Drukpa nods his head sagely, as if that all made perfect sense to him.

"Ayup."

"I'm fine with talking to the preacher."

"That makes sense."

"Yeah, we better move fast and figure this out. If an army is coming that gave themselves over to evil...I want to be standing on the front lines fighting with Kwanlai." Elris says with fervor and starts walking in the preachers direction.

The Preacher: On the west edge of town, near stairs leading farther up the mountains, a tengu dressed in solid blue robes stands on a scaffold and preaches to a small throng.

As you approach the preacher, Chosen Megari, she has harsh words for any of you who are not tengu, accusing them of being the first signs of ruin
to come and calling upon them to dedicate themselves to Hei Feng on the spot and repent.

"Preacher, I am a stranger to these lands and your ways. I would like to learn more about your Duke of Thunder, however. Are you more of a scholar type of preacher or a charismatic leader who focused his life on doctrine and rising throughout a clergy composed of short lived mortals?"

Drukpa listens to the Preacher credulously, with ever-growing concern. "Well, it's true, I ain't no bird, but then a bird ain't no dragon. But I ain't a dragon yet neither, so maybe that *does* make me a bird! But if'n I'm fixin' to be a dragon, well what then? Whew, I never knew how hard this teology stuff is. It surely makes me head hurt."

"I serve another in Heaven and cannot pledge myself to Hei Feng. However, we are here to prevent ruin not cause it. We seek your help and guidance in doing this. Specifically with the guardians of the nearby shrine." Elris says trying to reason with the preacher.

"Actually we do..." says Tessara, showing the scroll with the red tassels.

In this case, she is happy to talk about the prophet of Hei Feng who visited recently, warning the village of an impending ruin, and encourages the PCs to come to the Choosing that evening, when the god will select those among them who are fit to ascend to his House of Storms to join in the divine war host that will defend their way of life. She speaks with great fervor about the past Choosing ceremonies, recounting that each time the Storm Prophet performed the ceremony of Choosing, the skies would thunder in assent, proving that the Lord of Storms was watching over the event with approval. She is quite proud that he selected her to lead the next Choosing ceremony in his stead and gave her permission to show the
ritual’s glory to everyone in town.

she proudly proclaims that it is the symbol of Hei Feng’s Chosen.

Drukpa scratches his head in puzzlement. It's all a bit beyond him, but he hopes that he will understand better when they attend the Rite of Juicing, and he begins to drift into a reverie, considering what possible types of juice may be on offer...

"A true honor to become one of the chosen! I am but a warpriest now but will join the ranks of the Crimson Templars one day! It seems we must speak with others to gain more knowledge of this Rite! May your god watch over you!" Elris adds with beaming pride in the preacher and himself.

He motions for the others to seek out the hunter.

"Hunters are honest people. Let us see what this one has to say."

"Yes, let us see what he has in common with our hunters from the north."

Yakuri (female human ranger) is Tian-Min and the only non-tengu resident of Yiangma. She is repairing a bow as you approach, but only briefly looks up as you arrive.

Yaiho approaches the woman with a smile, "Ah... Yaiho see non-bird fold here too."

Sorry for my lack of posting, I've been fairly busy recently.

Xavier tries to walk forward among his very tall companions toward the hunter. "Hello!" he pipes up. "I like your bow!"

"I did not expect to meet a resident that was not a Tengu. Well met! I am Elris. May we speak?" he asks extending his hand to her.

I can tell you about the foul twisted animals have seen in the forest recently. The Storm Prophet’s visions showed him the threat before it was clear to even me, despite all the time I spend in the woods. I only began to notice the blight a few days after the Storm Prophet began his
protective rituals, and I shudder to think how bad the problem might have been had he not arrived when he did.

"Mmmmm... Storm Prophet make chose soon. Hope Yaiho get chosen. Yaiho crush threat."

"Wow, it seems like you all owe the Storm Prophet a great debt of gratitude! Lucky for you - and us - that he's here!"

"Yes he has been a god send."

Even though the hunter appears to truly believe the Storm Prophet is the savior, Drukpa has a strong suspicion that his rituals may actually be causing the blight.

The True Believer: Laiping openly and publicly encourages people to listen to the preacher’s words. In a pinched and frightened voice, he makes a show of telling horror stories of what the bandits might do to their town, providing overwrought accounts of burning homes and brutal slaughter.
