Seltyn casts a fireball, exploding in the midsts of the dire boars, catching the Orc caster in the blast (from roll20 conversation)
dire boar: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24
dire boar: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
dire boar: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
dire boar: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16
dire boar: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
orc caster: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 1 = 15
Three of the boars, and the or casted crash to the ground burning.
Horek Varshot
Horek calls out to Whisper and charges the remaining ogre with a fierce battle cry, covering a huge amount of ground with lightning speed as his blood pumps with the fuel of rage. But the wolf is even quicker than the plainsman, circling around the ogre and distracting the ugly creature a moment before Horek swings his axe at the hated foe!
Charge Attack w/ Obsidian Great Axe (Favored Enemy/Charge/Haste/Flanking): 1d20 + 15 + 4 + 2 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 15 + 4 + 2 + 1 + 2 = 28 vs Ogre Leader
Obsidian Great Axe damage (Favored Enemy/Power Attack): 1d12 + 7 + 4 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 7 + 4 + 6 = 26
So that's a 95' Charge action for Horek (movement is 70' normally with the Haste I believe, and he had a clear charging lane on the map plus the axe gives him an extra 10' movement with a charge). Will also use a free action to begin Rage and use Power Attack (no attack penalty on the first attack with Furious Focus). Whisper will double move with her 160' of movement, acting first and circling around the ogre so as to provide a flanking bonus for Horek. I'm guessing the ogre will get an AoO against Whisper since she is moving into his reach, but Horek will use Bolster Companion (hunter trick) as a free action if the AoO hits, which grants an immediate +4 to AC and if the AoO still hits, the damage is halved.
Parvo, Eidolon
Bite: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (6) + 13 = 191d6 + 12 ⇒ (6) + 12 = 18
Parvo chews up and spits out the northernmost orc at his new position atop the smoking ogre corpse.
chillblame
Parvo kills his orc.
Horek charges forward slamming into the raging ogre. It's rage vs rage.
The ogre attemps an AOO at whisper
great axe: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (12) + 13 = 25 and the wild blow connects, even with Horek assisting
damage: 3d6 + 20 ⇒ (5, 5, 3) + 20 = 33
The ogre leader says
And attacks Horek
great axe: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (5) + 13 = 18 The haste saved you, methinks
damage: 3d6 + 20 ⇒ (5, 4, 5) + 20 = 34
And one of the elementals
great axe: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16 that misses
damage: 3d6 + 20 ⇒ (6, 3, 5) + 20 = 34
Eldric Lightbringer
5ft step, Hit ogre
Hit: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (8) + 11 = 19
Damage: 1d6 + 11 ⇒ (6) + 11 = 17
Fire Damage: 2d6 ⇒ (6, 5) = 11
Flurry: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (18) + 11 = 29
Damage: 1d6 + 11 ⇒ (5) + 11 = 16
Fire Damage: 2d6 ⇒ (1, 2) = 3
Iterative: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7
Damage: 1d6 + 11 ⇒ (1) + 11 = 12
Fire Damage: 2d6 ⇒ (5, 2) = 7
Eldric suddenly felt fatigue seep in. He had channeled Pelor’s wrath to kill the Frost Giant and the Orc Leader. The power had infused him, but it was now gone. Leaving him like a spent fire, still smoking from the heat that once blazed. But the battle was not done yet, and he was still a skilled warrior even in his own right. A series of punches went into the ogre that remained within arm’s reach, each blow promising fiery ruin should it land.
Horek Varshot
Despite the rage that clouds his mind, Horek sees the danger to his companion and calls out a warning to Whisper. Though the big wolf isn't able to entirely avoid the heavy blow of the ogre's club, it takes only a relatively glancing injury (1/2 damage = 32)!
Yep, that Haste saved me from taking a hit! And though the Bolster Companion hunter trick didn't quite have enough AC bonus for Whisper, the half damage aspect sure helps!
Jeeves the Inimitable
I've marked the boar that I'm attacking on the map. If that target has cover vs me, please subtract 4 from my rolls.
Not wishing to waste his arrows on targets he can't hit, Jeeves targets an undamaged boar hiding near the back.
Longbow attack w/haste -2 RI: 1d20 + 9 - 2 ⇒ (10) + 9 - 2 = 17
Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11
Longbow attack w/haste -2 RI: 1d20 + 9 - 2 ⇒ (2) + 9 - 2 = 9
Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
Elnaril Ilikas
Horek did you include the mage armor I cast on Whisper?
