"We can keep the goblins a ways away, if you would prefer," Loam adds to the Ulfen. "Stay with them in shifts, perhaps. If they can bear to be apart from Sir Flix for long."

The ulfen man smiles and says-"Plenty of room in the Longhouse, travelers. You must be the group of Pathfinders headed to Trollheim, judging by your escorts - our commander told us to prepare food and warm beds for you, as well as stand guard in case you were followed."-he says as he ushers the rest of the warriors up front.

All in all, there are only four more individuals here: the man you are talking to - a well-built and square-jawed ulfen with dark red hair, a blonde woman wearing no armor but with a greatsword on her back, and two warriors wearing black uniforms. The ulfen man continues-"Allow us to introduce ourselves, we are the Blackravens - elite troops in the service of Freyr Darkwine, leader of Trollheim. Noella, our chaplain did most of the cooking. Finally, Toldir and Mikael handle patrol."

He extends his hand out to Vulpina and says-"My name is Enrik Ironjaw, and I am the leader of the Blackravens. I handle the planning of operations and report directly to our commander."-he pauses as he looks over at Loam and the goblins and says-"Please, spare us having to dine with the little critters. They can be fed, but it's best we keep them in the stable and bring them some porkchops while we talk and enjoy the feast Noella prepared"-he says smiling.

Vulpina offers her own hand—not to perform something so vulgar as a handshake, but daintily, as if she expects him to kneel and kiss it.

”Naturally, as Loam mentioned, we will not dismiss them from our sight entirely until we reach our destination,” she explains.

She thinks a moment; ”If I have not lost track of time entirely, Merry Erastilmas to you.”

"What? But Loam is one of us!" Pai blurts out before she can stop herself. She immediately realizes she should've kept her mouth shut, but it's just no stinking fair that he thinks it's okay to treat Loam like a mindless vermin. Her initially shocked expression morphs through chagrin to petulance, and finally settles on steely resolve. "If you make her stay in the stable, I'll stay there too!"

Flix is warmed by the others quick defense of the goblins. Seems we are resolute to keep our charges in our presence. Master Ironjaw, we appreciate your hospitality but will take our dinners with the goblins if they are not welcome. We take our duties quite seriously.

Ironjaw's expression changes to that of annoyance, as he says-"Please, do reconsider. We've gathered the very best ingredients we could find to welcome you into our lands. Would you turn away our hospitality in order to dine with these...beasts?"-he says, angrily staring at them.

The chaplain, Noella, speaks up-"We can keep the goblins locked up and under strict supervision, but we just can't let these monsters dine in the very same table our ancestors had their last meals before heading into battle"-trying her best to provide a reason to avoid the tangerine goblins.

Sense Motive DC 20:
You notice Ironjaw and the chaplain are very much uncomfortable by the goblins' presence. It's as if they were containing rage deep inside them underneath their welcoming smiles. Perhaps an ancient grudge?

She takes a deep, calming breath. Doing so reminds her of when she was a kid and those bratty nobles' kids were picking on her. She couldn't afford to do anything to defend herself because her dad's work depended on those jerks' parents' goodwill. Adjusting her demeanor to be as charming as possible, she tries again. "My apologies to you all. I spoke passionately when logic ought to be the deciding factor in this case. The depth of your hospitality is deeply appreciated by all of us. In truth, there have been enough attacks on us during this mission that we feel we must keep all of us on guard to ensure our success. Though we trust in your team's capability and knowledge of the area, even the most talented have been bested at times that surprised even themselves. Please be assured that, after being out in the snow for so long, the warmth of your stable will be a glorious luxury to us all." There! In response to your resistance, Ironjaw seems to get angrier, and in one swift motion, unsheathes his greatsword. He assumes his guard and says-"Seems the jig is up. Pathfinders, I give you a choice: leave those goblins to us and let us take revenge for the deaths of our ancestors, OR protect the monsters and fall to our blades."-as he motions for the others to unsheath their weapons-"But it seems clear to me that your trust is in these beasts."

Noella and the two guards follow their captain's orders, and aim their blades at you. As honorable as these warriors are, they only allow you a brief moment of time to unsheath your own weapons before they decide to attack. In a single moment, Ironjaw screams-"Blackravens! Knock them out and kill the goblins!"-as he takes a step forward. Noella follows it with-"Blood for Gorum!"-as a battlecry. It would all seem very intimidating, but the seed of doubt planted by Pai wrecks the group's near-perfect coordination. As Ironjaw steps forward, one of the soldiers stops him by grabbing his shoulder, yelling-"Captain! Can't you see these are good people!?"-and makes the captain stumble and fall.

"What in Gorum's name are you doing, Mikael!?"-Ironjaw screams, giving you the upper hand on dealing with these soldiers. At this point, your instincts confirm that while one of the soldiers is having second thoughts, killing intents have been shown and violence is just around the corner.

Crap! Pai is surprised that her beautiful speech didn't work.

Despite their violent intentions, they clearly don't intend to murder the Pathfinders, so... Fine! Pai won't try too hard to kill them, either. A sly gleam flickers in her pale green eyes before her expression hardens into steel. She reaches her arms out from her sides, fingers held like rigid claws. Familiar arcs of pale blue lightening form in a 20' radius around her, shooting toward her little form, only to be absorbed instead of harming her. The very air vibrates and hums with the power she is gathering into herself, and her eyes begin to glow with a pale, blueish white light. Her voice booms out, seemingly amplified somehow: "Put down your weapons! NOW!"

