"Well, we have a way down. I say we take it and leave the little fort alone for now. They don't seem inclined to provide any information." Malgrim says as he waits to see if anyone disagrees before heading down.

Seif-al-Din nods.

"That certainly works for me. I would prefer to *not* charge a ballista if I have the option."

I had it mislabeled. They head up, not down, to an enormous room on level 3 (D5). This dark chamber is of cavernous proportions, its vaulted ceiling held aloft by huge supporting columns. The stench of beasts remains strong, though whatever was once stabled here is long gone. The gutted remains of a few battered war chariots are pushed against the walls. Campfires of burning coals can be seen toward the rear of the chamber, along with some giants, fiery hounds, and small fiery creatures. They seem gleeful to see you, though not in a friendly way. Please place your icons and I'll get init figured out.

No kidding! And the rooms these passages connect to are not consistently written out - thus my labelling things, which only works if labelled correctly :(

No stranger to combat situations, the group leaps into violent action. Urah does his almost pre-programmed action of casting haste. Seif holds back but sends a buffed Shadow into combat who fells red like a tree. Gnasher does what he always does too and grows to a size compatible with the giants and roars laughs as he charges. Malgrim also manages to hit his target and rocks him back on his slippery heels. The giants are not looking good.

@Seif
Please include all your bonuses in one roll and put the damage rolls on a separate line. With 7 attacks each of which have multiple sets of numbers, the math is problematic. It is easier for me to subtract what is not needed than add all the parts every time. And I just had to do it three times as I realized they were flat-footed and then did a refresh by accident.

@Gnasher
Please include the bane bonuses in the one die roll so I have less math to do. I have labeled the creatures below as outsiders or not. All have the fire/outsider subtype. Do not add frost or bane dice to the crit damage. I get 38+9+5 from your first hit and 36+2 from your second hit for a total of 90 damage.

Before I make my rolls...
@Seif

@Malgrim
Just to clarify, you used the extended range infusion for one burn, right, but what infusions doubled the dice and added the empower? I need a refresher.

I will post their attacks when I have enough time to post for an army .

So I have been screwing up apparently. I thought Infusion Specialization assisted with Composite blasts and when I was looking to see how the math works I realized I was wrong about that. At this point I can do either Empower, Maximize or Composite without picking up Burn, but not two or more at once. I have been messing this up for a while. So I would have to take a burn for the action. I am sorry for my errors.

So how the match actually works. I have 3 points of free Burn from Infusion Specialization that would negate the burn from Extended Range. So from now on I will likely always do Adamantine Extended Ranged blasts or Adamatine Kinetic Blade because either option takes 3 burn that I always negate.

I can then Gather Power as a Move Action which reduces the next Power's Burn by 2. Empower costs 1, Maxamize and Composite cost 2.

So what I did would have incurred 1 Burn. I have noted the non-lethal in my stat line.

Thanks to Righteous Might and Haste, Shadow's AC is 42 base, dropping to 40 thanks to Pounce this round.

OK, now to the army starting from biggest to smallest.

PN Gnasher we have one giant, who, thanks to raging, is pretty easy to hit. Just to make things harder, it closes with him and whistles for the dogs to attack.
to hit greatsword: 1d20 + 23 ⇒ (13) + 23 = 36
slashing damage: 3d6 + 17 ⇒ (3, 3, 1) + 17 = 24
to hit greatsword: 1d20 + 23 - 5 ⇒ (5) + 23 - 5 = 23
slashing damage: 3d6 + 17 ⇒ (2, 4, 2) + 17 = 25
to hit greatsword: 1d20 + 23 - 10 ⇒ (18) + 23 - 10 = 31
slashing damage: 3d6 + 17 ⇒ (3, 6, 5) + 17 = 31
Gnasher (-78 HP)

On Shadow we have another giant.
to hit greatsword: 1d20 + 23 ⇒ (2) + 23 = 25
to hit greatsword: 1d20 + 23 - 5 ⇒ (14) + 23 - 5 = 32
to hit greatsword: 1d20 + 23 - 10 ⇒ (8) + 23 - 10 = 21
She is a lot harder to hit and it misses all three times.