Elnaril will go all out for this fight. Bull's Strength on Parvo, Jeeves and Whisper. Shield on Parvo (last first level)and Resist Energy (Fire).
"I've got another idea. You see Parvo here is pretty tough and with my spells he's even tougher. What if Parvo jumps into the middle of the orcs while Jeeves is freeing the captives to draw them in while Seltyn fireballs the crowd. Parvo can take it." Fire resist 20 even if it fails the save(evasion). And don't forget Whisper and Eldric gets mage armor as well. However after this Elnaril is completely tapped out.
Horek Varshot
Oooh! I missed that Mage Armor casting!! Thanks, Elnaril! That should turn that AoO into a 'miss'. :)
Seltyn Sevenleaf
What are we in? The third round?
The 5th, going into the 6th. We took 2 rounds getting close, with Haste. That will last 9 more rounds. We can outrun the boars. We can kill them all.
chillblame
Eldric's blows slam into the ogre brute, burning flesh from its body, even as it burns. But the enraged giant still continues.
The orcs continue to flee. All orcs and dire boars have fled the field, except one killed by AOO from Eldric and an elemental.
Horek: 20 is up
ogre leader 1: 17
Elnaril: 12
Eldric: 11
Jeeves: 9
Seltyn: 7 is up
Only the ogre is left. Will he survive to strike.
Horek Varshot
Horek turns away from the fallen ogre mage to hack at the remaining ogre, rage still burning through his blood as he swings the magical obsidian-bladed axe at his hated foe! Whisper snarls and leaps at the ogre as well, trying to bring him down to make an easier target for Horek!
Whisper's Bite Attack w/ Trip (Haste/Power Attack): 1d20 + 11 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (20) + 11 + 1 - 2 = 30 vs Ogre
Bite damage (Power Attack): 1d8 + 7 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 7 + 4 = 12
Trip CM (Haste/Power Attack): 1d20 + 12 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (13) + 12 + 1 - 2 = 24 vs Ogre's CMD (Whisper is Large, so added the +1 for size, though that's going to be offset by the ogre's bonus anyway...)
Horek's Attack w/ Obsidian Great Axe (Favored Enemy/Haste): 1d20 + 15 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 15 + 4 + 1 = 37 vs Ogre
Obsidian Great Axe damage (Favored Enemy/Power Attack): 1d12 + 7 + 4 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 7 + 4 + 6 = 29
Horek's Haste Attack w/ Obsidian Great Axe (Favored Enemy/Haste/Power Attack): 1d20 + 15 + 4 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (20) + 15 + 4 + 1 - 2 = 38 vs Ogre = Critical Threat!
Obsidian Great Axe damage (Favored Enemy/Power Attack): 1d12 + 7 + 4 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 7 + 4 + 6 = 22
Critical Threat Roll: 1d20 + 15 + 4 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (9) + 15 + 4 + 1 - 2 = 27 vs Ogre
Additional Crit damage (x3): 2d12 + 7 + 7 + 4 + 4 + 6 + 6 ⇒ (4, 1) + 7 + 7 + 4 + 4 + 6 + 6 = 39
Horek's 2nd Attack w/ Obsidian Great Axe (Favored Enemy/Haste/Power Attack): 1d20 + 10 + 4 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (9) + 10 + 4 + 1 - 2 = 22 vs Ogre
Obsidian Great Axe damage (Favored Enemy/Power Attack): 1d12 + 7 + 4 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 7 + 4 + 6 = 21
I don't see our tokens on the map anymore, but if memory serves Whisper will need to move and attack with a standard action, though Horek should have been close enough to 5' step and make a full attack. Whisper will make her attack first and if the Trip works, then Horek will get +4 to his attack rolls since the ogre will be prone - I didn't want to assume anything so that bonus is not included above. Again using Power Attack, though no penalty to the first attack due to Furious Focus.
Pretty sure that ogre is dead dead dead if all those attacks (including the crit!) hit, which I'm thinking they might if Whisper knocked him down! That'd be 123 damage total between us? :)
Jeeves the Inimitable
As long as the ogre is felled ...
Jeeves eagerly runs up to the wagons, following Seltyn. He's particularly interested in checking on the medical health of the prisoners.
Elnaril Ilikas
Elnaril, seeing no more orcs than those running off into the distance, calls over Parvo to open the locks on the wagons the way only a 300lb clawed beast can.
Eldric Lightbringer
Breathing heavily, Eldric took a moment to compose himself. He was covered in gore, which was fortunately not his own. Much of it had come from the ogre Horek had eviscerated. He didn’t have the heart to pursue the broken foe. Their leaders were dead and they would spread the word of what awaited them.
