”That only gives us time to lose this headdress we were sent to retrieve,” Not-Trixie argues back. ”A pastry in the hand is worth two in the oven, after all. Or strike while the iron is hot, if that’s your thing.”

We know that headdress teleports people, after all. It would be... problematic, to say the least, if Hats were to activate it somehow. Buffs are nice, but the mission’s success is kinda the reason we’re here.

Pooka nods his agreement with Not-Trixie. "That Headdress belongs in the museum. Hats really likes hats, so I suspect we may be able to convince him to give it up, especially if we have something to trade in return." Pooka looks to the others, an apologetic look on his face clearly indicating he likely does not have said item that Hats would probably really like.

I agree. We need to get the headdress, we are here, lets do it.

Pooka guides Luna into the room where the strange creature is rummaging around. "Hail Hats! It has been some time since we have met. Pooka, from the Pathfinder society. Do you remember me?"

So I am fairly certain I put that chronicle on Pooka. I happened to be at Gen Con that year and got to run it at the table. It sticks out in my mind because we did not give the hat to hats, and so he didn't help us. Ahh, good times :)

I moved tokens to those who either expressly or implied they wished to speak to Hats.

Hats loks up from the pile of smoking liquid and cloth when his name is mentioned by Pooka. A lone tentacle reaches to wipe the creatures nose as a powerful stench washes over Pooka, Lilli, Not-Trixie and Prickles.

"Oh poor poor Willuh...sniff...you my very favorite most of all..oh! Uh, hello thar" The tentacled beast seems to perk up then nods vigorously. "No, no, sorry little fella, can't say as I do but maybe, when I was guarding those Sewer Dragons..I was a good guard, yes yes I was. Hey!" Hats withdraws his two hatted tentacles behind his massive body "I think I DO remember you, stingy hat hoarder! You are not here to take my new hats are you?!?"

The otyugh looks most distraught, at least as far as you can tell.

Oh boy, this might not go well...

"Hey everyone, plug your nose if you can, or cover it at least. It might help keep the stench down."

If it's ok, I would like to use Pooka's danger ward ability. It's a standard action and only lasts for 1 minute, but this might be an appropriate place for it. I'll chose Fortitude saves if that is ok, and hopefully if it comes to a fight it will be quick enough that it will still be active.

"Well Hats, we aren't here to take your hat. That hat in fact belongs to someone else, and we are here to retrieve it. Whaddya say you be a good sport and hand it over? What's that you got there?"

Danger ward:
Danger Ward (Ex): At 2nd level, the cavalier can ready his allies for impending danger. As a standard action, he can ready all allies within 30 feet of the danger ahead, granting a bonus on a single type of saving throw (Fortitude, Reflex or Will) that he chooses when he grants this boon. At any point in the next minute, when these allies fail a saving throw of that type, they can choose to reroll the saving throw with a +4 competence bonus as an immediate action, but must take the results of the reroll even if it is worse. He can use this ability up to three times per day, once for each type of saving throw.

Hmmm, I bet this is gonna get violent. Did I ever mention that a famous Tian philosopher once said that SPEED is the essence of War?

As I I say this, I cast the Spell Haste, buffing all that I can within our party.

Haste:
Source PRPG Core Rulebook pg. 293
School transmutation; Level alchemist 3, arcanist 3, bard 3, bloodrager 3, investigator 3, magus 3, medium 2, occultist 3, psychic 3, redmantisassassin 3, skald 3, sorcerer 3, spiritualist 3, summoner 2, summoner (unchained) 3, wizard 3
Casting
Casting Time 1 standard action
Components V, S, M (a shaving of licorice root)
Effect
Range close (25 ft. + 5 ft./2 levels)
Targets one creature/level, no two of which can be more than 30 ft. apart
Duration 1 round/level
Saving Throw Fortitude negates (harmless); Spell Resistance yes (harmless)
Description
The transmuted creatures move and act more quickly than normal. This extra speed has several effects.

When making a full attack action, a hasted creature may make one extra attack with one natural or manufactured weapon. The attack is made using the creature's full base attack bonus, plus any modifiers appropriate to the situation. (This effect is not cumulative with similar effects, such as that provided by a speed weapon, nor does it actually grant an extra action, so you can't use it to cast a second spell or otherwise take an extra action in the round.)

A hasted creature gains a +1 bonus on attack rolls and a +1 dodge bonus to AC and Reflex saves. Any condition that makes you lose your Dexterity bonus to Armor Class (if any) also makes you lose dodge bonuses.

All of the hasted creature's modes of movement (including land movement, burrow, climb, fly, and swim) increase by 30 feet, to a maximum of twice the subject's normal speed using that form of movement. This increase counts as an enhancement bonus, and it affects the creature's jumping distance as normal for increased speed. Multiple haste effects don't stack. Haste dispels and counters slow.

I have been asked to remind everyone that casting spells is oftentimes considered a hostile action, especially by those who do not understand magic. Such actions often trigger hostile reactions that are detrimental to conversation and non-violent resolution of conflict, so please refrain from casting spells at this time. Vendalfek’s telepathic voice sounds as though he is reciting something by rote, but his gaze is fixed squarely on Arklore from his perch atop Not-Trixie’s head.

I continue casting the spell and recite a bit more of the ancient philosophy.

