Gorak moves with a quickness that you have rarely seen from him in the past, ready to leap further into the first world or defend his slower allies. He waves the greatsword in the general direction of the hunt.
"Right you are! Here's to a good hunt, I'll be all welcoming and the like when you meet the steely blade!" He laughs and frolicks as he heads away from the Fey with the other pathfinders.
Unlike other adventures, this chase scene is more for flavor rather than the mechanics of a chase. How this work is each of you will describe yourself running through the forest while being chased followed by a skill check that makes sense for your story. I will award up to a + 4 bonus on the check if you write something up that captures the scene describes your actions well. You each only get one skill check and will be busy doing your own check so aiding wont be an option. Creative solutions may also grant you a bonus (but won't exceed the + 4). Once everyone posts their pieces, I will conclude the chase.
Just as a reminder, you are still in the random season location here. It will not incur any mechanical issues, but just a reminder for flavor.
The Hunt, as promised lets you run into the woods with a head start. A couple minutes later, you hear the hunt horn and you know it has begun...

Vinnie immediately takes to the trees, using his prehensile tail and natural climbing ability to move from one tree to another. "Ah, this reminds me of the carefree days of my youth! What, aren't you going to chase us? Come on! I thought you said you were hunters..." Aldar thinks about running. He thinks about his fellow pathfinders. Finally, he thinks about his skills. He sprints a short distance away before spinning back around to face the Wild Hunt. "Come. You'll have to get by me to continue hunting."

Cortland takes off running through the woods. Looking left and right he looks over the terrain looking for a down hill slope. Running downhill will lead to a river or something hopefully. That will provide a place to lose the trackers.
Gorak, legs enchanced by his mental focus, darts off into the underbrush. He looks back and forth- trying to find the small ripples that make the first world so difficult to predict. How to harness the powers here? Where can I hide, teleport, or change color!
He finds a red plant, about the color of his double breasted jacket, and attempts to wrap himself in the magical leaves.
Well... I have no clue how to resolve Aldar's actions haha
The group continues darting through the woods, arrows flying by and the sound of horns behind you. Jang gets a sense of where to move and go to stay ahead of the fey and Vinnie is able to climb the trees giving a better view to direct his allies plus move faster. Courtland tries to relies on his realm's logic to lead to some water, but is unable to find the water he was expecting. Gorak, tries to hind in a plant that he was sure to help but turns out it makes him so itchy he is unable to stay hidden for long. These last two action do not slow the groups movement, but they also do not help you get ahead.
After running for a short period of time, you burst into the same glade that you were fleeing from. This seems odd, but it is the First World. You get the sense that there must be a trick to leaving but you don't have the time to test that now. The behind the scenes look into this is that essentially the fight is resolved here. The chase scene gives you the chance to get to the fight scene early allowing time to buff and position yourselves. You get here 1 round ahead of the enemies, plus another round per success.
I think I know how I will resolve Aldar's. Your action will count as an auto success for the group. Each of my enemies will get a single ranged attack action on you. This will also putting you reaching the glade 2 rounds after the rest of the group.
As Aldar turns back to pull some focus on him while the others get away, the enemies show surprisingly great aim. As the first arrow comes in, Aldar manages to deflect it off the side but there is nothing he can do about the other two that strike into him. One arrow comes whistling by his head. After deflect arrows, you take 4 damage Aldar
This gives you four rounds before the enemies show back up. Please do what you want to get ready for the fight and post when you are ready. Also have yourself on the map where you want to be (as long as you have enough movement to do that by the end of the four rounds). I will have a red arrow on the map to show the direction that the enemies are coming from. Aldar, you will only have two rounds before the baddies show up.

I will run Murder's Mark next if everyone is still up for it. It's tier 1-2 and I believe we will all now be level 2.2 (at the end of this scenario), so it will be our last chance at it before we tier out of it. It also awards 3 xp so at the end of it we will all be nearly 4th level, which should open up some more play options for us.

The faun plays a quick tune on his panpipes as he steps back and casts a spell as at Gorak while telling a joke. Will save dc 17 (you get an additional +4 to the save because the joke doesn't match your humor). If you fail, you fall prone laughing at the joke. On your turn, you can make the save again (still with the + 4)but costs you that full round. He then points at Aldar and says, Get that one, he is injured!
The others blatantly ignore him and fire their bows. The snake person takes a step back first and fires at Gorak. His arrow misses by a mile. The other one step out from behind the faun and fires at Vinnie. This arrow comes very close to hitting, but misses as well.
Everyone is up. Everyone besides Gorak will take the -2 to melee attack from the summer effect. As the round transitions to round two... The sun dims a bit, bring a nice fall breeze. Gorak, mostly ignoring Jan, sets out to grab a few motes of electrical energy in a random vial hooked to his belt. He mumbles over his shoulder something about "not dying in the first world", but it is hard to make out.
Once he as managed to grab some motes, he looks around and blinks- trying to remember what he was doing before he was distracted.
"Ah, yes! Back to our world, shall we Mates? Backwards you say? Seems appropriate!" and he prepares to walk backwards out of the grove.
After collecting gear and stabilizing the few who could be. the group begins walking backwards from the direction they came. It isn't long before you return the frozen lake that took you here. You know that to get home, you need to repeat the ritual of spinning in the water. This supposed to require a swim check again but there is no consequence for failing besides needing to retry and that will just add something unnecessary to the adventure.
After a couple minutes, the whole group spins their way back to their realm. In each of your hands appears the item you offered to plane. Each touched in a strange way by the first wold magic.
Gorak turns the hat over in his hands, inspecting the beloved accessory to ensure that no harm has become of it. Assuring himself that all is right with the hat, he places it on his head. Unbeknownst to Gorak, the color immediately shifts from a deep velvet red to a bright verdant green.
"Right-o! Just who we were expecting to find! I think we have procured something that belongist to you, good sir!"

