"Oh, that's nice," Rova exclaims over the cloak, looking around to see if anyone wants it. Think it makes sense for Rova to grab for now, but if anyone else wants it?

"That's strange that there were ghouls down here, right?"

She looks around, wondering if they've been down here long. Curious if I think they've been trapped down here or are recently created ghouls, or something woke up some of the dead? Medicine would be +8, Religion +6, Perception +7...

"I don't suppose we could have talked down the ghouls from fighting, could we? It's good they are dead, but wish it could have been without fightin'," Mukluk takes a moment to look around the area.

"Niksi, you're pretty smart. Any idea how these ghouls came to be? What done did rile them up?"

Prism looks over the undead. "Little better feeling knowing they came from somewhere else." Though she still feels a little uneasy. "Do you think if someone made us undead that it is still us? Like our thoughts, our choices, our actions. What happens to the nice people within them?" Her somber speech is much slower and precise but she quickly gets distracted with the door. Prism looks over the door. "Somesort..ofriddle?"

Rova shakes her head.

"I don't think so, most of the time. We become minions of Urgathoa. She's not as important as Rovagug, but Groetus keeps his eye on her too, so she uses the undead to call him closer," she answers. "But sometimes, if you become a vampire or something, you still may be yourself. Just bloodthirstyer."

She turns her attention back to the door.

"It's a reference to Gozreh. Maybe some area where they keep valuables," Rova suggests. "Maybe someone's in there? We could try to open it..."

Niksi moves her hand through the air in fluid, dancer-like motions as a way to idly entertain herself. ”There is nothing scarier than losing yourself. The more I practice being someone else, the better I hold on to what is myself. You do not live as long as I have and not know who you are. The self as a whole is a continuity, not static, and you learn to follow the flow of it. Some parts remain the same, of course, but others don’t. I worry little about it anymore.”

Her head shoots up as she notices Mukluk at the door. ”Oh, yes. Let’s carry on.”

Rova's spit has the desired effect! The door suddenly opens, revealing a chamber with a statue of an old triton with a grim expression—furrowed brow, dark eyes, and pursed lips—as well as a large and imposing beard. The statue grips a metal trident in its hands.

There are several very surprised undead who were waiting for you at the other entrance. Two of them look like what you just fought, but one of them seems more powerful. Its face is pulled tight in a terrible smile, made worse by the jawbones it wears.

Mukluk raises the Gouger for another strike into the Smiler, but slowly lowers his pick as he realizes the ghoul is dead. Double dead. Re-dead.

"Ah. Not so funny now, is it?" Mukluk says to the fallen ghoul. "Nah. Never liked fighting your kind. Nor zombies nor skeletons. That was mook work, for between real fights. I'm done with your kind. I don't want to have to face your kind again."

Mukluk turns away from the ghoul and explores the room, trying to figure out why the ghouls were there.
