Hi friends! Sorry for the slow posting - but I'm here.
For Starship Combat:
I am usually a bad captain or gunner - but can't do any roll we need - I could even be a terrible untrained pilot. So just assign me wherever the gaps are. I also don't mind switching on and off roles as needed.
From Ziggy:
I'll take a standard Serum of Healing Mk 1
| GM Wolffauer |
Our table has received an Aid Token boosted for Allied Offensive. You can read the details on the slide page.
Staar
|
Whoa, new mechanics. It's my first special ever, so I might be completely off: As soon as one of the characters in this table uses this Aid Token, it gets moved to another table? Do we have to vote to decide on who uses it, or something? As a character that does nothing but damage, I’d like to hog it and apply it on the first Jinsul or Undead Starfinder we might find in this ship… And is the description of the token just fluff, or someone will show up to fulfil the "a nearby Starfinder agent strikes a creature at the same time as a PC" circumstance?
And how do we get more tokens? Only by “gifting”, or can we do something to get them as a prize?
| GM Wolffauer |
As a group you can decide how/when/if you use it. The description is fluff, only the effects really matter.
The only way to get one is for another table to give it to you. They are best used quickly or passed along.
Staar
|
I wouldn't mind! Though, if that thing is what I think it is, I probably won't be up after its turn...
Staar
|
Wasted the spell, but at least landed a critical - too bad the 20 didn't come up first...
Staar
|
How do I use it? Another attack roll? Wasted it on the first attack?
| GM Wolffauer |
I just adds 2d8 damage to your attack which hit. I'll go ahead and roll for it.
Staar
|
I wouldn't mind a Least Positron Weapon Crystal or a Least Electron Weapon Crystal (just in case we need to capture someone).
Non-combatants might consider some of the wackier grenades, like diminisher or foam, or even summoning.
Casey Cannon
|
Casey would likely take a 6-Notch Forked Pistol or Series-21 Plasma Guide sniper rifle.
Thoughts?
Second-1
|
RE: Skill checks, Life Science is the only one Second-1 would be any good at but we have 2 biohackers so....
Anyone have Stealth or Survival trained? I can always just swing for the fences
| GM Wolffauer |
At least four of the five, but they need not all be done at once.

Ears will requisition a Least Electron Weapon Crystal and lend it to Staar for this task.
Sorry, eijel, I think this will be more advantageous to the group by a razor thin margin.
Ears
|
- Closer Look (Stealth)
- Distant Observation (Perception) Staar
- Forensic Analysis (Life Science)
- High Ground (Athletics or Acrobatics if you can fly) Casey
- Navigate Terrain (Survival + one aid)
- Rest (10 Minute Rest)
Ears could handle resting ....
Won't do any good to have 4 successful life science checks, at lesat not much better than 2.
Skills Acrobatics +3, Computers +8, Culture +4, Diplomacy +1, Engineering +10, Life Science +8, Mysticism +5, Physical Science +7, Piloting +7, Profession (Professor) +8,
Can't fly so acrobatics is no good.
Str 8, Dex 14, Con 14, Int 16, Wis 10, Cha 11,
Racial scrounger gives me +2 to engineering, stealth (+4 net) and survival. (+2)
Closer Look would be Ears play if Life science is already covered. Can our bio hackers branch out better?
I've got another character that would have eaten this up.
Staar

Different people can work on different tasks at the same time... At least four of the five, but they need not all be done at once.
Can I roll on a task we already succeeded? My only other reasonable option would be High Ground (Athletics), with a +6.

Thanks! Let's hope an opportunity to use it presents itself!

Yes.
Anasi
|
Unfortunately Anasi has really good Life Science and Perception, but is untrained in all of the other skills. Acrobatics, Stealth, and Survival are all at a +1. Since we've already rolled Perception they'll try Life Science.
Sonomi Ikuyo
|
Sonomi is also on really good at Life Science and Perception - which I rolled before reading all this -
Wolffauer - still confused - do we need multiple successes in each category, or just one in each?
If multiple - I would have rolled both
If just one - I would only have rolled life science, in case Anasi's was too low. The previous perception I would have assumed was a success.
| GM Wolffauer |
You can each only roll for one task at a time, and we will resolve them before selecting your second tasks.
You need at least one success in four of the five categories. Multiple successes are good but not required.

