Let's pretend to retreat, hide in the woods, and ambush them when they open the door!
Let's get this game a movin folks.

This will probably require a fair bit of GM love to work.
When I suggested the whole surrender thing my plan was to have Ques pretend to be submissive as he ran to the open door when the fight began and wedge himself in it to keep it open while the others took out the guards. I had not foreseen us all getting manacled, disarmed, and with no way to slip out of them.
but this is far more fun, right? ...Right?

I'm interested.

So this is being run in 2e? I've played a couple of playtest games of 2e but I'd be struggling a little bit. I'm OK with that if you are. I did play a 5th level Bard in the playtest so I'd probably go for that if you are not worried about a struggling newbie. That OK?

I thought Ote has posted 'recently'? but yeah, if we're down to three we could probably use two more...

Definitely. Preferably someone armed.

Is it a move action to unlock someone? Is anyone else besides Ques still in manacles?
Nox Copperscale
I'm OK with that. Not sure moving an object with prestidigitation would include fine manipulation. But It is not the same as a knock or disable device in one very important respect - Ques has the key. So, I take it that Quest has the key in hand and he is unlocking manacles by hand. Wo, whether by prestidigitation (which is more cool) or behind his back using the key with his hand, he is trying to unlock someone next to him, or if everyone is unlocked, then he is unlocking himself. Which reminds me that Grey can do stuff too!
An Arcane Trickster could use Ranged Legerdemain to do it. Other than that? Maybe Mage Hand. But that may be too fine a task for Mage Hand.

Hey, thanks for the pick! I'm excited to be picking this back up after another game of it I was in stalled out just a little bit before where you guys are currently. I just replied to a PM from Nayr and hopefully the cavalry will be arriving soon to help you finish your current fight.
And by cavalry I mean me. Lief is a ranger with pretty decent survival skills, and a melee heavy. He trained as a berserker and (beyond the normal Str/PA two-hander build) he can take on bear characteristics to gain extra strength and will be able to rage next level.

Welcome, we're currently in quite a pickle, but making the best of our terrible plan and with our two front-liners on autopilot... And hi!
Doctor Gareau
The Doctor is In!
Doc Gareau is a twisted and scarred half-orc who wears elaborate costumes, including a wooden mask. He, himself, is dark-skinned and shaved bald with a thin mustache and simple, but long, goatee. He also shows a number of tattoos and some intricate scarring in varying locations on this body.
Doctor Gareau is a master of juju magic from far away lands. (Well, he thinks he is a master.. but he has much to learn).

It does, doesn't it. And the two characters we lost were Tengu so we seem to enjoy the whole menagerie thing.
Doctor Gareau
The aasimar says "Hey Doc, it hurts when I do this..."
And the good doctor replies, "Then don't do that!"
When Doctor Gareau is the most "normal", you know we are in trouble! At least no one walked into the bar with a duck on their head.

So, the GM and I talked briefly via PM about meeting up with the existing party... I think the plan (assuming the good Doctor is on board) is that the party the two of us were originally (which never really got particularly invested in what's going on here) decided to turn back and see if they could get back through the portal to Taldor after getting into a fight with the guards in town. Doc and I will have decided to stick around and check out the Pale Tower and find the rest of you fighting there when we arrive.
Assuming that's still the plan, and everyone is good with it, I'm ready to hop into gameplay whenever Nayr gives us the go ahead.

Works for me.

I am going to be limited to my access for the next 2 weeks, so my participation (assuming we get introduced) could be rather spotty. I know it isn't an ideal way to start - sorry about that. I will be trying to post every day anyway, but just know that if I don't, I will be back to normal around Jun 10.
Lief Stoutspear
I'm not entirely sure how to jump in...
I followed the roll20 invite (and even posted in the short discussion thread there) but the map that's posted there seems to just be a black square? Am I doing something wrong or are we using theater of the mind for the encounter? If the latter, could we maybe get an introductory post that sums up where everyone is at currently? If not, I can just make a post attacking someone and hope that its someone I could have reached, if you want?
Doctor Gareau
Sorry - I am travelling, so mostly on devices rather than a computer, but I thought I did it the other day. Let me try again.
Nox Copperscale
I’m having computer issues. Should get it back tomorrow, I think. Until then I’m going to be rather sparse.
Make that another couple of days, hopefully.
Lief Stoutspear
I don't want to be impatient at all, but just to make sure that I'm not missing something, I think we're waiting for the GM to post one or more NPC turns before Ithariel and/or I get to act... is that correct?
Lief Stoutspear
I will be moving on Wednesday (June 30th) and just learned that because of the holiday weekend (in the US) I won't be able to get internet at the new place until July 6th. I'll do my best to keep up with posts from my phone but please feel free to bot me if necessary during that window.

Is Nox still at level 2 for a reason?
