Ukuja the sailor |

Ukuja's career as a Blackjack has to start somewhere.
Starting deck
1. Weapon Wendifisa Spear
2. Weapon Javelin
3. Weapon Hatchet
4. Weapon Shock Longbow +1
5. Spell Bloodscent
6. Spell Cure
7. Item Cloud Puff
8. Blessing Blessing of the Green Faith
9. Blessing Blessing of the Green Faith
10. Blessing Blessing of the Elements
11. Blessing Blessing of the Elements
12. Ally Frilled Lizard
13. Ally Crow
14. Ally Bat
15. Ally Shock Lizard

BR Yewstance |

I know I previously said that all AD0 cards can now be treated as Basics, but I've been corrected on that by skizzerz and Tyler. Apparently the new Card Guild Guide deckbuilding rules on Page 7 overrule the Core Set's Transition guide (which basically says to treat all B cards as "level 0" cards).
Long story short; normal building rules apply, you have to start with basics, sorry, as per the Card Guild Guide's 'Hierarchy' (see Page 7).

Ukuja the sailor |

That is dumb but okay.
1. Weapon Light Crossbow
2. Weapon Javelin
3. Weapon Hatchet
4. Weapon Terbutje
5. Spell Call Animal
6. Spell Cure
7. Item Cloud Puff
8. Blessing Blessing of the Green Faith
9. Blessing Blessing of the Green Faith
10. Blessing Blessing of the Elements
11. Blessing Blessing of the Elements
12. Ally Frilled Lizard
13. Ally Crow
14. Ally Dog
15. Ally Shock Lizard
Ukuja really wants a weapon 0 for his first upgrade.

Ukuja the sailor |

Ukuja may not be the best choice for this AP but I wanted to try out the Blackjack role with him.
A few things about Ukuja.
Once he gets Wendifisa Spear (Weapon B) in his hands he becomes a combat monster and will be using it as his primary weaponh through all 6 tiers. With no feats or added boons his combat roll with it is 1d10 +1d12 +4. Anything that adds to a survival or wisdom check will help. Though this is also a combat check.
Cloud Puff is awesome and can spare the party some headaches. It will probably stay in my deck all 6 tiers.
Blessing of the Green Faith is one of the best blessings in the game imho and they will probably stay in my deck a long time. I vastly prefer they get used to bless checks over me discarding them to explore.
Ukuja has access to a lot of healing. How much I run will depend on party number and complement. But he can serve as a primary healer if needed.
So Ukuja can fight well, has a good hand size, can heal, and has some decent non local support options. Now for the bad news. d6 or lower in everything but Dexterity and Wisdom. He is lousy at acquiring many boons and possibly at dealing with barriers. His ability to start with 2 cohorts can partly mitigate that.

Heggal - ACG kuey |

We're starting on 21 Jun, but I would be travelling until 23 Jun. I'm fine for Heggal to be botted during those two days. If not, I'm fine to withdraw. Thanks.

BR Yewstance |

We're starting on 21 Jun, but I would be travelling until 23 Jun. I'm fine for Heggal to be botted during those two days. If not, I'm fine to withdraw. Thanks.
I'm happy to allow any other player - preferably on the team - bot you. If nobody steps in, I can do so on your behalf.

Ukuja the sailor |

I can bot you. Especially if you give us an idea of what you plan to do on your turn. I doubt we will be doing 2 full turn rotations in less then 2 days.

Heggal - ACG kuey |

Great, thanks! I think I'll have a better idea once I have a better look at Heggal and build his deck. My take is that unless he has a weapon in hand (which is unlikely seeing he has only 1), he'll try avoiding Monsters. His ability to reveal ally to get +1d4 makes his quite flexible otherwise.

Zalarian |

Hello all. At the moment I am leaning towards playing an arcane character..possibly a goblin or Magus one.

Ukuja the sailor |

I forgot to ask. Is this the first part of season 6 or a standalone adventure?
Also do we want to use Google Hangout or a Discord channel for this?

BR Yewstance |

I forgot to ask. Is this the first part of season 6 or a standalone adventure?
This is not Season 6. This is a new thing that is being tested (though I suspect it will become standard), where we are playing through the Curse of the Crimson Throne Adventure Path (as in, the one that ships with the physical set) under OP rules with changes made to the rewards as necessary. This also comes with its own Adventure Path reward.
I am willing to continue to run this table as long as there's interest in the party, by the way.
Also do we want to use Google Hangout or a Discord channel for this?
Due to the uncertainty with how long Google Hangouts will be running for, I have a preference for Discord. However, I'm happy to support any solution that's favorable with the team. Either way, it's not really up to me - I just facilitate the gameplay, not participate (unless asked).