Still, he kept an eye open for dangers. All it would take was a single arrow from a retreating foe to end the day on a poor note.
Seltyn Sevenleaf
Seltyn regrets that any orcs are left alive, but then remembers that we have an excellent tracker. Perhaps they'll lead us to more enemies.
The survivors have been terrorized. We'll make sure they're taken care of and get them to safety. Seltyn can only offer prestidigitation spells to clean them up, and his sewing skills to repair their clothing.
We'll also have to loot the corpses and burn them like last time. This time, we know who the leader was.
Jeeves the Inimitable
"Well, that was quite something. Good job everyone!" Jeeves proclaims as he undoes the locks on the cages holding the human prisoners. He carefully checks each of them (taking 10 on Heal checks = 14) to make sure none of their injuries are immediately life threatening.
Jeeves the Inimitable
After checking the humans and deciding that they seem well-enough to travel, he begins walking among the dead and dying with his polearm. Holding his guisarme overhead, he brings it down on the necks or vital organs of each of the fallen foes to make doubly sure that they have departed this life. He does this in a grim and workmanlike fashion, obviously not enjoying the task.
"Let me know if you want anyone left alive for questioning," he calls out to the group.
Seltyn Sevenleaf
That won't be necessary, Jeeves. I suppose Mazrak can learn a little from the giant if he wants to, before we put its head on a stick.
The big monsters are heavy, so we can just burn them where they lie and pile the orcs on top.
We could pile some of the boars into a wagon so the refugees up north have something to eat. They're semi-cooked. Just an idea.
Mazrak the Forlorn
After checking the captives and seeing they are OK, Mazrak turns to Seltyn, "Aye! Might be able to glean some information from one or more of these heathens."
He will look over the battle field, "The Frost Giant might know the most. I can ask three questions if it is willing."
Mazrak will take in a deep breath, "The council of many is greater than one. Do you have any suggestions as to what I will ask?"
Jeeves the Inimitable
The big monsters are heavy, so we can just burn them where they lie and pile the orcs on top.
On a macabre side note: burning bodies requires A LOT of sustained heat, because we're mostly made of water. Funeral pyres for a single human are very big, so burning the bodies of the orcs would require many trees worth of wood. Not that we have to follow reality in a fantasy game, but I thought I'd mention it for those who are interested.
Horek Varshot
Horek takes a deep breath as the rage leaves him, and the plainsman cleans his axe on the pelt worn by the ogre leader before turning to Whisper, stroking her fur and giving his companion praise while the others deal with the prisoners. Finally the ranger moves to join them, hearing Mazrak's words. "We should found out where they were heading. Likely the giant knows where the steading lies. He might also know the numbers we will be up against, and what sort of defenses we might encounter."
Jeeves the Inimitable
Jeeves speaks up from his gruesome duty patrolling the dead and nearly-dead of the battlefield. "I speak the Jotun language of the giants, in case anyone needs me to translate. Learned it during my youth squiring for the Baron Withzerig of Keoland. He was a bit of a giant enthusiast."
Mazrak the Forlorn
Mazrak will look at Horek, "Master Horek, the Steading is three days south near the broken mountain. Your great skills should get us the rest of the way."
Mazrak will then look at Jeeves,
Mazrak will lean over the Frost Giant.
The Frost Giant gets a DC17 Will Save to resist Mazrak's Voice of the Grave ability. Mazrak will then ask the following questions in the Giant language:
1.) "Where was your party going?"
2.) "Who is your commander?"
3.) "Where is this commander?"
The Frost Giant may provide information different from the Hill Giants."
Mazrak will then go to one of the Hill Giants.
1.) "What were you going to do with your prisoners?"
2.) "How many Giants are at Nosnra's Steading?"
3.) "How many guards are posted at the Steading?"
That would be about it for Mazrak this day.
Mazrak will look at the party, "We need to rest. Then we need to get these good people..." He waves toward the captives. "...to safety."

Yup! The way they burned the Orc bodies in the movie version of "The Two Towers" was just another fantasy.
Mazrak the Forlorn
Darn! I thought one of them was a Hill Giant. Oh well!
Mazrak will talk to the party, "The Frost Giant doesn't want to speak. It happens!" The Oracle sighs. "The Ogre is typically stupid. I did not glean much there other than, as I suspected, the humans were being saved to be eaten."
"Is there another one of these heathen that you would like me try?"
