Hearing the alarm and seeing the rush, Mistra is grateful that she regularly carries her quarterstaff and takes off with Aladair. She hopes to find a position from which she can help defend; while she does have a light crossbow, it is not nearly as effective in her hands as a quarterstaff.

Map loaded I used the original so every square equals 10 ft. We'll do our best to work with that for now

As Odo and his guards fight to support the main gate from being thrown open you see the two guards loose arrows at the gnolls outside. The guard to the north is about to say something when you watch as several arrows take him in the chest and neck. The force of the arrows causes him to fall to the ground below.

Odo shouts at two of the pressing their backs against the gate "Get Garren and take him back to Necromancer! Now!" As two of the townsguard grab their fallen ally you see as a group of gnolls clear the wall! Two quick successive blasts of the horn of the remaining guard in the watch tower causes Odo to roar back. "They are in the town!" Seeing your group he shouts at all of you, "Attack them and protect the town!"

Everyone in the party can make their move.

@Conner The gnolls are on top of the wall currently. Double moved forward to stand beside Mistra.

Currently yellow and orange are on top of the wall. You see that they each have a coil of rope in their hand and are armed with a bow and a spear.

The red gnolls are trying to force the gate open through sheer force. The town watch led by Odo are on the other side trying to resist this. I will roll an opposing strength check each round to see if the gate is able to stand.

Valghaz or anyone else helping at the gate. If you choose to stay at the gate you can use your action to help bolster the morale by making a Charisma check (DC 15) or you can help the guards by rolling a Strength check (DC 15). Succeeding at either will give the town guards advantage on their roll.

Party is up. Your turn.

The lone guard in the watch tower shouts down. "Another two coming up the wall!"

Two more gnolls join the first two gnolls and they quickly begin to loose their arrows at the party below while the other two gnolls scale down the wall. One arrow comes flying at Penance. Another comes Mistra's way. The former tears through Penance's robes drawing a gash across her thigh while the latter misses Mistra.

Mistra I made your action a Ready action vs yellow. Because it isn't your turn you can't use your bonus action as part of the Ready action.

As the two gnolls rappel down the wall Mistra strikes the wounded gnoll with her quarterstaff. There is a snapping sound when the staff hits the gnoll signalling that Mistra has broken one of the gnoll's bones.

Even with Valghaz doing his best to inspire the men at the gate the gnolls push it open enough to stab their spears at the guards in the frontline. Valghaz sees two of the watchmen fall to the gnolls' spear tips.

Odo shouts his voice almost bestial, "Come on keep it closed. These dogs won't be getting in here this day!"

Mistra swings at the gnoll with the other end of the staff. This one hits the creature in the underside of its snout as you watch a tooth fly from its mouth.

Surprised with the wave of attacks the gnoll does not see the hammer until its too late to react. Valghaz's attack lifts the taller gnoll clear into the air creating a loud bang as the hammer completely caves in the gnoll's ribcage. As its feet touch the ground the gnoll immediately drops. A stream of blood begins to flow out of its mouth.

Conner swings his sword the gnoll moves out of the way but is not nimble enough to dodge the incoming flail. The creature yipes as the flail barrels into the hip of the gnoll. The gnoll left without any support stabs at Conner. The spear point tears into Conner's side. Conner takes 4 damage

Penance throws another bolt of fire at the lone gnoll on the wall as the gate begins to groan with pressure from the gnolls outside. The fire hits the gnoll on the shoulder, whose attention is now focused on Conner. It again barks as the fire burns past its armor. The gnoll seeing itself outnumbered backs away and jumps off the wall it hits the ground hard but rises slowly. The gnolls bark in a chorus of displeasure at the injured gnoll but return their attention to the gate.

Aladair runs to the gate readying an arrow should the men at the gate fail to hold it shut. Throughout the town Valghaz's call urges on the men at the gate. But then there is a loud SNAP! as the left gate pushes in partially falling down on some of the town guards! The gnolls bark in triumph as they begin to rush into the town!

Aladair I gave you a ready action so you can fire your arrow as the gnolls begin pour into Zelkor's Gate

Party is up. And the gnolls are free to enter!

@Aladair You can make another attack with your bow. The first one I will take as a readied action since you only moved towards the gate in your previous action.

@Conner The gnoll used the disengage action so he does not incur AoO from movement. If you want to jump from the wall and land safely you'd need give me an athletics or acrobatics check DC12 or take 1d6 damage since the wall is 15 ft high. Let me know how you want me to proceed.

From her position in the back, Penance suddenly rushes forward to the gates, pushing past the guards to the gnolls surging forth. Her panicked face hidden by her hood, she prays to Ra as a perfect triangle of flame forms in her outstretched hands. There is a pause, and then a torrent of golden fire bursts forth towards the gateway!

I'll move as close as I can to the advancing gnolls, then cast Burning Hands! Dex DC 14 for the hynea-men.
Burning Hands Damage: 3d6 ⇒ (3, 6, 4) = 13
Nice! That's 13dmg to anybody who fails, and 6 to any who succeed. Also, the gate is now probably on fire. :/

Mistra makes it down the wall quickly and attacks the first gnoll that moves towards. Two timely successive strikes daze the gnoll causing it to fall back. At same time Conner dives from the wall landing awkwardly he drives his long sword straight through the wounded gnoll and finishing it off. A sharp pain shoots up his leg but Conner shakes it off and swings his flail at the next gnoll striking it squarely against its ribs.

Valghaz's confidence never waning he strides ahead bringing his hammer down upon the gnoll nursing its ribs. The hammer clips the exposed forearm causing the gnoll to yelp! Aladair launches another into the group of gnolls but misses.

Then unexpectedly Penance runs towards the gate and lets loose a burst of flames from her outstretched palms. The closest gnoll yellow is able to protect itself from the fan of flames, but the next gnoll orange behind it gets blasted with the full fan of flames.

You watch as Odo, now some bestial creature mauls the injured gnoll in front of him with vicious ferocity. The gnoll does all it can to stand and drive its spear at Odo. The spear skewers Odo right through his stomach! But as the gnoll pulls the spear out you see the wound instantly seal itself. The gnoll starts to bark frantically. From the rear, you hear the largest of the gnolls bark back sharply!

The gnoll in front of Valghaz stabs at the dwarf but trips on the dead gnoll behind as it tries to set its back foot. The next gnoll moves past the broken gate and stabs at Mistra. The mysterious woman easily blocks the attack with her quarterstaff. Another gnoll steps forward and drives his spear at Odo. This time the spear rips deep into the chest, but like similar to the previous hit the wound immediately seals up. The gnolls going into frenzy of barking!

Party is up.

Valghaz was not the kind of dwarf to go into a frenzy in battle, swinging this way and that. He fought like he forged. With patience and precision. The dwarf had clipped his gnollish opponent seconds before, and now lined up another blow. Wearing the enemy down swing by swing until he had beaten it into a more pleasing shape.