I think he might just be hard-headed. But hopefully not hard-headed enough to switch to headbutts when he's missing a sword...

GM screen:

Noella Reflex: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (10) - 1 = 9
Mikael Will: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
Toldir Will: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 1 = 17

Noella screams as the grease from Loam and the confusion makes her drop her greatsword-"You'd dare disarm me? Fight, you monsters! You face the Blackravens, butchers of trolls and goblins. Protect your beasts with steel, not with words."-she says as she chants words in draconic, creating a shimmering wall of energy around her and stepping forward. Toldir begins to recover his conciousness, but is still a little bit groggy from the Color Spray.

Ironjaw, still from the ground, looks up at Vulpina and says-"I'd rather die than let those beasts into our lands. If you think you fight in Gorum's favor, then strike me and he will make it so. But I KNOW he won't let me die. My steel is his song, and my roar is his voice!"-as he spits on the ground.

Round 3
-----------------------------

Vulpina, Pai, Loam
Toldir (Green, stunned)
Flix, Tangerine Terrors
Ironjaw (Red)
Salvadore
Noella, Mikael (Blue, blinded)

Vulpina, Pai, Loam and Flix are up!

"Fighting you would be execution, not battle," says Vulpina. "Can you not see we have already bested you? My patience for this runs thin."

She reaches out to Toldir, gripping his shoulder--

Trip: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22

--and, presumably, toppling him to the ground as well.

She picks up her wakizashi from the snow, giving it a quick twirl.

Which one's Noella? Trying to figure out where the second disarmed greatsword is.

Noella is the blonde woman who does not have a colored outline. Just updated her greatsword's position in the map.

Looking for clarity on greatsword position. Flix will grab up a close greatsword if possible.

Loam backs up and fires her gun at Noella. A beam of black energy shoots out. "Just give up!"

DC 16 Fort to halve penalty. Spent an AR point to boost the CL. Almost out of resources, but this is very funny.

Pai drags the super heavy greatsword behind the Tangerine Terrors, dropping it to the ground. As she positions herself beside them, she advises them with a wink: "Don't let them get this!"

Once in position, she takes a defensive pose and calls out in a bored voice: "I could deafen them one at a time, but it looks like we're trying to get them to listen. If that changes, let me know."

Standard action: Total Defense. AC is 22 until her next turn.

Flix is running out of patience as his chaotic nature shift his demeanor. You are wearing our patience. You are disarmed, enfeebled, and disoriented. Stand down.

intimidate: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20

GM Screen:

Noella Fort save: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15
Mikael Will: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

With the grace of a skilled fighter, Vulpina trips Toldir, dropping him to the ground. Simultaneously, Loam shoots a ray of debilitating energy at Noella, which she takes to the chest. Her strength is just short of resisting the spell, and her muscles and complexion are reduced to a wraith's. She immediately drops to the ground, her body barely being able to carry her crossbow, armor and iron holy symbol. With a curse, she says-"Damn rat witch...Gorum curse you!"-barely being able to move her neck to sneer before her now cat-level strength forces her to lie down.

The terrors take the greatsword from Pai and squeal in delight, celebrating-"Two down! One is friend! Now the leader - take his head!"-as they drag the greatsword back.

With the chaplain taken out of comission for the moment, Ironjaw grinds his teeth and stands up-"I will not let you sully our honor and our traditions for the sake of monsters! Blood will be spilt, and we will be standing tall and alive in the end."-as he takes out a handaxe from his back and sidestepping to his left (Provoking from Vulpina). Toldir seems to shake off the effects of the Color Spray, and finding himself without a weapon, is only able to conjure up an "Aaaaargh!"-in desperation.

That ought to provoke an AoO from him!

If He Uses That AoO:
...Which will, in turn, prompt me to use Dodging Panache and sidestep up-left with 23AC.

I still have a full turn in addition to the AoO, correct?

Yep, full turn in addition to the AoO

She steps between the two and her party, sighing and rolling her eyes.

Disarm Again!: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (18) + 9 = 27

Vulpina's blade lashes out, probably failing to wrest the handaxe from Ironjaw's grip.

As she swings it back, however, she probably catches it behind the head and twists, knocking it out of his grip...

...and into hers!

"Please just settle down," she sighs, twirling both weapons now.

Salvadore takes a 5' step, concentrates on his signet ring(Arcane Bond), and casts a spell at Ironjaw. "Give up already."

Casting Daze. Will save vs DC=14

Daze:
School: enchantment (compulsion) [mind-affecting] Casting Time: 1 standard action Components: V, S, M (a pinch of wool or similar substance) Range: close (25 ft. + 5 ft./2 levels) Target: one humanoid creature of 4 HD or less Duration: 1 round Saving Throw: Will negates Spell Resistance: yes This spell clouds the mind of a humanoid creature with 4 or fewer Hit Dice so that it takes no actions. Humanoids of 5 or more HD are not affected. A dazed subject is not stunned, so attackers get no special advantage against it. After a creature has been dazed by this spell, it is immune to the effects of this spell for 1 minute.
