Looking around the group as Veridis gives his task, the Bastard just smiles and shakes ectoplasm from his blade. "Oh, I owe them for trying to use me like a weapon, I'm in. Can we rest at the inn for the night, it was quite a hike to get out here. Do you happen to have a priest in town capable of casting Restoration?"

It's not that I've spotted them so much as people acting strangely, not knowing things they should know. "I'm sorry but the only one capable of that is Marlus. I think she's still upset with you, even though she was out of her mind at the time."

He begins to talk about his cat who's name is Simon, he gushes about how he rescued him, and nursed him back to health. Its clear that he loves the cat dearly.

As you travel about the World Ash you see what at first you think is snow but then you realize is frost fallen from some leaf above you. You see the source of the disturbance, several giant eagles taking flight and flying into wherever the sky lead. That's when you spot the ratatosk who are following you.

Reign of Winter Map Carrion Hill Map

Glittereye reels from the slander, "Whaaa? I never a-tacked y-y-you. A-a-anyway lets go!" He makes sure to accentuate his butt wiggle as he leaps from branch to branch for Rinika as he leads you down a different path.

Congratulations you've 100% the Yggdrasil map.

The Salience is a monument or cathedral built into and around a huge rift on one of Yggdrasil's branches. Veridis explained that it was created by the Giant Eagles of Yggdrasil long ago for some unknown purpose but has long been abandoned.

The scare is 20ft wide and 30ft deep and around 240ft in length, a giant staircase has been carved into both ends, why this was done by flying creatures is a mystery. Niches have been gouged out on top of and within the scare and 8ft tall carvings of eagles have been placed within. Due to the neglect some of the carvings are damage or missing altogether.

Glittereye leads you along a branch that hangs overhead the Salience and as you approach you can see the visages of evil on the Tree. Eight in total wait for the messenger.

Due to the vantage you have you get a +2 circumstance to stealth checks here, as well as a +2 assist from Glittereye. Oh and I need stealth checks from everyone who wants to listen in.

Then he whispers "Long distance whispering. Just got to stay within ... a bit over a hundred feet. I'll be a bit behind Rinika to stay in touch. Oh, and everyone can whisper back too."
Each member of the team hears Nik's whisper as though he were doing it from inches away.

I'm not 100% sure that Nik can whisper to just some individuals, but I think that's what the pointing is for...
Either way, Nik wants everyone to hear that bit now that Jek has reminded him that not everyone knows simple cantrips ;P

Also, do I need to roll stealth if I'm 100-150' behind Rinika? xD

edit: because trigonometry, if Rinika is directly overhead 150', and Nik is 150' behind her (at a right angle, but it looks like it'd be less), Nik would only be an extra ~60' away. So maybe Nik wouldn't even get a big distance bonus for this...
edit2: with that nat20, maybe Nik doesn't need much distance bonus ^_^
edit3: The shamblers are going to have standing orders to follow Jek until something attacks Jek or Conor, at which point they're suppose to attack that guy/thing :3

You get into position with Glittereye and Rinika bravely taking point directly above the eight creatures. Further back is Nik and further back even still is the rest of the party, hopefully far enough that Conor's constant metal on metal screeching doesn't alert the mysterious undead.

The ethereal not literally, are silent and practically motionless, obviously waiting for something. The stake out takes a while, so long that Rinika and Nik think they might need to regroup to recast their spells. But they begins to writhe with apparent anticipation as wisps of smoke or steam begin to roll down the steps on the far side of the gallery. The ghostly monsters give it their full attention. The clouds of mist takes the form of a small, winged humanoid creature with pale green skin. It makes its way down the steps and announces, "I bring news from Thanatos."

Planes DC 18:
It is a steam mephit, a lowly creature from the quasi-elemental plane of Steam. Mephits are frequently used by spellslingers as messengers. Note that steam mephits in Planescape are different than the ones listed in Paizo's bestiaries.

A different Planes check or Religion, DC 25, Nik gets his necrophilia bonus:
Thanatos is a layer of the Abyss. It is the 113th layer also know as the Belly of Death. It is ruled by the drow Power Kiaransalee. She is a Power of vengeance and undead. It is a cold plane of ice, thin air, and a black moonlit sky. Nothing truly lives there, no fields or forests, not even twisted groves of Abyssal viper trees.

If you got a 30 on religion only

Spoiler:
It's rumored that Kiaransalee wrested the layer from an Abyssal lord of the undead, the lord's name is unknown as it has been struck from every monument, slave band, and scroll. Even those beyond the confines of the Abyss.

The mephit continues to address them. “Your master commands you to remain near the tree-city. Very shortly, he shall remove the insect that thwarted your previous efforts and shall recover the bloom himself: For at long last, one of the perpetrators has been located and is now securely held within Tcian Sumere, at the Bottom of the Multiverse.” The small, misty creature pauses for effect. “Your master has also bid me to add: ‘None shall rest until my vengeance is complete. All who stand in my way shall face the wrath of that which was wrought in the ancient halls of the realm now known only for dust.’ ”

As soon as the messenger is done speaking the eight gathered spectral visages suddenly and viciously attack it, once the poor sod is rendered to bits the fiend states simply, "No one may know the master's secrets!" They begin to leave the Salience. If you're going to make a move now is the time, Rinika is 50ft directly above them.

As she does so, she casts a spell targeting 7 of the 8 spirits, then tries to hide again.

Casting Shadowmind on the creatures, Will DC 17 or they're affected as if the light level is one lower for them and they don't have darkvision/low light (effectively 20% miss chance for them at this point.)

Lol, I just realized that I hadn't swapped out Tiny Hut for Fireball after all. OH WELL. Maybe we'll need concealment for attacking at range in the near future? xD

Nik takes aim with his crossbow and fires at the nearest visage.

Nik fires his crossbow launches a tiny glowing bead which explodes into a ball of fire (DC 18) at the center of the group of undead abominations.

Fire Damage (DC 18 reflex for half): 7d6 ⇒ (3, 5, 3, 6, 4, 2, 4) = 27

all 8 guys fit inside a 40' wide circle, right? :D
Especially since the walls at the base of the crack aren't that wide :D

Nik tosses his spell and after a roar of scalding flame he sees the damage he's wrought. Just over half of the visages are unaffected at all! Only one was very badly burned with the other two only slightly singed. He has managed to completely destroy several of the eagle statues, a testament to his commitment of property damage.

Glitter-eye calls out in surprisingly good common while tossing an acorn at one of the visages, "Your muscles are as soggy as a used tea bag!" Suddenly the bark underneath Yggdrasil reaches up and grabs at the visages' lower extremities.

Crap. Should've whispered to the squirrel too... Well, this will probably be better than my hug-of-doom plan.

"Get out of there! I can hold 'em still and maybe crush the unlife out of 'em!" Nik shouts. He then casts Black Tentacles on the bit of branch next to 7 of the 8 monsters before stepping back fifteen feet.
CMB of the TENTACLES vs all 7 of 'em: 1d20 + 7 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 7 + 4 + 1 = 22 please tell me they have less than 23 CMD <3
Damage if they have less than 23 CMD: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9 I think this is also one roll for the whole spell, but I'm not sure...

Black Tentacles should last 'till the bottom of round 7, I believe...
Also, Nik moved 15' right, so that's why the tentacles can reach as far as they do :3
Also, it's weird finding the overlap between a 20' radius circle that starts at a point and a 170' radius circle that starts at a square...