Maznar |

In that case I want to try out a character that is equally inappropriate for this but might be useful under Core rules. Maznar + UW.
Maznar has 1 good gimmick which is he reveals an animal ally to add 1d4 to ANY local check.
Unfortunately one of his downsides is he has no innate combat ability and no favored card so he could start without a way to fight.
Btw have you all checked out Yewstance's new deck handler?
An example.

Ukuja the sailor |

I keep forgetting how bad the druid class deck is. Ukaja will do fine.

Heggal - ACG kuey |

Hi, like I mentioned earlier, I would be on vacation from tomorrow for a week until next Sunday. Please feel free to bot. I've set Heggal's deck handler to edit mode for all.
I have not played Heggal before, so am not also sure what's the best playstyle. I think a lot depends on his cards drawn, e.g. weapon, spell. He'll obviously liberally use his power to get +1d4 using his allies. Also, he'll prioritise healing when teammates are on the verge of death.

Varian 12789 |

With hangouts likely changing, I am down for using discord. At first I was a bit reluctant to use but find it to be pretty decent.

Ukuja the sailor |

A quick reminder that poisoned and wounded can be removed by healing. That makes incidental healing like the core version of Staff of Minor Healing and the spell Life Drain better.

BR Yewstance |

I'll be sending out a link to a Discord channel to your PMs over the week, to facilitate better discussion between team members. Let me know if you'd prefer a different solution.
(I probably won't actually send PMs through Paizo to people I've contacted in the past on Discord anyway - I'll just contact them there.)

AAUGHWHY's PFSACG Aric/TRR |

Hi everyone!
I'll be playing Aric/TRR; he should be pretty well suited considering one of the main features of the AP is giving someone a vigilante identity. I'm just using UI right now, both because it's pretty solid by itself for him and also because I don't have a class deck that would fit well with him.
Also FYI, he's 4 games into Tier 1 - I'll be tiering up at 6 Scenarios for a while to eventually even out with the rest of the party (assuming we want to continue after the convention)
I think a discord would be a great idea; I think its somewhat more functional than hangouts and hangouts is getting phased out at some point.

BR Yewstance |

Discord links have been sent out. Once everyone's in the channel (be sure to post there so I know your Discord username), I'll give the players exclusive permissions to read and send messages there; closing it off to everyone else and making it private.
(Quick note to AAUGHWHY - I think Ukuja/Bigguyinblack wanted the Blackjack Role. You can kinda share it in Organized Play, I think - it's a bit like a Loot replacement, as far as I've been informed.)
I also note that PinesAwait signed up for this table, but has not made any posts or checked in. I'll try to get in contact with him, too.

So during this Adventure, I'll try to occasionally make mid-scenario posts here to summarize the cards that have been acquired so far by the party. This can serve as a partial snapshot of all of your acquired cards, helping you make decisions about what to do in the future. I can try to put these out more or less frequently as requested.
Fox (Ally 1)
Bodyguard (Ally 1)
Droogami (Ally 1)
Frog (Ally 0)
Chain Shirt (Armor 0)
Nethys's Duality (Blessing 1)
Irori's Mastery (Blessing 1)
Staff Of Minor Healing (Item 1)
Boots Of Friendly Terrain (Item 1)
Bracers Of Protection (Item 0)
Gem Of Mental Acuity (Item 1)
Acid Arrow (Spell 0)
Immolate (Spell 0)
Earthbreaker (Weapon 1)
Bolas (Weapon 0)
Kukri (Weapon 0)

Heggal - ACG kuey |

Wanted to seek some advice for Heggal's short term build. I know I want to focus on melee combat in the long run, but he starts out not proficient in weapon, and only 1 weapon. For his first hero point, should I spend it on weapon proficiency or increase to 2 weapons? Leaning towards the latter to increase chances of drawing a weapon, which feels more important in the immediate term than getting bonuses from weapons.

Yewstance |

(Outside of BRing)
I don't know if Heggal needs Weapon Proficiency at all for a while, but it does depend as to which weapons you really want to be using.
Prior to AD2, I'd consider the 'best' melee weapons in Ultimate Combat to be the following, all of which have different strategy considerations. Which of these actually appeals to you will heavily influence your choice as to which power or card feat to start taking.
HEGGAL-SPECIFIC CONSIDERATIONS
WEAPONS TO CONSIDER (If not proficient)
ADDITIONAL WEAPONS TO CONSIDER (If proficient)
The Cleric Class Deck doesn't really have weapons that compare favorably to Ultimate Combat weapons.
All in all, I don't think proficiency helps Heggal that much, at least in Tier 1, based on those 'ideal' weapons. I'd be more tempted to improve the +1d4 power to +1d4+1, which is basically strictly better to a skill feat in each skill (since it also adds to checks of skills you don't have, like Perception or Disable, when they're prompted). But getting a second Weapon via a Card Feat is probably better in the shortest possible term - you don't want to be reliant on someone else having a weapon to hand you if your only weapon is on the bottom 5 cards of your deck.

