"If you want to put something on, knock yourself out. I'm just saying we shouldn't just stand around here waiting to be ambushed in case there's something else awful in there. Might be, might not. We aren't sure."
"Hah!" Forest hacks the monsters head off whence it falls. He leans against the wall, hands on his knees, panting. Glancing at Vale, he says "Well, I can see how the fort fell. Even the walls wouldn't be much help against that... thing." He takes a deep breath, shaking off the weird feeling of going from nearly dead to fully healthy in a few moments and goes to look for his shield where he dropped it in the ogre-containing room. "Nice work, everyone. That fog was pretty clever, Z!" The ranger calls, stooping to pick up his shield and casting a glance around the room for anything that stands out. "And thanks for all the healing."
He slips up behind Kizzy, wrapping his arms around her waist and letting out a long sigh. "Thank you for saving my sword. And my life. But mostly my sword."
Per to look around the commander ogres room:1d20 + 10 ⇒ (8) + 10 = 18 That was a cool fight =) I think everyone performed really well there.
No one panicked, that was good. Unless you have some bit of wind the fog stays for its duration.
Forest snags his shield and then walks about the room. It looks as if this was an old temple to what deity he cannot tell at first, the fog is too thick to see far. Continuing his circuit he finds the ogre's passion, a series of taxidermy chimera's with men's heads sewn onto animals and vice versa. At the front of the room he finds an altar and an answer to the deity as it has a set of huge antlers mounted behind the altar, obviously Erastil.
"Between the snake woman my team and I ran into, the snake woman we ran into downstairs and this thing, they would have been hard pressed. I still wonder how they made it in though. That's probably something for later thought. We still have a courtyard to clear, anyone have any ideas?" Vale asks.

I do love it when the party uses good tactics and doesn't just rush in. Having that flank was very nice.

Kizzy, pulls Forest's arms around her as he hugs her, I nearly cost you your life... she whispers to herself once Forest releases her. She then joins searching the room.

We should check the rest of the floor, then I can send my raven out to scout outside and report back.
Forest again laments the poor quality of the hug, courtesy his armor. It had been a close one for him and yet, with the magic of... magic, not so close. The ranger gives what he hopes is a playful and reassuring squeeze, then whispers "Don't blame yourself. Blame Runt. That's what I plan on doing. Buuut if you still feel bad, even after blaming Runt, you could always make it up to me."Hah! As if Kizzy and Isa's enhancing magics were not critical to their string of victories. He is not so familiar with such blatant magics as he has seen these last few weeks - rangers generally only have access to more subtle and natural magics, and Forest himself had never shown any aptitude for magic until very recently - but the two women made his armor feel twice as hard and his sword twice as sharp. There is a subtle tone of concern in his voice. He hopes the atrocities of the ogres are not overwhelming Kizzy. Not everyone is as accustomed to their mindless brutality as he is, nor is everyone as eager to kill ogres as he is. He'll have to keep an eye on her.
In spite of the mortal struggle, Forest feels as ready as ever, even if he is unsure of where their sorcerers stand on their spells.
Forest is surprisingly back to full health, so he's ready to go. Has one use of Martial Flex left for the day. I have to admit I'm not really sure where we are in the grand scheme of exploring this part of the fort, or how much more juice our casters have left.
According to the map, there is one room on the second floor we have not explored yet (next to room B31) and I am not sure if we went up in all of the towers. I also remember a cave east of the fort we have yet to look into and the rest of the cave system.
Vale explains the remaining door leads to a storage room and then to the upper bell tower. Checking the areas with caution you find that anything of value has been removed from the storage room and the bell tower is empty, except for the bell. From there you can look out over the courtyard. You can't see much because of the rain but you do see lights down in the courtyard near the front entrance of the keep.

sends forth the raven from the bell tower towards the lights under the cover of the rain.
Z's raven returns a short while later. There are eight ogres who have opened the keeps front door, the light is spilling out. Other ogres are milling about the courtyard. There are two, bigger and uglier than the others who seem to have taken charge and are directing them.

too bad I can't do a ranged spell via the raven. :|
Relays the information to the group. "I can always rain a couple of fireballs on them to soften them up, from above, even attempt to blind the bigger ones."

"Well, if you all get a position to more readily attack once the fireball goes off..."
"How many ogres are there? Eight plus two plus..." Forest obviously does not speak raven. It doesn't matter. If they're coming up, they'll just keep coming until there are none left. "Our best bet is to hold them at the stairs where they can't group up. Plan on retreating back up here to the belltower if we need to." The ranger claps Z on the shoulder. "See you down below when you're done up here." This may be the final stand of Forest, but if he dies at least he dies doing what he loves: killing ogres. As he passes Kizzy, he gives her hand a quick squeeze. "And you be careful." He takes a minor detour to grab the ogre chief's (?) head, then takes up a position at the top of the stairs.
Hmm. Do we have a Haste left? I thiiiink Kizzy has used it twice today, so we probably out, yeah? Perception: Down the stairs:1d20 + 10 ⇒ (12) + 10 = 22

Runt lines up with the others at the tops of the stairs to await the rush. She casts a weapon of awe as she waits and will cast a divine favor when they get to the stairs.
Map updated, check your positions. You can shift from the lower floor on the left side of which you can only see outside, to the upper floor, right side.
Damn. So Forest's birb math was right. I hope Z is feeling strong, since he's our AOE guy!
"Let's back up a bit, don't wanna get dragged down the stairs. I wonder how we'll know if Z casts his spell..."
I think we should move back just a bit. If we stand at the top of the stairs, the orgres will be able to reach us with reach, and we won't be able to 5-foot-step to them since stairs are difficult terrain. We should try to get them to come up to the top of the stairs so we can stand on level ground, having our front line where Isa and Runt are right now.

If we want to go with a plan like this, or is there other suggestion?

Don't know that it matters. Ogres are not subtle and we will hear them coming. I don't know that we need any communication.
You might want to cast the fireball and then back away so that they don't target you with a spell in response if you are worried about needing to call for help.

Kizzy nods and smiles, then adds, And don’t let Forest fool you, the only thing he can blame you for is saving his life by keeping the ogre occupied while we regrouped Kizzy replies to Runt
Let's assume a minute to search the chapel, a minute to go up to the bell tower, a minute for raven recon and return, and a minute for planning and getting into position. This is very quick but I think it is valid as you are a battle hardened team in enemy territory. I doubt you dilly-dally. I would think you would easily hear it, I always picture a fireball going off like a big firework so there will be no mistake when it booms.

Once Zherxikas unleashes his fireball, Isabella follows with her holy smite.
When Forest hears the fireballs going off, he tosses the big ogres head down the stairs. "Come on! There are two rangers yet in Fort Rannick who still draw breath!"
Forest first actions will be: Move Action to use Martial Flex >> Advanced Weapon Training >> Warrior Spirit. Standard Action to use Warrior Spirit to put Bane (Ogres) on the sword. This will be his last use of Flex and Warrior Spirit for the day.
Surprise round, then we will go in initiative order. I missed that Isabella was dropping a bomb as well so I adjusted the map so she is standing with Z.
Holy smite:4d8 ⇒ (4, 7, 7, 5) = 23
First the fireball falls and then there is an explosion of light and energy. When all clears, the three smaller ogres by the door look burned and stunned (currently blind). The gray ogre with them howls in anger.
Runt casts weapon of awe and then Kizzy rips out a battle cry. Vale waits for the ogres longbow in hand (delay action).