The art of war teaches us to rely not on the likelihood of the enemy not coming,
But on our own readiness to receive our enemy;
Not on the chance of our enemies not attacking,
But rather on the fact that we have made our position unassailable.

Hats shifts his enormous feet and clutches the nemes with both hands, seemingly prepared to protect it. Meanwhile, the remaining pathfinders search the surrounding area. They find numerous boxes of alchemical agents. Some have been used, apparently by poor hats, but there is plenty left in storage. The party finds at least 60 items of various common alchemical items. Common alchemical items from core rulebook, enough for 10 per person.

Pooka leads the charge to explore the other rooms of the manor. Turathal uses his power to see though doors and discovers the next few rooms unoccupied, being used for storage and living areas. Nothing og value is found in either of the rooms.

One last door is seen at the end of the hallway...

@Rocks, at least 30 minutes.

Pooka opens the door and looks into the room beyond...

Harsh, cold blue illumination fills this space, coming from braziers hoisted up on the ceiling some thirty feet above. A cracked-wide ebony pyramid rises ten feet off the ground in the chamber’s center, covered by a thick layer of dust. Small cases line the joins between wall and floor along the northern edge of the room. A series of paintings hang from the northern wall, each depicting a somber scene in muted colors.

As the agents scan the paintings they recognize Yamada Osa painting resting at the center. As Nigel Aldain’s inventory list indicated, the image portrays the somber view of a Tian Xia village situated between a mountain and a forest.

Know(Geography) DC 25:
You recognize the village in the painting as being Baakai, the largest settlement in the dreary Tian Xia
nation of Shenmen.

As Pooka eyes the painting, he notices two beautifully carved glass renderings sit on each side of the Osa. Admiring their beauty, his eyes go wide as the images step out of the wall! Two large gliding creatures step from the wall and begin to move toward Pooka, their intent plainly menacing.

This might be a little busy of a post, but I'll do my best to try to keep everything clear for you, please don't hesitate to ask me questions if you have them!

"I'll take the one on the right! Luna, Charge!" Pooka yells, nudging the very good dog in her flanks. Brimming with energy, Luna hardly needs any more encouragement, Pooka's command a bit like removing a dam on a river in the blink of an eye.

Luna's powerful haunches tense up and Pooka leans forward to absorb the sudden momentum shift. Her first stride, reaching out with both front paws is almost a leap into the air, generating the power to propel them both forward. Within three strides she has hit full speed, bursting through the door and straight at the glass statue on the right side of the room. Pookas lance is gripped tightly in both hands and he thrusts it forward powerfully.

Pooka will be utilizing some feats he hasn't had a chance to use before on this attack! First he will use a swift action to declare a challenge against the right statue. Here is a list of what will be active: Two handed power attack, Spirited and Wheeling charge, Ride by attack, Paw's challenge, cavalier's charge, Canine Ferocity (allows Luna to be able to use her trample against a large creature), Improved bull rush means we don't provoke an AoO. I'm pretty sure that is everything. I'll post Luna's Trample attack rolls in her own post.

Pooka and Luna charge! Pooka just manages to lance the glass structure, causing significant damage, glass shattering at the attack. Luna manages to knock the thing to the ground but the loyal mount's bite cannot penetrate the tough glass.

Lilly summons magic to aid the party.

"Glass golems! They react unpredictably to magic - try not targeting them directly with spells?" Not-Trixie suggests as she pulls out a bit of butter. Focusing on the ground beneath the other golem, she imagines a pool of grease filling the floor beneath it as she weaves magical symbols with her hand.

Casting grease under Red golem. Using a point of reservoir to boost Reflex DC to 21. Specifically targeting the floor underneath, not the golem.

Pooka, I am pretty sure you are not in range of the spell and I think I can cover everyone else with the range and a total of 7 people counting myself in that number. GM Brew if I am off, please correct as needed.

The targets all have to be within 30'(6 squares) of each other.
So you cannot catch everyone inside the range. You could catch yourself, Not-Trixie and familiar, Ginger and The Rock for example.
Ginger is an especially good target (after Pooka) as he has a large bite attack.

Will resolve party round after Turathal's action.

No worries if you can't catch Pooka in the haste. It's a small room, so the extra movement won't help anyways, and I'm much better if I can charge (only 1 attack)

Not-Trixie and Turathal coat the floor with magical greese. Both constructs lose their footing and topple!

Arklore calls on arcane magic to quicken the party. The agents feel as if their very body will shake apart, but can see their movements are indeed faster.

The glass creatures stand Ginger will get an AOO on each then turn their attention to the large dino, striking at it. Their attacks bounce off the dino's unusual and incredibly thick hide.

From somewhere to the west of Pooka, a seething red ray slams into Pooka. The halfling is caught completely unaware and is singed considerably.

Please let me know if this hits and if the golem is grappled as it will influence the actions that Ginger will take on her turn. She only gets one attack of opportunity per round.

"Where in the nine hells did that come from?" Pooka's head swivels, looking for the source.

The halfling quickly realizes it doesn't matter. If he can't see it, he can't do anything about it. There were more immediate threats in front of them. He could only hope his companions could do something about it. With the divine blessings from Lilli, Pooka closes to attack range and thrusts his lance at the golem he just charged, hoping to take it out.
