"Well. Umm. Yeah. That was.....hehe....evil! That was fun!"
CN Mika should be interesting.
"See, I'm fine! Though, that wasn't much of a riddle. It didn't even make sense!"
Ready to move on out of this room.
Mika again wraps the amulet around her offhand.

GM Ietsuna |

Ok, so just need an update on the amulets. Who has one and who is wearing them?

![]() |

Ivan observes the transformation in his comrades with unease and surreptitiously checks to make sure that none of them have been transformed into anything evil. He also checks the amulet as well, though if it does not detect as evil he grudgingly puts it around his neck.
"I ain't too fond o' this place, I'll tell ya that, 'n if'n we pathfinders wuzn't all 'bout preservin' and recordin' and whatnot, I'll tell ya I'd be mighty inclined to jest blast them tablets and be done with it." Ivan sighs, shakes his head, and follows his comrades down the corridor, being careful not to catch the evil from the accursed tablets.

![]() |

Kolris didn't read a 2nd riddle; is there an ongoing effect that caused what you revealed in his 2nd spoiler to happen, or was that a mistake?
"I wouldn't mind that either, Ivan. There's nothing but madness in those tablets."
Kolris toys with the amulet around his neck as others put theirs on. Had it affected what happened with the riddle? He wasn't sure, but doesn't remove it.
Kolris had put his amulet on right before reading the riddle, and will keep wearing it for the time being.

![]() |

Mika has one but isn't wearing it.
"Nobody else going to read the evil, I mean....FUN riddle! Nobody? You're all a bunch of lame losers who don't know fun!"
Mika takes a swig from her waterskin. It definitely doesn't seem like she put water in the waterskin.

![]() |

Reginald has not picked one up nor is wearing one.
”Suffering from delusions... yes, yes, clear symptoms indeed...” Reginald mutters as he scribbles notes furiously.

GM Ietsuna |

Ok, moving us forward
A score of identical statues stand in even rows facing a worn curtain. Each statue resembles a faceless woman wearing a pharaonic headdress. Each wields a wicked-looking sickle raised in a killing stroke in one hand, and holds in the other a rune engraved disc. Debris and rubble spill into the room from a collapsed corner claiming two of the statues beneath a mound of scree.
The curtain portrays an epic battle between a scorpion in the north half and a blue, viper tailed sphinx in the south. Between the two overs a pregnant jackal-headed woman with three eyes. Each of the three figures bears a rune. You recognize the one on the forehead of the sphinx and the one on the pincer of the scorpion as being the same as those outside this place. The one made up of scar tissue and open wounds that adorns the belly of the pregnant figure is new to you.
There is a phrase embroidered around the edge of the curtain. It seems to be repeated 3 or 4 times.
Monsterous sisters blasphemy breeds,
Born of the same womb, yet diff'rent stud,
Above me is the Mother, below me impure blood

"Oh look, this tapestry must be depicting the relationship between Areshkagal, her rival, and Lamashtu who bore them both!" Reginald quickly starts writing over his previous notes with a (terrible) sketch of the figures. "Got to get those runes right..." he mutters under his breath before turning back to the party. "Here, I've translated the writing around the edges. Terribly boring stuff - no artistic creativity here, just the same thing over and over. But we'd best not say it aloud - who knows what terrible things it could trigger?"
Cramped in a corner of the page:
...The matriarch with stolen seeds,
Monsterous sisters blasphemy breeds,
Born of the same womb, yet diff'rent stud,
Above me is the Mother, below me impure blood...There is also a series of sketches depicting a by-now familiar faceless woman wearing a pharaonic headdress, to which Reginald has apparently been experimenting with adding different facial features and expressions.

"Squark! Watch out for the dead bodies in the rubble!" Casovir is still somehow holding on to both his master's shoulder and the ink pot as Reginald bobs around excitedly.

Kolris glances at Reginald's notes, committing the words to memory and giving the witch a curious glance at all of the sketches. He smiles softly, saying nothing, then moves closer to the corpses that Casovir has identified. He keeps his rapier out should they rise.
