Hi all!
So first, I’m really, really, really sorry for disappearing. Despite all the things going on, I should have reached out and communicated with you all. I know I probably led some to worry about what had become of me. That was selfish. I didn't reach out to you, and I'm sorry.
Every time I’ve sat down to write and explain where I've been, I just haven’t known what to say...
I'm doing fine. During quarantine, despite having more time at home, I became ill at ease and just couldn't find the fun in many things that I had before. Other things took their place and absorbed my time. As far as play-by-post, I had worked it into being part of my weekly schedule in such a way that the disruption in working from home just completely threw me for a loop. My interest waned. Any effort to return felt forced, and so I’ve stayed away. And the longer I waited, the more permanent my decision seemed. I wasn't ready to step away from my games. Now, I can recognize that my decision is made.
I want to thank you for having me with you on your adventures. It’s really meant so much. Play-by-post has been such a large part of my life, and I’ve had the chance to interact with such phenomenal people that I never would have connected with otherwise. To step away has felt like leaving home.
But I am still not ready to return. I might be ready again, maybe one day soon. If so, I look forward to seeing what you’re all up to. I really do wish you all the very best.

:(
There goes Ques' love interest.
Ithariel Calenfaroth
Hey you gotta take care of you, the whole world is topsy turvey right now. Be well!

I tend to stick with things long after I should have quit. It takes a certain kind of courage to tell you the truth. Go with our blessing and we hope to 'see' you again some time.
GM Nayr
Fumbles....yes, I do like to do crit fumbles and crit hit cards. But, since we haven't really been delving into that, I don't want to do that in the middle of this fight, particularly seeing as how it would not be good for you guys. We'll review this in the next part of the book to see if we want to use it.
Ithariel Calenfaroth
I do like them since they add a potentially hilarious level to the combats, but the way our combat dice roll (thanks RNG) it could be devastating for us! LOL
Tchezze Tchirock
I love using them in my IRL games and, as the GM for these games, love seeing my players squirm. I think I deserve to squirm a bit too.
Tchezze Tchirock
I usually have them confirm both, but I am okay with what the group feels is appropriate.
Tchezze Tchirock
In case everyone wants a confirmation roll, I will roll it here. Fumble confirm: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7 CONFIRMED!!!
Do you want us to "roll" the fumble or would you rather do it as the GM?
Ithariel Calenfaroth
I didn't figure it would, but hey it was fun clicking the generator just in case! :D
Otakch Tchetekza
Umm, it doesn’t seem to be replicable here on site. I clicked on one when I thought a fumble was just a fumble (without needing confirm), picked “Ranged” and it said “Pinched”, take 1d6 damage. How am I pinched by the flask? Seems a bit lame. Is there something I can roll here that we can apply to a list somewhere?
Grey PBP
Love the new character for Grey, Ques! I can give you a flanking bonus if Grey takes a 5-foot step next to Ithariel, and that first shot will hit; did you want to do that?
Can't 5' in the snow, unfortunately, unless it is packed down here and not considered difficult terrain?

Drat. I guess it is a cantrip.
He will move up and tap Grey with the Infernal Healing instead.

Or healed, if it was an injury?
Tchezze Tchirock
I just found the Crit Fumble again and all it says is "You are fatigued". Per the CRB, resting for 8 hours will cure the hapless tengu. Since there was not a specific injury, I would imagine magical healing would be useless. Where he is also currently at full HP, I think it would also be a waste of resources.
Ithariel Calenfaroth
Oh crap, sorry, I thought I posted, but it mustn't have gone through... Here it comes again to the best of my ability toremember what I was doing! :D
GM Nayr
Alas, there is a map, so Grey will need to roll stealth to get close enough to attack before going into initiative. Sorry, just can't seem to get you guys on the map via the roll20 app. I will a bit later today, when I can get to a computer.
Everyone feel free to roll initiative though, and make any preparations.

Not Grey, a summoned eagle. Ques dismissed Grey for fear he would draw unwanted attention in the village. He is now resorting to normal summonnings.
init: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 1 = 11

I just saw the map and I noticed that Ques is way outside the range of a summon monster spell. I moved him closer and within range, as that would have been his first objective.
Or we could move him back and assume that the eagle is forced to travel to get to the mantis, would only have gotten 1 attack, and would end up on the other side of the creature..
Ithariel Calenfaroth
works for me!
Thanks, I wasn't sure so I rolled initiative for it as well, but we'll go with on my initiative.
GM Nayr
I thought it was a pretty good idea for a swarm;) Sure made me look up some rules!
Everyone but Tchezze, feel free to post as you're ahead of the swarm. The swarm is basically directly above you at this point, you can reach around the tarp and swing up at it if you like, or fire off any sort of ranged attack, etc. The guards will be busy with trying to keep the tarp down, but Nadya will try something.

Did Ques already get that shield spell off? Not that it will matter if this is a swarm, but I need to track spell usage.
