I know prior gamedays and online conventions would have 2 slots. I am happy to run the second part afterwards, either as part of outpost or immediately after as just a regular game.
This particular mod is far more investigative and skill centric than most, so it is running longer than the typical 4 combats and done scenarios.
I will be happy if you run it immediately after as just a regular game.

GM Aarvid |

BTW - I am going to have to report the table by Saturday, but I don't expect anyone to die in this encounter, so we should finish close to the end. I will have chronicles probably this weekend and then roll into part-2 for those continuing on the ride.
boon (Idruzi): 1d20 ⇒ 11
boon (Morok): 1d20 ⇒ 1
boon (Natty): 1d20 ⇒ 18
boon (Taman): 1d20 ⇒ 18
boon (Umberto): 1d20 ⇒ 14
boon (GM): 1d20 ⇒ 17

Idruzi has some good escape spells, but not enough for everyone. If we're running, people should attempt to get away on their own. If we're lucky Basira won't pursue too hard.

GM Aarvid |

Ok the session was reported yesterday. We just have this last bit of wrap up with Qalkami and then I can finalize the items on the chronicles
After that I will need to take roll call for part two. Who is interested in continuing and if the levels change the tier.

![]() |

I plan to continue. Idruzi's level won't change (still 7). Kind of hoping that it isn't quite as much of a social adventure though.

GM Aarvid |

I agree on the social. This was a bit more than I was expecting too. You actually could go through the entire scenario without any combats. Great for a party of bards and investigators. But not as much fun for a band of barbarians and warrior-priests. :(
I will check part-2 and get a feel for it this week.

GM Aarvid |

Ok, I have posted the first draft of the chronicles on the campaign tab. You should be able to make a couple more checks with Morok's bluff and an assist or two. Let me know if/where I may have missed anything.
Sorry for the rush at the end. Also, we had a player express interest in playing part-2 way back in August. I have PM'd him to see if he is still interested.

![]() |

I am interested in continuing and I will still be level 6.

![]() |

I am interested and level is still 9.

![]() |

I'm interested, although last weekend ended up with me going out so missed Napolean's retreat from Moscow .... this weekend is my birthday so I will be going away to the inlaws and the outlaws until Tuesday, after that should be OK. I'll check out Natty's level.

GM Aarvid |

6-Taman
5 or 6 -Natty
9-Morok
5-Umberto
7-Idruzi
6 or 8 Other PC ---
Doing some quick calculations...
I think it basically comes down to if Natty is still level 5 then we are 6.333 (low tier 5-6)
=or=
If Natty goes to level 6 then we are 6.5 or 6.88 (high tier 4 person)

![]() |

I could switch to a lower-level character if we need it. My primary candidates would be heavy armor types with probably even fewer skill applications than Idruzi had, however.
Just to confirm: the chronicles you sent us earlier are final now provided that we don't see any problems with them? You said first draft, so I want to be sure.

![]() |

We'd lose a non-social rogue skill but pick up an arcane skill kit we are still mostly lacking. We needed both in this last scenario.
We went over the 'should we play high' question when we started and came down on no. I don't see a great reason to revisit that decision as things stand.
If we pulled in a 6th player in the high tier range, high tier (4-player adjustment) might be more comfortable? It's really a call for our 5/6 players.

GM Aarvid |

Revisiting the question is mainly due to player levels changing the tier calculation (like Natty leveling to 6th).
If Natty goes to level 6 then we are 6.5 or 6.88 (high tier 4 person)
Natty, Umberto and Taman are those 5/6 Characters in question. If Umberto wants to bring the 8, then just Natty and Taman.
I don't mind either way. Just need to know, since I won't force characters to play up if they are uncomfortable.

![]() |

I will have to stick with Taman (level 6) because my next level character is level 10.

![]() |

After thinkin a bit, I could bring a level 8 paladin, so we could still play in lower tier. We'd still be at 6,33.

GM Aarvid |

Ok, so for the 6.333 party, we would have the following, with Morok swapping out for a paladin-8 and everyone else the same:
6-Taman
6-Natty
8-Zaigan(Morok)
5-Umberto
7-Idruzi
6-DresdenII(new)
Sound good?

GM Aarvid |

The first post is up in Gameplay. Please post in-character when you have read the letter.

![]() |

I ran out of time to make a RP post this morning, but Idruzi has read the letter & is on board with the mission.

![]() |

Idruzi acquired 5 Scrolls of Make Whole via prestige on his last chronicle but did not spend anything else.

![]() |

It my birthday this weekend and I'm going off to the in-laws and the outlaws for a weekend packed with food and drink. At least that's what they have promised me.
I will be back sometime on Monday, so Natty will do all good skills stuff that he can do. I will up his level to 6 over the weekend when I have time. Natty will mostly do dual sap fighting with precision, if I can take sap master or something like that. Otherwise just use his 5th level stuff ... assume he will be looking for traps and disabling them, going quietly stealthing around like a good rogue should. Will add a gamepost now before I go.

Happy Birthday!

ok, thanks all. Sorry for the delay posting this weekend. Lots of kids activities running around. Should be back to normal for the first part. I suspect Thanksgiving (in the US) will be spotty for most of us, with travel, family, turkey and the like, so will not expect regular posting.

Looks like everyone is in. An even split of 1000g would be 166.66, which is nasty. I'll pay 170 and everyone else can pay 166.
Since I'm in here chatting, how is Dresden talking with his animal companion? Hunters get that, but at a later level.

![]() |

...how is Dresden talking with his animal companion? Hunters get that, but at a later level.
That is a trait called Beastkin which you can take at level 1.
Select one specific type of animal (such as wolves or apes). You were raised from infancy by an animal or pack of animals of that type. You learned their ways and have more in common with your beastly kin than members of any humanoid race. You gain a +1 trait bonus on Survival checks and can use speak with animals as a spell-like ability at will to communicate with the type of animal that raised you.
I can cast that once every 5 or 6 minutes as needed but it really is for comic relief. All of the other actual commands (like attack that or flank) are trained as the companion pet Tricks which Murphy knows and has a Handle Animal DC that I can't fail.