May be out of touch for a few days.
Botting Ears:
1. Always happy to help with skill checks.
Combat: 1. Loves to cast supercharge weapon on a good combatant's weapons.
2. Cover seed in the right situation.
3. Static arc, or semi-auto pistol.
4. No melee option. If Ears is in melee and can't move away, the situation is so bad that we've lost already.
Ears

Sorry. I had a brain fart when posting. My roll should have said Stealth, not survival. I'll double post this in the game thread.
Staar
|
Yesh, unless they get really close to you to you, there's no way I can reach them in this round...
| GM Wolffauer |
We've received word that the Recovery Efforts mission has been completed (congratulations on helping with that!). The first action mission is now open: Bastiar-8 Scanner Defense (Siege defense)
When you finish your current mission you may select your next one from any open scouting or action missions.
Additionally, the fleets have moved to new locations. The Starfinder fleet have joined us at Agillae-2, and the Jinsul fleet has moved to Bastiar-8.
Staar
|
Well, that's one nice and cozy semicircle we got going - someone light up a fire and we'll start burning some marshmallows.
Staar
|
Here comes the jinsul scout and... uh-oh! A jinsul grenadier! With the biggest smile you ever seen on a jinsul!
Ears

Looking at Farol's proposals : we could really nail the data hack. We've got a great team for that type of task.
On the other hand, now's the time to go combat heavy. Second-1 and I both have a reasonable number of spells left for a big fight. I think everyone else's resources are renewable, but I'm not at all sure about the bio-hackers.
Actually, GMW, do the scenarios work like quests where characters can heal up and recharge between tasks -- or are we on a continuous running clock ? I kind of like the resource conservation aspects of running continuously, but knowing that we can renew spells between tasks could make this decision a lot easier.
| GM Wolffauer |
Between missions there is time for a 10 minute rest, but that is it. There is a condition which might occur that will let people take an 8 hour rest, but it hasn't happened yet (it relates to the overall progress of the various tables, so you and I don't have much we can do about it other than to keep things moving along)

You must first blend into the jinsul community long enough to reach the tower. You can mask you approach by fitting into the scenery as “captured” or “converts”, creating a compelling jinsul armor suit, or approaching via unoccupied back routes.
This first leg of the mission seems to be perfect for our operative.
Casey has Bluff +10 (and Profession (Actor) +13, if applicable) for the capture/converts approach and Disguise +10 for the Jinsul armor. If we actually have to build an armor, with Engineering, Ears has +10, Second-1 has +9 and Anasi +8. To find the back routes I imagine is Survival, and no one is any good at that.
Once you have reached the tower, you will need to get past a group of jinsul fanatics praying to Dhurus. You can sneak by the jinsuls, bully their way past them , or nonchalantly bypass them by pretending to do other work.
Likewise, Bluff +10 from Casey to pretend to be working, Intimidate +8 to bully (Staar actually has a +6 on this one), and no one can get anything done with Stealth.

Looks like I was wrong. Who'd have thought we'd need every skill except computers for the data hack?!
Leg 1:
Back routes might also be Stealth, which we're also not very good at.
We've got more depth in engineering. For a long time I've been planning to buy a bunch of UPBs for Ears. They would have been handy here, but I guess we can jury rig something if we need to.
I think we use the team depth.
Leg 2:
Could we just shoot our way past? That way we'd also satisfy those who wanted an action task.
Looks like Casey's our lifeline here.

This is just to get into the tower. There are another three steps after these two :)
If you start shooting, this city full of jinsul and their supporters will descend upon you and we'll have to cut the game short...
I'll give you a hint, though: Bluff is not an option for these two steps.
Staar
|
Without Bluff, our best options seem to be:
Step 1: build jinsul armor with engineering or disguise
Step 2: bully jinsul with intimidate
| GM bigboom |
A group of starfinders passes through a they pursue their own mission. But due to this chance meeting, they lend you a hand!!!
You have received an aid token! Enjoy and use it well!!!!

Ah, internet communication, I should have put some smiley faces on my posts. Both were jests. I should have known we'd need some other skill checks to get into the data center. It's not like the Pathfinders can beam us into the computer room. And the disadvantages of starting a fire fight are obvious, especially to a supergenius like Ears.
I hope you're of age to remember the roadrunner cartoons or that last line won't be right.
