Gorf Repus
|
Hello! Glad to see Celie up and movin' around again. Hopefully we won't run into any more flame oracles with tailor made burnination chambers. I'll get Gorf leveled up this weekend and I should be good to go Monday.

Ha ha, I wish I were playing Tai again! She actually has a couple of the relevant scenarios, but she is out of tier after that last one. You get another melee fighter from me instead!
Ellismus the Blue
|
I haven't played any of these scenarios with this character.
NOTE: will need to level him up to 8 today/tomorrow.
Daisley Dogmar
|
I have to update Daisley's profile as she is level 9 now.
Gavin de Roche
|
Gavin has played in:
• #35: Voice in the Void
• #4–09: Blakros Matrimony
• #6–02: The Silver Mount Collection
Also, statblock updated. I plugged it in assuming rage is active, but I can change this if you prefer.

Rob, I think you've played with Daisley before, but just to let you know the weird stuff about her:
She is an Order of the Penitent cavalier with the constable archetype, so she can grapple at the end of a charge and she can tie someone up who is only grappled and not pinned without the -10 penalty you would usually take for that. She also does not have a mount.
Daisley has her sword sheathed when walking around by default, so I'll say if she has it out. She still threatens with her unarmed strike if it comes up.

Similarly, a reminder that Gorf's merciful musket is in nonlethal mode unless otherwise stated.
Nemis

Nemis has:
Oath of the Overwatched
Huh, that's it.
Ellismus the Blue

Purchases so far: wand of identify (750), wand of cure mod 5 charges (450), wand of lesser restoration 12 charges (1,080), haunt siphon (400)

Precise Bombs:
Benefit: Whenever the alchemist throws a bomb, he can select a number of squares equal to his Intelligence modifier that are not affected by the splash damage from his bombs. If the bomb misses, this discovery has no effect.
The FAQ listed says when you throw a stink bomb you get the normal bomb effect (damage+splash) and a stinking cloud. (Without the FAQ there was a reasonable argument that you only got the cloud, and not the damage)
Why would excluding allies from the splash damage also make them immune to the stinking cloud? I don't follow your logic here at all.
Baring anything especially compelling otherwise I do feel my ruling with that is correct.
---
As for the wings, I'm much less sure of and see arguments both ways, even though I lean toward it being a standard to active each time you want to fly feel free to keep flying as you've been playing it, and am happy to have a more detailed discussion about the issue another time.

I think the stinking cloud is a rider effect on the damage. Meaning that if it doesn't hurt someone, it doesn't do the thing either. It's a bit weird from a narrative standpoint though.

The stink bomb fills an area larger than the bomb’s splash radius though, so the stinking cloud in general can affect targets not damaged by the bomb.

I thought my alchemist was in the clear with the *cough* Precise Bomb Discovery Class Tax *cough* but it sounds like the government has just raised our tax rate once again! sigh... I'll just convert this to a regular explosive bomb then (regular fire dmg, same 10' radius, green catches fire taking 1d6 points of fire damage each round until the fire is extinguished. Extinguishing the flames is a full-round action that requires a DC 21 Reflex save)

Today is the last day I can post until next week. I'll check often via mobile phone but nothing fancy for a while...

I know Kate, Rob, and I are all going to be at Gencon. I'm sure I'll be slow to post for a while too.

Ellismus nods at Daisley, and spits on the ground in the direction of his other colleagues.
"Sure hope none of your daughters ever marry into the Blakros family lads... dunno how ye can sleep at night... ye must all have some impressive moral flexibility... to be fair, I used to be like that, doin' all kinds of debatable things for the Society. Now, I am not one for half measures and half-hearted efforts... must be 'cause I'm growin' old and more impatient with every year that passes..."
I know it's an in-character post, but this feels a little out of line to me. None of us are promoting the idea of slavery or selling their daughters--the society helped them put an end to that in another scenario 10 years ago. I think there should be some basic level of respect between fellow agents, and spitting at us violates that, IMO.
