@Dol: Correct on the Shalelu answer. She and Bruthazmus have been trying to kill each other for years now.

@Bumbo: None of the items are magical.

@Raz and Loth: As the grey dwarf moves up to the outline, the clever halfling pushes the section of stone open and reveals a set of stairs going down, further into the complex.

Two pillars support the ceiling in here. In many places the stone walls, floor, and ceiling are caked with ancient grime and soot. Alcoves in the north and south walls contain partially damaged statues of a man in robes clutching a book and a glaive. The entire room is canted toward the west, and whatever ancient upheaval caused the complex to tilt knocked the statues from their bases so that now they lean against the western walls of their alcoves.
The afore-mentioned damage comes in the fire and claw marks varieties. These mar not just the statues, but the walls and inside of the doors.

There are no creatures visible in this room.
Another door exits the room on the opposite side.

@Dol: The statues are so maimed as to be unidentifiable. (For those of you familiar enough with Adventure Paths (or PFS scenarios, or modules) this is one of those times where the text for the room tells me something that you as the players have ABSOLUTELY zero chance of figuring out, ever. NO clues are given and only high level divination magics would answer these questions. Or just remind me at the end of the dungeon and I will tell you.)

@Bumbo: The same preservation magic permeates these walls as you've seen throughout the dungeon and saw in the Catacombs underneath Sandpoint.

-OR-

This short hallway rises in a slope to the east. Five feet from the western door, the floor is polished and shiny, unlike the dusty floor elsewhere. A pair of stone statues depicting stern men wielding glaives stand in alcoves north and south of this section of the hallway. At the eastern end stand two stone doors, their faces carved with strange runes. Just past the doors is a third alcove in which a partially collapsed statue sits. The top half of the statue is missing, leaving behind a ragged stump of a torso.

@Loth: You find the trap that seems so obvious. A pressure plate between the statues causes a pair of portcullis to drop, sealing off that small section, and then the statues activate in some way.
You do NOT, however, see a way to disable it. You've seen/heard of traps like this. There is undoubtedly a mechanism elsewhere (probably in a nearby room) that turns it off, but the workings are all sealed away for safety. You could try breaking it, but that would likely set it off and blocking your way forward.

As soon as he hits, two iron portcullis drop, one on either side of him, boxing him in between these 2 statues that slowly begin making a grinding sound.

As Razkiv slips out back the way he came the statues weapons start slamming down into the floor where he was laying. Razkiv can watch in concern, able to imagine what it would have done to his body.
Over the noise and through the swinging hafts, a door opens on the far side (the one with Orik) and a figure steps out. She's tall, tan skinned, fair haired, and would be considered attractive by most. Her left hand dismisses this normalcy; it is scaly and red with long clawed fingers, and it carries an over-long sword. She sees Orik, and looks past him to the rest of you.
As the statues stop "attacking", she glances back and forth before speaking hesitantly.
Orik, I see you've made some new friends. Care to explain?

Orik turns, slowly picking up his shield as he replies.
Hey Boss. Um, chased me down here. Bruthazmus is dead. But I'm not.

Orik is standing still, watching the blade, not looking at you.

For clarification, mechanically Nualia has a prepared action to attack Orik.

Who would you all like to react? And remember, those gates are still down.

Still recovering when the boss appears, he picks up his warhammer again and uses it to help himself stand.

"So, we finally meet. This can't be a surprise. Sending goblins to murder innocents, just to cover the theft of a priest's remains? Enchanting and corrupting a man, then sending him to kill his own family?

Your evil will end, and soon. We will leave, but only because we can't get past these bars. Lift them and the answer will be different. Orik, stay strong. Torag will heal you."

Farmageddon

Okay, vote is for the door. Seems unequivocable.
Normally I'd move you guys around some on the map, but this is a big one so I'm not going to be responsible for it. Get yourselves positioned on the map and then I'll post what Razkiv sees when he opens the door.

Dark Archive

Dwarf Cleric 4 | HP 35/35 | AC 18 T 10 FF 18 | F 7(+2 vs poison) R 2 W 9(+4 vs spells) | CMB +4 CMD 14 (+4 vs Trip) | Init +0 Perc +4 (Dark 60) S.Mot +8| Channel 0/4 | Acid Dart 6/7 (1d6+2)| Effects: None | Silver Warhammer +6 d8+1

Whatever the final formation, Dol will be in the back, considering a backup character

Stepping up to Razvik, Dol grips his axe. "Looks like the battle falls to us, cousin. May Torag guide your strikes."

Dol casts Magic Weapon on Razvik's axe. Looking around, he takes in the entire party. "The moment of truth is upon us. Let's show them why they should never overlook the smaller folk."

Male NG dwarf druid 4 | HP 41/41 TempHP 7/13 | AC 19 T 12 FF 17 SR: 9 | CMB +5, CMD 17 | F: +8, R: +4, W: +9 | Init: +2 | Perc: +12, SM: +4 | Speed 20ft | Fire Bolt: 7/7 1d6+2 | Spells: 1st 3/4 + 1/1 2nd 3/3 + 0/1

As Dol comes to enchant the ax Razkiv seems to take stock of the state of the cleric.

"Do we have any healing? You are gravely injured."

I think Raz is squeezing nest to a statue so Toot can be in front of the door.

Male NG Halfling Unchained Rogue 6 | HP:-4/46 | AC: 20 (14 Tch, 17 Fl) | CMB: 2, CMD: 15 | F: +5, R: +10, W: +4; +2 vs fear effects | Init: +4 | Perc: +11, Sense Motive +6 Stealth +15 | Speed 30ft | Sneak Attack 3d6 | Active conditions: STR damage 1 | Ammo: 12 arrows | Danger Sense +2

Loth'll charge in after Toot and try to get a good flank in.

"This woman has been at the core of so much grief. There are many we couldn't save from her madness... but maybe we can save Orik."