Now, the hounds encircle Gnasher and breath flames on him.
4d6 ⇒ (1, 6, 1, 5) = 13 mythic burn fire damage; 1d4 ⇒ 1; Reflex DC 14 half
4d6 ⇒ (4, 4, 4, 3) = 15 mythic burn fire damage; 1d4 ⇒ 1; Reflex DC 14 half
4d6 ⇒ (6, 3, 1, 5) = 15 mythic burn fire damage; 1d4 ⇒ 1; Reflex DC 14 half

@Gnasher
You do get AoOs on them but it is doubtful you will do enough damage to eliminate one. I am applying half the damage to the character which is 21 fire damage. For each missed save I will add 7 damage.
Gnasher (-99 HP; 3x Reflex DC 14 or 7 more fire damage)

Now the little dudes attack. Mostly they just move but two attack Gnasher (he can AoO up to three of them too, if he has attacks left) and one attacks Shadow (who gets an AoO on it)
to hit Gnasher: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (9) + 9 = 18
to hit Gnasher: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 13

to hit vs. touch on Shadow: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (8) + 9 = 17
1 fire damage; Reflex DC 14 or 1d6 burn
Shadow(-1 HP; Reflex DC 14 or 1d6 burn)

Using the hurtful feat you take out the first doggie saving you 7 HP and not needing the third save, which ends up being a push as far as damage goes since you miss the second save. You do an extra point of damage to the second one due to vulnerability to cold. But by using the hurtful swift action on the AoO it is not available for your main attack.

So, on to the next round, which I see Gnasher has already posted for. After taking burn for 1d6 ⇒ 1 damage and fast healing 3, he takes the giant out with the first two strikes and transfers his ire to the doggies and eliminates the one he wounded before.

Shadow completely misses the little guy as it closes, but the giant is not so fortunate. It takes a gore and two claws to bring it down, but down it goes. Which is unfortunate for the little dude since, with Shadow hasted, he piles another attack on top of the ones he used on the giant and injures it seriously.

Malgrim targets the largest remaining foe which turns out to the the doggy nipping at Gnasher's heels. He hits and, needless to say, it merges with the mud in all sorts of colorful ways.

@Seif
Please bundle the damages from now on, particularly if you know the creatures are evil and will be damaged by the holy damage. TOO MUCH MATH!

@ Seif regarding rolls.
For example, the claw damage should be done as
1d6 slashing damage, 1d6 acid damage, 2d6 holy damage: 4d6 + 10 + 2 + 3 ⇒ (5, 4, 2, 6) + 10 + 2 + 3 = 32

That way I can pull out the acid damage or holy damage if necessary, but I do not have to add up three numbers to figure out the damage. Warning: next time I will have you reroll damage if you split it again so I can save my brain cells.

Also, please, please put the damage rolls on a separate line. It is a lot easier to find the values that way.

Damage, B, Mud (Earth/Water) Blast w/Elemental Overflow , DA: 12d6 + 20 + 8 + 6 ⇒ (1, 4, 4, 1, 6, 2, 3, 6, 2, 6, 6, 4) + 20 + 8 + 6 = 79

Critical Confirmation Mud (Earth/Water) Blast w/Elemental Overflow , Haste , DA: 1d20 + 16 + 1 + 4 - 3 ⇒ (17) + 16 + 1 + 4 - 3 = 35

Critical Confirmation Damage, B, Mud (Earth/Water) Blast w/Elemental Overflow , DA: 12d6 + 20 + 8 + 6 ⇒ (1, 4, 6, 3, 3, 5, 4, 1, 3, 3, 3, 2) + 20 + 8 + 6 = 72

So, if AC 35 hits Red he takes 151 Magical Adamantine Bludgeoning Damage.

Red takes a grievous wound but is still going.

