The chef frowns a bit when trying to tap into Deltas mind, smiles knowingly at Elisan.
"I'm just incredibly gifted" replies the chef in regard to AMOSU's questions, "I can tap into the deepest desires of your sub-conscious and understand your palate and find out what it is yearning for - things you haven't tried, forgotten favourites, the 'taste for adventure' you never knew you had"

Rahdokama reminds the party of their mission by politely rejecting the chef's request. He steps between them and their guest. "I don't think this is very appropriate here. Although we do not distrust your intentions, I do not believe our guest would appreciate her mind being examined. Please prepare whatever finest dishes you have on reserve. The Starfinder Society will pay you generously for your services.
Or maybe our guest had a preference for something in particular?" he turns towards Guardian Shrani and raises his eye.
The chef rolls their eyes at the comments, muttering something indiscernible under their breath "Take your seat, this isn't a performance space - chef's surprise all round then" they offer, almost as a rebuke "Sometimes brilliance is wasted, I mean...I can see you don't come here that often" they look over your attire judgingly.
Shrani simply looks on, very interested in how the Starfinder Societies representatives deal with issues.
The chef begins preparing the meals, still muttering to themself....

"I am wonderrring...does that mean that if I think of a giant marshmallow man you will be serrrving me marshmallows?"
Charlie is curious where this is going to end up.
"I like the..what do you call it..finger foods where you orderr enough for the table and we can all share and pick what we want...can we orrderr a set-up like that for the table? With the little hotdogs on a stick? I like those..oh..and meatballs in some sauce"
The look the chef gives Charlie is almost not condescending, "Something like that, it's more an artistic understanding, understanding the flavours, textures - saltiness, sweetness, bitterness, sourness, and umami"
At the mention of a share plate with hotdogs on sticks and meatballs in sauce the chef looks pretty livid, but gets back to cooking.

AMOSU watches the exchanges between the chef and the team, trying to comprehend the nuances. "I have never eaten dog, hot or cold. Is hot dog the preferred method? Is this an expression of temperature or seasoning? I was unaware of the consumption of canines within Ferran culture." AMOSU tilts its head quizzically and turns to the chef. "What is the most frequent preparation of canine, hot or cold?"
The chef fumes quietly as the meal is prepared, meanwhile, the Dignitary seems a bit perplexed with the antagonism. Whilst is clear that some of the unique meals have been tailor crafted, the 'unbelievers' simply get plated up “house surprise” which is little more than a random assortment of varied foods.
The dignitary samples some of the foods and loudly proclaims "This is delicious!"
You can see some minor swelling occur after the dignitary’s first mouthful; possibly an allergy!
Shrani looks confused for a moment, her brow furrows, "This isn't another jab at the chef is it"
The chef looks over at the table intently, waiting to see any reactions,

Ella stands and walks over to the chef. She keeps her voice down. "Have you ever cooked for a damai? It appears our guest is experiencing an allergic reaction. Unless this was an intentional part of your experience, I suggest you help us find a suitable place to examine her and provide medical assistance if necessary. Otherwise, this experience could become widely known, which would hurt your reputation. You can also help by providing a list of ingredients you used, especially uncommon ones."
Shrani drops her spoon in shock at the revelation, but is convinced the party might be correct. The chef doesn't respond well to the diplomatic overtures, instead they get incredibly incensed "A toaster wants to lecture me on food and preparation?! Do I look like I take instructions from a microwave?"
The chef points their cleaver at Ella, "You are clearly faking the episode to avoid paying for the meal. You don't fit in here and have beeen making trouble all along, clearly you have been sent by those amateurs down the road as plants to spoil our reputation! PAY UP AND LEAVE!" the chef finishes by stepping up to Ella with a withering glare.

AMOSU moves next to the Guardian and takes out its medkit, "If you'll please stay seated for a moment I'll see if I can't address the reaction." Taking out several histamine blockers, AMOSU prepares a corrective dose of medication to prevent any further reaction and to help relieve any symptoms setting in.

Carefully passing food beneath his face covering, Elisan is distracted by his enjoyment of the chef's handiwork. Unaware of the Guardian's predicament, he is initially confused by the hubbub.
Catching on, he remains seated for the moment, not wanting to further provoke the chef. Instead, he watches closely for how the chef reacts.

Amosu is quite skilled and manages to treat the reaction - luckily he had an epipen in his Starfinder day-pack.
Charlie is massively enjoying his meal, so the chef isn't focussing on him.
Elisan can tell the chef is quite wound up, but also notices the vesk bouncers on their way through the club.
Delta, at face value, appears to be leaving - so the chef is mostly ignoring him.

