[SFS] 1-04. Cries from the Drift (Inactive)

Game Master therealthom

A Starfinder Society Scenario designed for levels 1-4.
A missing Starfinder ship's distress signal would have gone unnoticed were it not for a passerby detecting it and selling the information to the Society. The PCs are to travel to the crippled starship, and once aboard, reach the bridge in order to piece together the tragic story of the vessel's lost crew. Only by unraveling the mysteries of the drifting starship can the PCs hope to uncover information critical to the Exo-Guardians future operations.
Content in Cries From the Drift also contributes to the ongoing goals of the Exo-Guardians faction.
Scenario includes spaceship combat.

Survivor's Salvation

Hellih and Kai give Patterson room to deal with the hostile alien. Kai's first shot goes wide.

Hermena's gun glitches. She tries again, but Patterson's movements make the shot difficult, and she misses.

Patterson provides soft cover and the machine is not marked analog or archaic, so -6 on that attack.

Steev wades into the fight. He steps up beside Patterson and buries the doshko in the floor when his target lightly steps aside.

Alzandre patiently waits for an opening and sends three magic missiles streaking at the target. They start to veer out of control as they near the creature, but still strike its arms and a leg.

Yow, SR at first level. Alzandre draws first blood anyway.

No interference with tech weapons this round.

Survivor's Salvation

Alzandre, it had a surprise round to get close. You are free to try an ID check anytime you want. Just list the order in which you'd like to know things with your roll. (Special defenses, special attacks, vulnerabilities, etc). This one is a mysticism check.

My 'Yow!' was surprise. You don't often see SR at first level. It was foresighted of you to roll SR with the attack.

Patterson hits.

Leaving for vacation. Will try to squeeze its action in at the airport.

Is the glitch on Hermena’s weapon just descriptive for a miss, or was it from the monster? I only ask because the squat machine gun has the analog trait, so a glitch shouldn’t affect it.

Hermena grimaces, trying to get a better angle on the target. In the chaos of the Malay, she decides to use her weapon to help her companions rather than ship the creature directly.

Survivor's Salvation

Hermena. sorry . I used archive of Nethys and I would swear that it didn't list the machine gun as analog, but rechecking it now -- it does say analog. It was a miss either way.

Alandre recognizes the creature as an immature xill, normally an inhabitant of the etheral plane. As a planar creature it has a natural resistance to magic. (SR 14)

Patterson lands a heavy blow with his hammer.

The creature grabs at him again, and opens its mandibles wide to bite again. The jaws breach the armor covering his thigh and rend his flesh. The man feels a cold chill in his blood.

Looks like either I forgot to move the xill last post, or the move didn't take. Thanks to whoever marked the square it should have been in with the X. Steev, I took the liberty of moving you to an attack postion

Kai wings the creature. Patterson smashes the captain's chair, just as it jumps off. Steev's doshko is similarly just a hair behind the quick little menace as it changes direction. Hellih fires well wide, and Alzandre's mystic bolts crumble and fade on impact. Hermena steps in and puts a slug through its thigh.

If I recall correctly we took the ship's log, and we took the gifts or remains from the beds of the Kasathas. The is still a power armor which hopefully holds a deadly spirit and a set of bodies that exploded with flesh-eating bugs. Is that a fair summary?

Survivor's Salvation

A very fair summary. You have the ship's log -- your primary mission goal. You have items from each of the 4 kasatha crew members from the beds. I don't believe that you have anything from the android Blue-sky 101, or the captain yet.
