Tyranyx looks across the cavern and sees a couple of oozes.

Concentrating on summoning up her magic, Tyranyx aims an empowered intensified cold ball at the back ooze just on the limit of her vision.

As the oozes give off light, you are able to see more of them. I'm assuming you'll put the cold ball in the middle of them (center is bottom right of Maxxuud, which will get you Red, Green, Blue, Orange, Purple and Maxxuud.

All the slaves run away from the undead monstrosity!

"Brotil I'm going to die if you don't cast Heal on myself... I know we haven't known each other that long but I always liked your buns..." Philton look visually pained.

Maxxuud takes the coldball in the face, barely standing up. He goes to heal himself but then sees his companion being flayed alive. Maxxuud is about to be spurred into reckless action when he sees Philton appear close to him.

"Philton, I will avenge you!"

Maxxuud heals himself first in case the ooze attacks.

Moving 5', Maxxuud takes a total defense action to protect the others from the ooze.

Brotil does a Quick Channel 7d6 ⇒ (3, 5, 4, 5, 5, 6, 1) = 29 and concentrating 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (17) + 19 = 36, casts Heal on Philton.

Slaves run in all directions, the ecorche follows some of them to the north.

The ooze attacks Maxxuud

Immune to the frightful presence, Maxxuud shouts

"You will not escape after ripping off Philton's skin you monstrosity!"

Maxxuud smites the abomination, with his usual gusto and hasted power defense with added guile. He uses the blessing for the bonuses to hit and AC.

Maxxuud takes chase using his blessing for extra speed. Running after the undead, Maxxuud also jumps over the stairs and moves around the corner. He then becomes face-to-face with the undead. Continuing his move, he dodges away from the incoming claw to get enough range with his polearm for a mighty smash.

Tyranyx moves closer and casts Detect Magic to inspect the metal drum.

In a desperate effort the ecorche launches itself at Maxxuud.

The undead claw slashes across Maxxuud's face, blood flowing everywhere!

As Maxxuud quickly tries to wipe to blood from his eyes to regain his sight, he notices this doesn't help and that he is blind!

Maxxuud howls with pain as the ecorche rakes his face.

With the world gone dark, and the fetted stench of the ecorche next to him, the polearm is useless. Maxxuud thinks back to his training with the sword-kata monks and wishes that he had stayed for longer to train in the ways of the blind monk.

Maxxuud's final attack manages to hit and destroys the ecorche.

Maxxuud calls out to Brotil.

"Brotil, I am blind. Can you cure me. I have a scroll in my backpack if you need it."

Maxxuud also adds..

"If someone is not busy, can they pick up my sword. I dropped it where we started this fight some minutes ago."

Philton looks around the processing area, he addresses the party... "I'm going to get a better look..." Philton climbs the stairs looking around from his new vantage point.
Searching for traps etc.

Using the extra movement granted by Blessing of Fervour, Brotil moves up to Maxxuud and retrieves the scroll of Cure Blindness from his pack, ready to cast it.

Tyranyx heads South to retrieve the sword Maxxuud discarded. 'I will not have my magic go to waste you ungrateful plate wearing noble so and so.'she mutters under her breath as she picks it up.

Brotil uses the scroll to cure Maxxuud's blindness then converts one of his Flame Strikes into a Cure Critical Wounds Concentration: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (19) + 19 = 38Healing: 4d8 + 13 ⇒ (7, 2, 5, 4) + 13 = 31 +15 = 46. He then waits for Tyranyx to loan her Ioun Stone to him so that he can use Maxxuud's scroll of Heal on her with less chance of something going wrong.

Looking from his new vantage point Philton notices two metal statues... "Tyranyx, what are those? Philton tries on his own to recall what these statues are...
"Tyranyx! oh she is deaf to then? For a minute I thought the message wasn't working"

Brotil borrows the ioun stone and concentrates on using Maxxuud's scroll of Heal on Tyranyx

Concentration: 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (20) + 21 = 41 Succes

Tyranyx is healed and Brotil returns the stone.

Now everyone can continue with their prep

Maxxuud thanks Brotil for the healing and the cure of blindness.

"A terrible thing, not to be able to see. It makes you value your eyes"

Upon receiving his sword back from the invisible Tyranyx, Maxxuud thanks her. He stows his polearm and draws his shield. Addressing Tyranyx he says

"Now, if you can enlarge me, I will be better equipped to fight those ogres. I could also use the ability to fly if you have the resources?"

Maxxuud then calls on the power of Ragathiel to bless his bastard sword with holy power.

"Come my friends. Let us find the denzins of evil in this mine and rid the world of their taint."

From his vantage point, Maxxuud observed the two metal statues to see what they are.

Maxxuud cannot see the statues from where he is because of the drum. He will wait till all the buffs have been cast before investigating.

As you are preparing to confront the enemy one of the slaves approaches from the North. Philton quickly makes sure it is not another undead in disguise.