Zalarian |

My first character is Meliski and I didn't bother getting a weapon for him. Instead, I started at same location as the ranger and the paladin and they would pass their extra basic weapon to him until he got his brawler role. We always had the ranger go first and move away followed by Seelah. The Naginata was a great weapon from the paladin. The tripartite spear was also nice to use as well and the synergies between the 3 characters were pretty good as well.

Heggal - ACG kuey |

Thanks so much for the advice! Yeah, I kind of feel like Heggal got lucky in this scenario picking up the earthbreaker (core version which didn't penalise for non-proficiency), and the longspear. His base hand of 1 weapon and 2 attack spells makes starting without attack options rather probable. Think will go with weapon card feat first, then later increase ally bonus to 1d4+1.

Ukuja the sailor |

And we win. Ukuja wants one of the multiple weapon 0s for his upgrade. If we get more then one upgrade his priorities are
ally 1: 1d1000 ⇒ 650
weapon 1: 1d1000 ⇒ 42
spell 0: 1d1 ⇒ 1
And he will spend his hero point adding +1 to his wisdom.

JohnF-1017 Quinn |

Quinn is most interested in an Item 1: 1d1000 ⇒ 97
His second choice would be a Weapon 1: 1d1000 ⇒ 655
How he would spend his Hero Point somewhat depends on the upgrade he gets.

Heggal - ACG kuey |

Upgrade preference:
Weapon 1: 1d1000 ⇒ 891
Ally 1: 1d1000 ⇒ 346
Hero point: Weapon Card Feat

Heggal - ACG kuey |

Upgrade preference:
[dice=Weapon 1]1d1000
[dice=Ally 1]1d1000Hero point: Weapon Card Feat
Sorry can I change my mind over the 2nd choice? Got a good look at the Ally 1 options and they aren't that useful for Heggal. Would change to Ally 0 instead.
Oh, can we start exchanging our cards with Core versions?
edit: Also, I've updated my deck handler to 4.6, and have also updated the Player Hands to align with the appropriate cells.

Scenario Reward
A character gets the Loot item Zellara's Harrow Deck. In Core/Curse, Loot that isn't claimed by players will end up in the vault to be disseminated into location decks. You can take Loot - or have it end up in location decks - even though it's Level should always be of a higher AD# than the Tier it's earned in.

Ukuja the sailor |

Ukuja replaced the banished Javelin with Javelin. Upgraded Light Crossbow with Windifisa Spear. Is using his hero point to add +1 to his Wisdom. And he doesn't want the Harrow deck.

AAUGHWHY's PFSACG Aric/TRR |

I'll not take any of the upgrades. Honestly, I'll probably not take any upgrades until we hit #2

BR Yewstance |

I am indicating to the party that this scenario has a conditional reward.
A small conditional reward is earned by completing either of the following actions...
(Basically, complete the optional objective or win the game by defeating the villain nonlethally. As long as either of those is done, the full reward is earned - there's no need to do both unless you want to.)

JohnF-1017 Quinn |

If Aric isn't taking an upgrade, then I think everybody can get their first choice.

JohnF-1017 Quinn |

Assuming Quinn gets an Item 1 upgrade, he'll take a Card Feat (Item), and fill it with a Helpful Haversack (the Core version);
He'll also switch back to the pre-Core version of Thieves' Tools.

BR Yewstance |

We have received word on the player boons for Cards Against Gnomanity II!
For each completed scenario, the BR and each player rolls a d20. On a 20, you may earn one of the following rewards...
Fangwood Thieves Reward #2: [ ] [ ] [ ] Divine Intervention:
Check a box that precedes this reward to freely play a blessing on a check.Fangwood Thieves Reward #3: [ ] [ ] [ ] What Resistance?
Check a box that precedes this reward to treat a monster that is resistant to a trait as vulnerable to that trait.
If you win any boon, please PM me your email address to pass onto the convention organisers, so they can send out the boons formally after the convention finishes.
You may, of course, now roll for the completion of the last scenario.
1* BR Boon: 1d20 ⇒ 8 -> No reward for me.
