"If we get into a tough scrape, you will each agree to protect each other. In exchange, the spell will make it so that as long as one of you stands, everyone can remain standing.

If one of you were about to submit to their wounds and go unconscious, the spell will leech health from the healthy members of the pact and give the health to the one getting wounded.

I would include myself as well, though I would contribute little to the pact. However, weakened as I am, I can only bring the four of you into the pact."

Niu shrugs. "Not that I saw. You could always carry the lid of a sarcophagus, if that is useful.

I wish that I could make you larger Ranok, but the corridors here are a bit too cramped."

Once Zeira agrees, Niu instructs Ranok to prick Khonsu's paw as well. As the party allows their blood to mingle together, Ranok begins reciting in Ancient Osirian and sprinkles a handful of sand to mix with their blood.

After the spell is cast, each of the party members can suddenly sense the life force of the others, and feels their health. Completely flavor, naturally

Resting against the wall in the sarcophagus room, Niu motions toward the door on the opposite wall.

"Well, go ahead, let's clear out that last room and then go after the big bad."


They only had the swords, no shields. Lesser restoration will cure the strength damage, but not level loss.

This chamber has suffered a cave-in and now most of it is crushed beneath tons of rock, clay, and earth. One sarcophagus near the entrance, its lid carved with a vaguely feminine form, escaped destruction, although it has mostly crumbled away. There is a ghostly creature that is little more than a dark shape with two flickering pinpoints of light where its eyes should be occupying this chamber. An attractive feminine voice speaks to you in an ancient and long forgotten language. Khonsu senses its presence and moves to get more than 30 feet from it. A DC 25 handle animal will change his mind.

Niu moved into the center of the main chamber to get the creature in the light so he can see it.

Niu's knowledge of religion identifies this as a wraith. He knows them to be undead incorporeal beings capable of draining life from their victims. They are very sensitive to sunlight and those killed by a wraith become wraiths.

Once Rhen steps out of the way, Niu will activate the Gem of Brightness to send a ray of light at the Wraith. I can't pull up the full description ATM, but I think that blinds the wraith for a few rounds

I didn't see it on the map before, sorry. However, I believe I can draw a line from the bottom right corner of my square to the bottom right corner of the wraith's square without crossing any obstacles, so I do have line of sight.

Regardless, I was attempting to avoid cover, which the wraith does currently have. Can I change my readied action to activate when the wraith appears in the room we are in?

Ziera accepts the spell, she follows and hearing wraith she nods and readies to strike as her aura of courage keeps her ready to take on anything.

The wraith moves forward five feet, continuing to speak with a lovely female voice in an unknown language. Niu's gem of brightness hits her with a bright flash of light. Hefting his new, but possibly ancient, longsword, Ranok steps up into the face of this new dead thing, and sticks it to it!

Also, your PENATLTY from taking 4 CON drain is -2. So the HP deduction is only 10.

However, The calculation is a bit more complicated, since you are also taking level drain. From the previous rules snippet that is 5xdrain = 15. The total HP reduction is 25, I think, but I am not sure I trust that calculation. Personally, I would ask HeroLab to figure it out for me...

BTW: CON DRAIN instead of damage. Wraiths are nasty!!

Ranok does not even see Khonsu slink back into the previous room. He is focused on this thing in front of him. Frustrated at missing with his fancy new sword, he squints his eyes and tries for a thrust to the midsection.

The 5th level paladin knows that incorporeal beings only take half damage from corporeal sources using magical weapons. Channel energy and force spells like magic missile do full damage.