Ella stares down the chef though out of bravery or confusion, you don't quite know. "You're refusing to provide assistance to a special guest? We are happy to pay for the meal, one that was most excellent in fact. We would just like to know the ingredients to determine what may have caused the allergy. If you don't know the ingredients in your own dishes, that would be very surprising."
The chef is shaken by Ellas retort with Rahdos backing, but is standing their ground "This is all a fake charade, there is nothing wrong with your guest, this is just a shake down!" the chef grips their cleaver tightly. Other diners have stopped eating, and are watching the spectacle unfold, and the dignitary looks a bit bewildered.

AMOSU observes the rise in aggression for a moments before realizing the dignitary may be uncomfortable. It whispers to the Guardian, "This practice is often called haggling over the bill, more common in marketplaces than restaurants." It gives a weak smile before turning to the team.
AMOSU motions to the dining area, "I would suggest we leave any determination of fault for exposure to life-threatening allergens to the patrons. I believe the appropriate protocol for endangering a guests life, especially a foreign dignitary is to provide a free meal along with dessert."
AMOSU tries its best to add to the intimidation of the chef.

Mouth agape beneath his face covering, Elisan looks around, incredulous at the unfolding events. This is how Starfinders operate? he wonders. I suppose it's too late to change course now.
Standing, he moves to intercept the security guard. "Thank the gods you're here! You arrived just in time. That chef is crazy! He has insulted us, tried to kill our companion - an honoured offworld diplomat! - and is now imagining that we are spies, secretly trying to discredit him. You need to get him out of here before he can hurt himself - or others." he says, looking pointedly at the gawking restaurant patrons.

Amosu has a list of the various ingredients in the meal, but would have to run a few tests on the Diplomat to see what was the trigger.
The whole restaurant has pretty much stopped to watch the scene, Elisan seems to be smoothing things over but the chef is still trying to glare-down Ella.
"What seems to be the problem?" the Vesk asks, seemingly trying to validate Elisans story.

AMOSU moves forward slightly and motions to the medkit and items on the table, "Thank you for assisting again. It appears your chef has added an ingredient which resulted in Guardian Kokulul, a dignitary, experiencing an allergic reaction. When we sought his assistance for treatment he became aggressive and accusatory," AMOSU points to the cleaver in the chef's fist, "We only wished to confirm the ingredients to properly treat the dignitary in our care."
AMOSU then leans next to the Guardian, whispering, "Are you feeling well? Do you require anything else? I believe the haggling moves in our favor." AMOSU looks over the Guardian with genuine concern.

Rahdokhama pushes past the guard to address the croud of people. Is this really what the best of Absaloms finest have to offer? You really wish to spend credits at an establishment who's head shef accidentally mistakes her food and cripples an esteemed guest! People- I urge you to stand for what is right. Help us convince this chef to explain himself. I didn't survive through Live, Exploration, Extreme with my squad to watch a guest suffer to simple food poisoning. Hold the chef m accountable. What do you say, will you help us?!
The vesk stands there blinking with his fellow bouncer, the chef looks livid, but AMOSU reaffirms Elisans story whilst Rahdo makes calming and reasonable overtures.
"They're faking it all! They're plants from our competitors!" the chef complains - clearly in a complete fit of pique.
Your diplomat guest is really unsure to make of what is going on.

AMOSU nods, "Agreed, perhaps management could better address this situation."
AMOSU turns to Guardian Kokulul, quietly "Rest assured all is well Guardian. It is customary for management to assist in negotiations. It is a sign that the haggling continues to go in our favor. Negotiation can be so exhilarating can they not?" AMOSU continues to keep a calm front for the dignitary.
"Credits for the meals, and beat ya feet out to the street" the Vesk finally decides.
Shrani looks sceptical about the description but doesn't challenge it "That security officer is asking us to leave, does this mean the negotiations have not progressed to the satisfaction of all parties?"

Charlie puts the last of his food into his mouth and rubbing his now full belly before answering Shrani
"Well...I'm satisfied and the meals over, so normally that's the time to pay and leave."
Charlie then scratches the top of his bald head as he notices that the others haven't even touched most of their food yet
'..uhm, well..it's over for me I mean.."
'Maybe we can get the left-overs in a to go container and enjoy a picknick in a nearby park?" he asks hopefully as he perks up at the thought of more food.
You collectively beat it to the street outside, the credstick (charged to the Society) gets a workout as big as your appetites. The Diplomat still looks confused.
