"We should explore these trapped corridors. I personally think that we should charge down the corridors, and meet any foe with our righteous might. However, knowing your preference for scouting Philton, you should use your arcane eye to explore them first. I will yield to your will in this occasion. And if you have any time left, you can always send it down that long, steep corridor."

The perceptive party members notice a wry smirk from Maxxuud

Philton's magic eye easily detects several deadfall traps. Their crude design seems to suggest that these are the work of gugs. They are baited with rotting meat and a sizable stone of some sort. Each trap is made with a piece of the decline winch.
"Maybe we should dismantle these traps for these winch pieces?"
The stone is clearly bait, but without proper light you can't see the color and have no idea what kind of (gem)stone it is.
The piece of decline winch is the part that will drop on you if you trigger the trap, so it's quite big and heavy.
As you go to the first trap you can determine the stone is an emerald is easily worth 1,000 gp.
You can easily carefully lower the winch piece with Philton's disable device.
Same for the 2nd and 3rd trap.

The eye arrives in a cave.
The ceiling to this grotto sinks down to a mere ten feet, and the cavern’s floor makes a sudden thirty-foot drop below. At the base of the drop, the floor becomes a fine silt rather than hard stone.
Going down South and to the Western cavern the eye detects several traps, a secret door and a flooded chamber.

There's also remnants of a distillery and a hole accessible from the silt leading somewhere.

Philton cracks a little smile, and winks at Maxxuud...
The floor of this spacious, 10-foot-tall cavern chamber is covered in the same silt as the adjacent grotto. Scattered, empty bottles and rusted
flasks on the ground betray that this cave was used by the miners as a drinking den.
Philton spots a corner of a dun tarp which seems to be placed there to obscure some secret cache.
"Lets investigate this tarp... I'm sure this quicksand is going to eat us... Are you coming Maxxuud?"
Maxxuud and Philton carefully scale down the wall and go down the hole and look under the tarp. Beneath it are 5 days’ worth of rations, three potions of cure moderate wounds, a bag of dust of disappearance, two elixirs of tumbling, and a newly crafted flask of dust of weighty burdens.
As Philton and Maxxuud return to the grotto and make their way back the silt covered floor trembles and a large invertebrate covered with dark purple plates of chitinous armor pierces the surface.
Moving into the sword-kata crane stance, Maxxuud moves forward and strikes the Gargantuan worm, fighting defensively and evading using his practiced guile, without his power attack.
"Begone pest.. Get back to your habitat and out of our way."

Tyranyx flies into the far end of the cavern and sees the huge pulsating purple worm. 'That's a big one', she thinks.
Concentrating on the purple phallic shape in the distance, Tyranyx conjures up a sparkling ball of glitter that she launches through the air at the worm.
Tyranyx adds extra arcane glitter to the ball, upping the effectiveness of the glittery spell.

The worm is all glittery and swings its maw at Maxxuud

The worm saves against Philton's spell
Tyranyx does what she always does. Makes things taste the pain. Concentrating on her spell, Tyranyx infuses it with empowered magic and swings a burning arc at the worm, using her arcanist power to up the DC to 25
She then takes a 5' fly to the side.
The worm probably would retreat now, but as it is under effect of Deja Vu it attacks Maxxuud again.
Party is up!
Tyranyx serves up the same roasting to the big worm again, taking a 5' fly afterwards.
The worm manages to survive the roasting.

Maxxuud takes the awesome blow and is flung back to the ground. Ow. He caresses the wound with his hand
Maxxuud then takes a total defense action, still beguiling the worm.
He then stands up and takes a 5' step towards the worm.
Deja Vu! - with the exception that Maxxuud heals an extra 3 from the fast healing of his LoH last round.
