]1d3
And PM me your email address; they'll need that to deliver the boon.

I will work on Chronicle sheets this weekend and post here when they are up. If you have a reroll left and want to use it on your day job check, you can do that now.
If you have any purchases, or other training, spell scribing, etc. that you want recorded on your chronicle sheet, let me know. I can also answer questions about any faction goals if you're working on a Faction Journal Card.
This was not a combat-heavy scenario, and you did quite well despite your lack of a bard a strong research focus in your party. The one room that you didn't enter had a possible combat encounter that you avoided by not searching in that room, and you successfully solved the lion-statue puzzle that would have summoned attackers had you failed. Had you stayed too long, you also could have encounted Lion Blades that might have resulted in combat.
Given the party makeup, I was kind of rooting for you to fail the puzzle; I suspect everyone would have enjoyed rolling d20s to attack instead of read for once. But, not fighting kept you quiet, and that also contributed to your success.
Oh, and the Taldan Cipher texts were related to a Grand Lodge faction mission that didn't come into play.
Thanks to all of you for playing; look for Chronicle sheets soon.

I really need to get Ēoswulf some ranks in a day job skill.
Regarding faction cards, I am guessing we will "Gain access to a unique or variant item during the course of an adventure whose rules are printed on your Chronicle sheet"?

GM Zin |

Yes, Glorymane definitely meets that requirement.

![]() |

Thanks for the game GM, and everyone else. Sorry I was absent for so much of it.
It turns out I've already maxed that faction goal. I'll have to find another one

![]() |

Going to buy a belt of Giant Strength and check this box on my season 6 card:
Visit a city other than Absalom with a population of 5,000 residents of more. While in the city, purchase or sell an item worth at least 100 gp per character level.

GM Zin |

Working on Chronicle sheets; they should be up today. Aldran, what's the starting gold that I should record on your Chronicle sheet?
Also, Eoswulf, please fill out the Chronicle sheet info requested in the first post of this Discussion.
Thanks!

Chronicles are here.
I will add Aldran and Ēoswulf when I can complete your sheets with Starting Gold.
Thanks everyone for playing!!!

![]() |

Huh, I thought that was a player field.
My gold was 4999.4gp at the start of the session

GM Zin |

Huh, I thought that was a player field.
In person, it's filled out by the player at the start of the session, then the sheet is handed back to the GM before the session even starts. The GM adds the rest at the end.
Step 1: Hand each of the players a blank Chronicle sheet and ask them to fill out the sections marked A–E, G, J, K, and P (Player Name, Starting XP, Initial Fame, Initial Prestige, Starting GP, etc.). When they’re done entering this information from their past Chronicle sheets, have them return the documents to you.
I know many GMs online choose to only fill in the GM fields, but I prefer to stick closer to the rules and ensure that this information is complete before I add my part.

Chronicle sheet received with thanks.
Thank you all for the game.

![]() |

Got the sheet - cheers all ^^

GM Zin |

Eoswulf, your chronicle is on the drive.
Thanks!

Chronicle looks great. Thanks GM! Muting this channel now, so PM me if you need anything else