I think this is what you wanted? Please tell me if there is anything else I can do.

Shadow keeps ripping into Black.

Gore, RM, DF, H (1d8 Gore, 2d6 Holy): 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (20) + 22 = 42, for 1d8 + 2d6 + 10 ⇒ (8) + (1, 6) + 10 = 25 Magical Holy Silver damage.
Crit Confirmation: (1d8 Gore, 2d6 Holy): 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (5) + 22 = 27, for 1d8 + 10 ⇒ (2) + 10 = 12 *ADDITIONAL* Magical Holy Silver damage.
Bite, RM, DF, H (2d6 Bite, 2d6 Holy): 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (11) + 22 = 33, for 4d6 + 10 ⇒ (6, 4, 6, 6) + 10 = 32 Magical Holy Silver damage.
Claw, RM, DF, H (1d8 Claw, 2d6 Holy, 1d6 Acid): 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (14) + 22 = 36, for 1d8 + 3d6 + 10 ⇒ (7) + (4, 2, 1) + 10 = 24 Magical Holy Silver damage.
Claw, RM, DF, H (1d8 Claw, 2d6 Holy, 1d6 Acid): 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (15) + 22 = 37, for 1d8 + 3d6 + 10 ⇒ (6) + (2, 3, 1) + 10 = 22 Magical Holy Silver damage.
Haste Attack (2d6 Bite, 2d6 Holy): 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (4) + 22 = 26, for 4d6 + 10 ⇒ (5, 1, 6, 1) + 10 = 23 Magical Holy Silver damage.

Much better but put the damage on a different line. I would change it slightly to this

to hit gore, RM, DF, H: 1d20 + 16 + 2 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 16 + 2 + 3 + 1 = 27
piercing damage (magical, +2d6 Holy), RM(1d8 and +2), DF: 1d8 + 2d6 + 5 + 2 + 3 ⇒ (1) + (6, 4) + 5 + 2 + 3 = 21

for the claws, which have acid, the damage would look like this
slashing damage (magical, +2d6 Holy, 1d6 acid), RM(1d8 and +2), DF: 1d8 + 3d6 + 5 + 2 + 3 ⇒ (3) + (1, 5, 2) + 5 + 2 + 3 = 21

It makes more sense to list the to hit augmentations with the to hit roll and the damage augmentations with the damage roll.

For MY part, I need to remember to add the enhancements to Shadow's status line so I know what RM and DF mean, which I will.

Shadow hits with 4 of the attacks and brings it down with the last claw. she transfers to a different giant after the deed is done but misses.

any action for Urah?

Urah hides behind the door, peeking through the slit by the hinges. Grey says the heck with trying to hit Shadow and focuses on Gnasher who so thoughtfully ran right up to him. And hits him he does. Without the mirror images, Gnasher is feeling it this time.

As he somehow misses the giant, Gnasher jerks the falchion loose from the floor where he'd driven it. As the giant strikes him, he begins to regret not casting 'mirror image' instead. Roaring over his shoulder, "Urah, heal Gnasher!" Having shifted his weapon, he lifts it again and attempts to strike the grey giant, wanting to give as good as he got.

Gnasher does his thing and, combined with the hurtful ability, he kills the giant with the last blow. Urah comes off delay at the plea and zips on over, invisible as always (he would have cast it prior to opening the door or before the last combat) and casts a CSW on Gnasher.

CSW: 3d8 + 8 ⇒ (5, 6, 1) + 8 = 20
Gnasher (-63 HP; fast healing 3; haste)

Red moves into the back of Gnasher (drawing an AoO from Shadow), then attacks in conjunction with white that also moves into a flank.

slashing damage: 3d6 + 17 ⇒ (3, 4, 6) + 17 = 30
Gnasher (-183 HP; fast healing 3; haste) Knocking Gnasher out and dissipating his rage. I think that losing the rage puts him at -37 HP and dead. On the other hand if Shadow's AoO knocks out red then the first attack for 52 damage is nullified and he is still up.
