Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
Was my Recall Knowledge roll a critical success? If so, I get a +1 to my next attack. I'll also convey the info to the group so they get the same +1.
My post got ninja'd and I see I lost initiative, so I doubt this will apply but I left it up anyway. I don't have any useful action in surprise round.
Seeing no way around the creature, Caelryl moves up to attack it.
Hunter's Edge: Flurry
Attack 1: 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 4 + 1 = 14

Playtest Pregen hits the ooze twice, but does not crit as it is immune as fire and lighting squirt chunks everywhere and it goes flying.
A gamer hits the ooze twice after moving towards it in surprise taking out chunks when it gets to his turn.
It will get to attack him first hit: 7 + 1d20 ⇒ 7 + (20) = 27
hit: 2 + 1d20 ⇒ 2 + (2) = 4 hit: -3 + 1d20 ⇒ -3 + (4) = 1
Don't worry, A Gamer, it ain't his turn yet so he didn't officially crit on you yet.
Rest of the heroes are up The creature has took 11 damage is taking 1 persistant fire damage and will take 11 more damage from A Gamer if survives that long/

Flint Thunderstriker -PT- |

Am I missing something or are we not using the map?
Flint strides forth, then closes just in time to strike with his hammer: ATK: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19 for DMG: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5 He then pulls back and swings again ATK: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (7) + 0 = 7

Heroes manage to get plenty of hits in, and even those rolling a 5, it survives until its turn, but dies of ongoing damage.
We are using the map, at the top of the page. Some people just haven't put themselves on the map yet.

AGamer70 Playtest |

Added missing tokens to map. FYI: Right click image > Copy image address > go to slides > insert image by url. That will get you the basic square token. There is a website that can create different shapes, like the round one Fumbus has, but I don't remember it off hand.
Caelryl nods with satisfaction. "Well done team. We handled that easily. Let's see what's down this passageway," he says pointing to the north. Once Atlas takes point, he falls into line behind Flint.

The pathfinders search the room, but find no treasure.
You go into the mudchewer central room. The walls of this long chamber are scorched dark, and the thick layers of soot crusting to the ceiling above attest to the tremendous fire that must have rage through this room in the past. Burial niches in the walls and the row of central pillars contain only fragments of burnt wood and charred bone.
You all hear something, or see a shadow of something. Or maybe you don't Perception checks everyone!
We are now using the digital map for better accuracy and convenience.

Playtest Pregen |

Perception: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
Fumbus looks around.

DoubleGold |

Zigrad notices bug sounds to the south, but flint and Thom notice goblins as well to the west.
You can't see them yet, but step into the red areas and you will.
You may keep your perception init or reroll for the next combat, as soon as someone steps in the red, combat and enemies added to map. You can activate both combats at once if you dare, the only advantage to that is that you will keep your init, like Flint might get a 1 roll for the next combat.

Playtest Pregen |

"Fumbus not hear anything, but Longshanks' talk is making Fumbus hungry. Which way to lunch?" asks the goblin.

AGamer70 Playtest |

Caelryl stops when Zig mentions bugs and then Thom mentions goblins. "Where? I don't here anything," he says looking around and preparing for battle with his swords drawn.
Are we keeping or re-rolling on an individual basis or as a group? If individually, I'll re-roll.
Initiative: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22

DoubleGold |

Rerolling is an individual thing. Zigurad only notices the bugs. Flint and Thom notice both. You are headed west. so you picked goblins.
init goblins: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 1 = 12 Anyone with higher init may act. You can't see them yet, but you can hear them. With the light, it is lowlight, though if you got darkvision you can see them without stepping into the red area.

Playtest Pregen |

"Goblins?" Fumbus inquires. "Maybe goblins making lunch!"
The goblin gleefully moves toward the western location.
Moved Fumbus to red area to get things started. He is not expecting combat.
Am I correct that the Perception rolls above count as the Initiative roll?

Playtest Pregen |

Um, 2 issues. 1. Goblins are to the west, beetles to the south. If Fumbus moves south, we will be fighting both groups at same time. 2. Flint appears to be attacking Fumbus.
Oops. Got disoriented. Typed westward, but moved token southward. Token location of Fumbus has now been corrected on map.

DoubleGold |

Flint hits a goblin hard nearly killing it, if only he hit it in the skull harder. Ziguard just cleaves one in half.

Rest of the heroes are up

Playtest Pregen |

As he watches the goblins get maimed and slaughtered by other party members, Fumbus protests, "Hey, goblins are NEVER going to give lunch to Fumbus now!"
The goblin Pathfinder releases a sigh and draws a pair of vials of alchemist's fire from his pack. He considers tossing one over the human's head, but then concludes that it would be easier, and that he would be more likely to hit something other than a fellow Pathfinder, if he just tossed one over the dwarf's head.
Throw (bomb): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10

The goblins shortbows and dogslicers on them. Combat over

Playtest Pregen |

"Goblins dead. Fumbus still hungry. Look for food now." The goblin wanders over to the southern passage, looking for something to eat.

AGamer70 Playtest |

Caelryl looks at Flint with concern and amazement. "How are you still standing after those attacks? We need to get you healed before moving on. Unfortunately, I'm of no help in that regard. Can you help him Zig?" he says looking over at the cleric.

Zigurad Nikhall |

Zig frowns, “Unfortunately I wasn’t blessed with the ability to heal, only harm and at the moment I don’t have any healing prayers readied. But I do know some simple treatments I learned over the years. If anyone else needs some aid please come here. if no one objects I will treat me, flint and 3 others for 10 mins.

While Zig tries to heal himself and Flint, Caelryl searches the room to their south. "Hmm, I wonder what happened here. Maybe this group of goblins fought these skeletons and the 2 we just fought survived this battle," he says as he searches the bodies and the room.
Once he is done and Flint is as healed as the group can get him, he moves over to where Fumbus is looking for food.
