You attempt to press the mass of Mortals off of you but even your Vampiric strength is no match for so many foes at the same time. You feel yet more Knights pile on, they shift around until you feel a stake pressed against your chest. You shift and evade for perhaps another minute until two more are pressed into you. Their overwhelming numbers in the end are to much and with a mallet, the wood shaft pierces your heart! You are immobilized. It is a... peculiar feeling. A medical phenomena you once postulated, that a person would be trapped in their body immobilized, unable to act but still retaining the senses. That is exactly what this feels like.

Two of the Knights you injured still groan in pain.

The Knights wait a few minutes more pressing upon you until they all finally get up, convinced that what they did worked.

One speaks, "My Lord. This one has crippled both my Brother and Devery. It should be dragged into the sun or beheaded".

"Nay Laurent, we need him".

"Then what of the female, she was much more easily captured and must be weaker, should we not slay her?"

The man, Claudio, shakes his head, "No good Laurent, remember what we learned with Volkov. Putting that Fiend to the question provided much insight into the nature of these creatures and their organization. We must question all we capture, in addition, we will need several specimens if we are to convince the unbelievers as to the legitimacy of what we have discovered.

Too many of our brethren are skeptical of what we believe. With enough concrete examples, we can unmask these Fiends and set them all alight! Do not lose sight of the ultimate goal of the Good Work.

Now, wrap this one and the other in multiple layers of burlap, we do not want them being slain by the rays of the sun. Once that is done, leave a detachment here as we must search the rest of this unholy place".

"What of Volkov? They did not arrive as agreed early this morning?"

"We can only hope that he proceeds as agreed and his assault on Greetings goes as well as this and our next several assaults. Daylight is wasting".

Claudio kneels down and looks in your eyes, "Soon we shall speak you and I, Fiend. I will pray that God grant mercy to your soul, after all, you were once a man of flesh and blood as we are now".

Then you are wrapped in layers of burlap and sound is muffled, sight blocked. Soon enough you feel your body lifted and brought into the sun. It feels, uncomfortable but the burlap protects you. Still such direct contact with the sun forces your eyes closed as sleep overtakes you...

Sadir shrugs, "Perhaps. There are intruders. Mortals based on how loud they are. Come, we will sneak past them by cloaking ourselves and sneaking into the basement once we retrieve the Malkavian".

Wearily, you follow your Sire into the hall to discover the room in which Vitaliano rests. Before you can reach the room you believe he is staying in, footsteps rush up the stairs, you see at the front of the group two men dressed in armor, crosses round their necks. There is something familiar about their design you cannot quite place. In their belt loops, stakes!

Hunters!

Behind these warriors stands a man familiar to you, Father Cardinale, your Mortal contact with the church. The one whom you aided in smuggling... then it all falls into place. Cardinale smuggled those items in to aid in Hunting Cainites! Your very existence is now under threat and you were the architect, or perhaps merely the facilitator of your present danger. "There!" He points directly at you and Sadir, "They hide from your eyes with their Fiendish gifts, one even appears to me as a man I know. Oh wicked devils!"

Sadir looks stunned, he turns to you, "Hold them off. I must escape".

The Blood Oath compels you as Sadir turns and races down the hall... meanwhile, the two Knights draw swords and approach.

As you consider your options faced with such a difficult choice, you realize that you can hear from downstairs that there are more of these Mortals, many, many more.

So many past events and emotions are flashing through Michele's mind in but a moment but one event stands out. When Leland spoke at
Elysium of when our Sires would betray us. I am a fool being forced to stay instead of fleeing with him.

Michele will increase his Stamina to 7 and his Strength to 3.

Hearing the many voices the best strategy is to put his back to a wall and limit how many can come at him. With his mind made up he runs to Vitaliano's room room shutting the door. As Michele runs he reaches out one more time for Haji to perhaps help before it is to late.

"The Fiends seek to split up!" screams a voice from down the hall.

Michele closes the door and a second later, a sword splinters part of the door.

Michele, you get the sense this is truly not your Day as the Summoning fails...

You two are in the room together. There is a window blacked out behind you but to break through it you will greet the sun. Michele, in any case, you cannot retreat. It was all you could do to force your body to even enter this room and not stand in the hall...

The sounds of footsteps and hollers grow as the moments pass and Vitaliano is clearly struggling to decide what course of action would be best.

A few moments later the muffled sound of broken glass and an agonizing scream can be heard followed by a splash.

The door is then kicked in and standing in the hall are several Knights. All of whom level crossbows at you both. The Cardinal speaks, "Michele Querini. If that is truly you, surrender. I shall do all in my power to aid you against this curse. If this man is your friend I will aid him as well. Fight us and I cannot say what your fate shall be.

God has not abandoned you, all hope may not be lost. In God we must trust".

More yells from downstairs and booted feet in the hall convince you that there are yet more of these Knights present...

I am not well versed in combat I'm afraid, though I do know how to wield a knife and where to stab." he said quietly as he tried to figure out what he could do.

If this was daytime, this would be an absolute mess...

He then wills his blood to try and mask his presence.

I'm gonna use Obfuscate to attempt to render us invisible in an attempt to make a dash?I'll use a point of will if needed to hit a threshold.

It seems that Mortals have their own powers, there is no way that the naked eyes of a Mortal could still see either of you Vitaliano. You see the tension in their fingers held at the ready of a few crossbowmen. The Knights in the doorway hold their blades tight. Even Obfuscated, the only way through is literally through...

With no Celerity, you can dodge only 1 or split your dice pool to try and dodge two. However, there are still several who will have their hands on you. You can pump Physical traits up to 7 but can only spend 6 blood points this turn. A Dodge would be Dexterity+Athletics DC 5 (one less DC as you get a boost from the Obfuscate).

Vitaliano's alacrity increases with the quickening of his blood and he manages to evade two of the Knights. Essentially in a dog pile, Vitaliano finds himself unable to move though. Based upon the reactions of the Knights, his Obfuscate is still functioning. The lead Knight in the doorway calls to you, "Surrender! Do not make my Knights cut you to pieces!"

Two of those whose grasps you evade pull stakes and attempt to strike you heart unable to see you clearly though, they cannot drive the stake where it counts.

The hall fills up, you see several more of them block the way...

[ooc]Assuming same roll? Or could I use Larceny to pull a the scalpel off my person and stab one of them. Given the dog piling, it might start to save my butt with them not being able to see such a small blade with all the bodies?

OK, you are down to 5 blood now and dangerously Hungry. If you take offensive action, Obfuscate drops. However, trying to run away will not drop the illusion. Different roll, as you are currently grappled, you will need to break the grapple. Strength + Potence DC 7 you will need 5 successes to pull them all off of you.

Andrew is seated next to you seemingly speaking to no one. Yet there are two voices exiting from his mouth, they speak in tongues you do not understand! The flickering candlelight shows his eyes rolled up in his head allowing you to observe only the whites of his eyes.

He, it seems, does not realize you are awake.


Geoffroi does not startle Andrew, not wishing to cause inadvertent harm. He listens intently to the language, trying to discern its meaning, or failing that, its family

Geoffroi is a natural linguist (merit) and knows five languages fluently. He also has an eidetic memory and is an occult scholar, if any of that might help to understand the languages
