Looking at the urgency on Maxxuud's face, Philton deduces that they must destroy the ettin; with the wall of gears being 5 foot high he plans to try and get a better vantage point to see his allies, whisking them away... Philton exclaims to Maxxuud "I'll get you there..." Philton thinks if only he could read lips...

The ettin falls at the 3rd attack, but the ever growing pile of bodies prevents Maxxuud to step and deliver the 4rd attack.
I have a bit of trouble with the extreme metagaming with regards to the locations that people are being teleported to, but I'm assuming Tyranyx will have used her round to mime and point instructions to Philton

The clockwork golem returns to its humanoid shape and it and the two surviving ogres move quickly to the North.

The slaves scatter from the combat scene, but one approaches Maxxuud and shouts.

1. I Am going to suggest to Brotil that he casts a heal on Tyranyx, as we do not know that we have 10 rounds, moving Tyranyx's hand over to Brotil. I will attempt to concentrate and cast shield of wings.
2. I am going to fish out my scroll of remove blindness/deafness and given that it is a move action to pick up the scroll from a person's hand or the floor and I don't know if Brotil can just accept it I will drop it at Brotil's feet. I will then move over to where my bastard sword is on the floor.
3. I will stow my polearm, pick up my bastard sword, and draw my shield. I will also say to Tyranyx that I am ready for an enlarge person.
4. I will use my divine bond on my weapon for holy. Depending on where the others are, I will move back or stay where I am to keep guard. I am also going to suggest the others protect themselves with stuff like stoneskin or mirror imageor invisibility (assuming they can hear by then.
5. If Brotil is near, I can fish out my scroll of invisibility purge for him. If required for the heal on tyranyx (although I doubt that it will be), I can do this earlier. I will try and speak to one of the slaves and use my diplomacy to get some information about the slave mistress.
6. I will encourage the remaining slaves to hide. I will warn them about the capramace that escaped too.
I have to go out with Evelyn now. I will try and write more later
Philton Grack |
"Maxxuud, have you a spare healing wand? Tyranyx could you possible put a single charge of this wand into myself? If somebody could possibly remove my deafness that would be greatly appreciated..." Philton turns his gaze to Brotil.
Round One - Give the wand of IF to Tyranyx.
Round Two - Retrieve the wand of CLW from Maxxuud and use a charge. Concentrating 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9 on healing himself.
Round Three - Reactivate the wand. Concentrating 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3 onhealing himself.
Round Four - See if any of Philtons companions or the slaves require healing. CLW wand if necessary.
Round Five and beyond - Move to the slaves trying to earn their trust and try to convince them to move into the landing area of the lift shaft, asking them to trust us, asking them to close the Habblegash door with them in.
As previously expressed by Hamish we don't know we have ten rounds but we do know someone is being informed (maybe even coming to investigate us as a group).

Provided that Tyranyx gets some healing she will perform the following actions.
'Philton do you have the resources for another Arcane Concordance?'

Round four, cast Fly on Maxxuud
Round five, cast enlarge person on Maxxuud
Round six, cast Greater invisibility on herself
Round seven, cast IH from the wand onto Philton
Round eight, cast mirror image on herself.

Boxed into the wall with a large polearm, Maxxuud does the only thing that any self-respecting paladin would do...

Brotil will have cast Heal on Tyranyx. He will also have picked up the two scrolls that Maxxuud dropped for him and Cast Cure Deafness on Philton.
Maxxuud’s initial list of things to do got delayed by his failed magic (in round 1).
Casting heal and delivering it to Tyranyx is a bit difficult atm, as she’s still invisible and deaf.
Maxxuud Setty-Hawthorne |
Maxxuud uses his blessing to 'kip up' from the ground.
Taking a 5' step back, Maxxuud squeezes into the space where Philton stands, not leaving much space to wield his polearm. Nevertheless, Maxxuud attempts to cut therough the elementals hard interior, aiming for the burned regions.

With one mighty smash, Maxxuud's polearm shatters the torso of the huge Earth elemental, sending rock fragments flying in all directions.
"Begone!"
That full attack would have exactly killed the elemental outright!
Maxxuud Setty-Hawthorne |
With the elemental destroyed in one hit, Maxxuud uses his remaining swings to justiculate with his polearm in the direction of the slaves and says, with clear mouth movements.
"Protect the slaves. They are being attacked."
Maxxuud Setty-Hawthorne |
Maxxuud pushes past the others, beckoning them to follow. Using the Blessing of Fervor, he double times it north and then west, picking his way around the bodies to stand in front of the slaves.

"My friends and I will protect you. Run back into the salt cavern cavern I came from."

As Maxxuud sees these seething masses of bubbling molten rock churns and moves of its own hungry accord. Magma tainted by the mineral you are looking for: Eidite. Maxxuud determines these creatures are most likely immune to fire and that weapons might be damaged by the molten rock.
Philton think sthese creatures might grapple, constrict and might burn things they hit.
GM Auke |
Tyranyx deducts these Eidite oozes are immune to fire and that they might be vulnerable to cold, but that this might split them. These elementals are also vulnerable to water, which can turn them to stone. They lack eyesight, but they can sense creatures nearby instead. As they are infused with eidite these things can probably infect people with that mineral.
Maxxuud Setty-Hawthorne |
Maxxuud risks the polearm and, after moving diagonally north-east 5', gives the oozes a good power attack beating, using the blessing for an extra attack. not defensively Maxxuud starts with the west-most ooze and moves onto the other ooze if he destroys the first.