I think items on chronicle sheets in pathfinder are pretty worthless, unless you are playing core (where you can get access to non-core things).
They don't change the cost of anything that you purchase. If its an item that you can't buy because of fame- its unlikely you have the gold to buy it. If you have the gold to buy it, you likely have the fame needed to buy it right off.
Perhaps in the early days where you are limited to less than 2000 or 4000 gp- but otherwise I almost never pay attention to items i have "available"

I'm going to miss PF1 (I'll keep playing it as long as possible, but I'm skeptical about how much staying power it will have at least in our local venues, though I think PbP will go strong for awhile) but I'm hoping that PF2 really hits it out of the park and people play it more because they like it more. When I started playing PF1 here (Atlanta) we had a really thriving scene - tons of players and tables and venues - and now it is slowly but surely withering, so I'm hopeful that PF2 can inject some new life. I haven't tried D&D 5, but from what I've heard I think I like the PF model a lot better so I hope it can recapture people's interest.
I struggled with a lot of the balance issues in PF2. I played a couple of characters and I never really thought there was much class variation. Some of the gameplay flowed well, others didnt.
5E, on the otherhand, is an excellent system. It does a great job of getting the game mechanics out of the way of the story- allowing for easy rules adjudication and resolution. They also did a good job of finding ways to keep the classes very different and unique while pulling back on the overall character power.
PF2 on the otherhand didn't seem to flow as well as 5E, and the classes all felt functionally the same. There wasn't much to differentiate or customize- everything was just vanilla. Everyone rolled basically the same to hit. Everyone rolled basically the same damage. It just felt... flat.
Hey guys, I am finding it harder and harder to find time to post since I moved. I plan to finish this adventure out ith doing my best to post once a day (but may have a bit of a delay some days) but I think this will be my last game for awhile. If I can get back to a consistant scheudle, I might work on getting back in to PBP but for now, this seems to be a hobby I will need to pull back from. I am sorry.
As I said, I will finish this one just please bare with me if I miss a day or two. I am sorry for this guys. It has been really enjoyable playing with you all .

Really do not worry! A game should never be a burden but a fun experience! :-)
What about the others? We have not really done much so we could also abort the game here so LoreMaster can relax and one of us continues GMing? I would volunteer to GM the next game.
I don't mind finishing this out. I have slowly weened it down that this is one of my two current games. I can finish this one out as long as you don't mind the slow pace.

I'm cool with a slower pace. I over commit myself all the time and would not mind this game moving a bit slower.
That is sooooo frustrating! Over the weekend, I made a really long post that concluded the fight and explained everything around you. It would seem that the boards have eaten that post. That was the kind that takes over an hour to type.
Expect a post coming up soon. I am sorry, I thought my post went through.
Sorry guys! I am on vacation with the family. I thought I would be better about internet access- but I have hardly even thought about it! Sorry, not sorry!

I am also sorry, I have been slow to post this week. Today is my brothers wedding and this week, far more responsibilities than expected were given to me. As such, I have been super busy and felt bad for not getting to post. Today and possible tomorrow will be rough but I should get back on track shortly. I am sorry!
With my really slow posting rate, I think I will bow out until I am on a normal schedule everyday again because I find it hard to either remember to post or time to post. I do apologize if this hurts the group, I just hate being the one who slows a whole game down. [/ooc]

Hi guys, I am on vacation starting tomorrow for three weeks so please bot me as I will only be able to post every couple of days. Sorry for any inconvenience caused!
Hey guys, as we near the beginning of August, I need to inform you of some changes to my presence here on the boards. On August 19th, I'll be starting full-time graduate school while working full-time as a teacher. I don't really know what to expect in terms of workload from graduate school, but I've heard its...quite intensive. To that end, I'm significantly cutting back on my PbP campaigns.
This will be my last game in this rotation, but I don't think I've run a game for us yet, so I apologize that I may not be able to do so in the near future. Hopefully I'll be able to repay the favor of being able to participate in these games in the future, but I'm not so sure when that will happen.

Good luck, stay awesome and if you are around hit me up for a game.