"Mistress Metruni is ready for your audience. Please follow me when you feel ready to talk." the mutated halfling delays.

Philton look at the Halfling, feeling pity for him in a world that he knows nothing... "Group shall we see this, Mistress?"
Casting Comprehend Languages and Acute Senses (auto concentration) and swapping out Eyes of the Eagle for the Inquisitor’s Monocle. Hoping to get a better look at those statues.

Tyranyx casts investigative mind and agrees to see said Mistress.

"Care to fly a little Maxx?", she asks as she passes him a scroll of 'See Invisibility'

"Perhaps you can diplomatically deal with this Mistress for us?, Assuming she is open to such channels."

Brotil nods and says 'I agree. Let us go and met this Mistress. She may have answers for us.'

You are brought before Mistress Metruni.

The slave mistress appears to be a tiefling. She is sitting on a large spiderlike construct, which is reinforced with what seems like gold plating.

"I understand you're responsible for killing quite a big portion of this mine's workforce. Although death is not uncommon in the Mana Wastes, it's survival that's the rule of the lands. Please tell me your intentions so we might find a mutually agreeable solution."

"The death of the work force is rather unfortunate. We can see you have quite the mining operation. Backed by some impressive coin I imagine... we are here in an exploratory manner, ones that usually ends up with casualties... The tracks into the mine have caused us to become curious and an enquiring mind such as mine can be dangerous..."

Looking around the area, philton tries to take stock of the intimidating scene...

"Your slaves, why do you keep such labour? Working from an abandoned mine means that you're the disposable liability Mistress, you see your master is having you hiding away down here fulfilling their desires while you're the busy defending yourselves, they are shall we say turning the political cogs of the Alkenstar... You are here, dirty, sweaty and for what, to further someones else career... you've been duped and because of this you are clearly disposable... You Mistress clearly have desires and we can help you achieve this..."

"I can't blame you for defending yourselves against the ogres, Violence seems to be the only thing they understand. I've taken my axe to beat unruly ones back into submission more than once!" she says while glancing to her left.

"I'm an independent contractor, so my loyalties are not absolute. For the right offer, I might be able to divulge my knowledge of the local operation."

In Abyssal instead, philton repeats what he previously posted...

Switching to Taldane... "You see My fellow here Maxxuud is part of another faction of this conglomerate... He wishes freedom for slaves, well we all wish this... A slave is only interested in performing his duties enough not to be scorned; where as we at the Pathfinder Society have interns and staff; very much like slaves and more durable and willing to perform tasks eagerly...

Looking quite obviously around this room Philton stop on the constructs... Continuing in Taldane"We have delayed your masters plans quite significantly and they are going to blame your leadership, no... You appear resourceful and if we work together we can channel your efforts for a better purpose..."

Returning to Abyssal "Plus I'm not sure but my friend here is all about the vengeance and your bully boys have stirred up his ego... Your Ogres were torturing a slave south of here and ended up killing him in the most unfortunate ways... My friend will need satisfaction, some for of Vengeance appeased..."

Returning to Taldane, "No matter what bargain we broker, the slave will have to be freed."

"Although I am currently in charge of this operation, neither the orges, nor the humans, nor the halflings are my property. I do feel responsible and I treat them quite well. I'm sure many of them would not even want to leave."

"I'm appalled to hear the ogres killed a slave. To be honest I'm not that surprised, as I told my employer having those brutes so many days without carnage, is an accident waiting to happen. However, I am shocked to hear you were unable to save the poor victim."

"Your interference probably has halted operations indefinitely. My employers won't be pleased but my guess is it won't be me they'll be looking for."

Mistress Metruni emphasizes the word employers, clearly to show her discontent with Philton's use of the word masters.

"For the right price, I could be persuaded to point you in the right direction."

In Taldane, "Sorry, your employers... The compass always finds its way north and a Pathfinder always makes their way to Skyreach..."

Philton contemplates the price..."What sort of price are you thinking, gold? I thought somebody with ambition could see beyond these shiny trinkets..."

Metruni chuckles.

"Well, there might be something other than gold you could give."

"Here in the mana wastes someone not mutated is a commodity. I need someone uncorrupted to perform a certain ritual with me. It would not bring you harm and would potentially grant gifts beyond our wildest dreams."

"It would take about eight hours, and afterward I will give you all the information you'll need to continue your quest. Your friends will all be fully rested, but I can't say the same for you."

Using the power of being a Detective Philton uses Sense Motive to initiate the ability. 1d20 + 30 ⇒ (15) + 30 = 45

While Philton speaks, Maxxuud would like to detect evil without invoking the usual visual cues that normally happen.

Afterwards, he addresses the tiefling

"You are the mistress of these ogres. Their disregard of life and their aggression demands Vengence, not bargening. You are shocked that we could not save the life! If was your responsibility, not ours. And you show little remorse, no compassion. Rulers like you are a scourge on the lands."
