'Gnasher' Red Claw
Waking early for his 'watch' Gnasher put his chainmail armor on, divesting it of anything that might make him appear as one of the Carrion Kings rabble. Taking a moment to recharge his wand, he packs the rest of is gear into his rucksack. Relieving Tarak of the watch so their chief could get some rest, Gnasher then wakes the slave girl. Once she is up and ready he points to the knife she's carrying, as he draws his own. "Watch Gnasher." He goes through several basic knife moves, then points to the girl. "Now you." Spending the rest of his watch, keeping an eye on the door but also showing the girl the basics of using a knife.
Once it's time he wakes the rest of the tribe, as they eat breakfast, he nods at the girl. "Girl follows us, maybe she should stay with other humans until were done?"
Urah Pyr
Urah will take last watch.
Also Urah will use up 3 level 1 spells to charge up the Cure light wounds back to maximum. So There's 2 charges extra on the wand for healing if anybody else needs it.
Tarak Stromblessed
Tarak will charge his cure wand before bed, and will offer to charge Urah one charge on his infernal healing wand as well. I only have the two conjuration spells though
Malgrim Gryh
I think all my wands are fully charged. If anyone is hurt I can heal them to full, but they will have the strain until morning.
'Gnasher' Red Claw
As they prepare to leave the lizards lair, Gnasher gathers his pack. "Before attacking Carrion King, tribe see what Gargoyles protecting in northeast building?"
If anyone wants to skip the N.E. Corner I'm ok with that, but if not
Once everyone is ready to go Gnasher heads out at a slow lope towards the Northeast.
Urah Pyr
"Leave no enemies behind us...." Urah mutters....
Tarak Stromblessed
"Aye, let us check for treasure first, I shed enough blood to those rock monstrosities to at least look for what they be guarding."
He then hefts all his gear and gets ready to move out.
I'm getting my spell list together right now.
'Gnasher' Red Claw
Hmmm, the descriptions I found for the N.E. building
You head towards the north gate. A lopsided minaret that looks like some kind of tower built sloppily by some child, has weatherworn stairs around its perimeter, ascending a hundred feet or so.
You did not get much of an opportunity to examine much. When you got close to the tower, approaching from the west, the gargoyles attacked. You have not had the opportunity to explore the walled entrance passageway. From the looks of it, the passage is 15' wide. There is no door, though there once was.
Once the tribe is ready to go Gnasher turns to the girl, "Gnasher not sure girl should stay with lizards. Maybe stay with other humans in northwest or follow tribe. Girl decide"
Assuming we get across the compound safely :)
Leading the others north east, towards the walled entrance Gnasher heads into passageway towards the doorless opening, keeping a keen eye out as he goes.

Malgrim Gryh
”Those are certainly going to attack. Should we start hitting at them from a distance?” Malgrim asks as the shield of water shifts towards the statures.
Tarak Stromblessed
Tarak eyes the statues with a frown. "Do whatever they might be guarding be worth the effort of taking four of those things? I confess to not wanting to face them down again. But I be ready if the group be."
'Gnasher' Red Claw
Continuing moving forward, albeit as a slower pace, Gnasher asks, "Maybe Tribe speak to them?"
Malgrim Gryh
”I am no diplomat but we can try.” Malgrim says with a shrug.
He moves a little closer and yells out, ”Hey, we know your not really statues. Can we talk about this or are you going to foolishly try and attack us?
Urah Pyr
Urah sighs as he finally finds that he has to use his magical protections.
With a casting of his hands, he conjures forth a light shimmering veil of protection on himself.
He points towards the group of them and tries waving in an attempt to parley.
Bluff, pass secret message 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23
We don't have tot do this.
'Gnasher' Red Claw
So a quick question, the description makes me believe there an un-doored entrance into the minaret. Is there an interior or does the passageway lead to the stairs. If there is a entrance we can go into I'd like to press on, if there is just the stairs I don't.
Realizing that the gargoyles are not responding to Malgrim, Gnasher presses on. Stubbornly wanting to see what was in he minaret.
If were watching them, they don't get a surprise round right?
miteke
The approach to the stairs is lined with walls but open to the sky, making it impossible to get to the stairs without inviting attack. You are correct in that there is no door. And the stairs seem to be open to the outside, so climbing the stairs without dealing with the gargoyles would be nearly suicidal. But there is cover inside the structure though there is nothing to keep the gargoyles from following you inside. In short, if the gargoyles have a mind to do so, you could be forced into combat.
Tarak Stromblessed
Tarak looks to Malgrim and offers, ”These things won’t talk, they just attack and kill, if they feel like it.”
Still, he travels along with the group, buckler and club ready.
Urah Pyr
"So fight them on grounds of our choosing?" he shrugs
"I can't fly."
'Gnasher' Red Claw
Nodding in agreement with Tarak, Gnasher turns and looks at Urah, it was rare that the ifrit spoke of fighting instead of running. He looked back towards the larger building where the Carrion King waited for them. "Four gargoyles instead of two, ground of tribe choosing." Gnasher gives a toothy smile. He gestures towards the interior of the minaret. "Tribe ready?"
Tarak Stromblessed
”I think, they let us be, that we skip this area and move on. Treasure is good, but why waste our strength on those stone things when we have the Carrion King to handle. We can always come back later.” Tarak offers, eyeing the things and remembering his all too recent brush with death.
Unless they come at us from behind when we are fighting the king…
Im fine with fighting these now or moving on. I had been planning on saving my relatively limited buffs for another zone, but if we are taking these four on, Tarak will have some spells to cast before we rock and roll
'Gnasher' Red Claw
Nodding his head in agreement with Tarak, Gnasher looks up at the gargoyles, and in a very human movement, spits. "Chief right, kill gargoyles later." He slowly begins to back up, turning to see where he's going, but only taking his eyes off of the gargoyles for as long as he needs to walk safely.
Once they get closer to the main building, Gnasher relaxes his guard. Turning around the eastern side, he pauses, looking for a way in other than the rusty door at the top of the steps.
If I remember correctly there is an entrance up the stairs on the south, did we see another one? He'll take 10(18) on perception looking for a door.
miteke
Along the southern side of the great dome curves a set of crumbling marble stairs that climbs to a forty-foot-wide stage and a pair of rust-encrusted doors.
There does seem to be another opening to the west. When you passed it before, from a distance, you saw some stairs leading up into the dome, similar to the south, but different looking.
Nothing to the north and east except walls.
'Gnasher' Red Claw
Remembering the stairs to the west, Gnasher heads that way, pausing to make sure everyone was safely with him. Once the found the stairs, he climbed cautiously keeping a keen eye out.
miteke
Rising from the center of the temple grounds is a tremendous dome of stone, brass, and crumbling plaster. The great dome sits on a octagonal base, inlaid in intricate geometric patterns with thousands of colored glass tiles. Time and the elements have reduced their once bright colors to faded pastel hues of blue, green, and yellow. In several places, the tiles have been completely worn away, exposing plaster and brickwork beneath.
Upon a slightly raised dais stand six wide stone columns inlaid with tiles made from bits of colored glass. On either side, stairs twist inward, leading up to a large atrium. Heaps of yellowed skulls lie piled about in the alcoves to the north and south of the central walk that approaches a large pair of doors to the east.
'Gnasher' Red Claw
I waited a little to see if anyone else would post, but got antsy.
Making their way to the great dome, the once brilliant appearance is not lost on the merchant raised Gnoll. Gnasher gestures towards the finery, "Fancy house."
Pausing at the stairs, he can see the heaps of yellow skulls. nodding. "Tribe at right place." He begins to climb the nearest stairs heading towards the large pair of doors to the east.
Will head up the stairs to the doors, if it's clear, he'll check the doors.

"Love the decor..." Tarak quips, trying to hide some of his nervousness behind a joke.
"Since this looks like the place, wait a moment. And remember, don't kill the dinosaur." he comments before casting a couple spells and shifting into his dinosaur form.
Before we head in I'll cast Barkskin (50 minutes), Greater Magic Fang (5 hours) and shift to dinosaur form (5 hours). I've got to get the other profile updated, I'll try to do that tomorrow.

Urah gulps and seeks out possible hiding spots.

Well, that went poorly for our intrepid berserker. Hopefully he will make the save and not add injury to injury. The gnolls seem quite happy with the results though. Give me a few minutes to set up the battle map.

Shouldn't need too much map to do this.
Tarak moves behind Gnasher and whaps him with his tail, casting a spell as he does so.
