I'm just going to move things along...apologies to those missing their turn
Raggnor manages to stab the zombie but fails to bite through its tough, leathery skin. Donovan movies in and strikes the same zombie hard across the back and it staggers, the light in its eyes growing dim, but not yet extinguished. Meanwhile, Horvan cleaves into the other zombie attacking Henyan, dealing a grievous but not quite lethal blow.
The zombie attacking Henyan turns towards Horvan, throwing a heavy punch...

Spear: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 191d6 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
| spectrevk |
With a mighty battle cry, Raggnor fells the zombie with a final thrust of his spear. The combined efforts of Kryas' and Liam's hail of arrows/bolts and Henyan's spear brings down the last zombie, leaving the forest clearing eerily quiet. Inside of the carriage, everything has bee throroughly tossed around but you catch a slight glint under the seat. Something shiny is down there.
Raggnor Grub
|
Raggnor cheers as the zombie falls to the ground."Woohoo! We did it guys."But then he gets distracted by something shiny and he goes over to investigate.
Issi Flamehair
|
"No." Issi says, crestfallen. "I should have brought one. I'm sorry."
Then Raggnor mentions something shiny and, as the smallest member of the group, Issi is the one who gets lifted into the carriage to investigate. She searches thoroughly - intent on finding all the 'clues' she can (as well as the shiny stuff!)
| spectrevk |
What Issi finds under the seat is a small jewelry box, apparently missed by the robbers. Inside, she finds what is presumably Lady Argentea’s signet ring, a pair of earrings worth 25 gp, a set of pearl-inlaid bracelets worth 90 gp, assorted gold and silver necklaces worth a total of 75 gp, and one sapphire pendant worth 50 gp.
| Horvan Urthadar |
Those are not ours Issa. They belong to the lady. Horvan scolds lightly. But then adds But I bet if we save her and give her back her jewelry I bet she will reward us.
Having bandaged Donovan's wounds as best he can he goes back and picks up the discarded sword, looking it over.
How much trouble will it be to get the breastplate off the frozen man? What other gear do we find among the dead?
Raggnor Grub
|
"I could buy a huge meat pie with all that shiny metal." He says helping Issi down from the carriage.
"I should put on my winter clothes on before we follow that trail of footprints deeper into the forest."Raggnor searches his backpack for a sheeps fleece which he puts on like a poncho he ties a belt round the waist and puts on a long pointed woollen red hat."That should keep the cold out."
| Donovan Dale |
"It hurth, but I can breath thru it now. If there are monthtorth then we need to find that lady."
Raggnor Grub
|
Raggnor moves over to the trail of footprints to figure out how many people there were and which direction to follow.

Kryas Azrin

People in town know you guys, i'm just the loner kid that lives up in the tavern. none of the adults really bother or question what i do as long as i'm not causing trouble. My parent's aren't exactly around anymore to say otherwise He seems surprisingly nonchalant about the whole situation at large, only time he's shown a bit of worry so far was when fey were mentioned.
perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20
Issi Flamehair
|
Issi climbs back into the carriage with her rucksack and emerges in a remarkably cute fur coat, complete with mittens, furred hood and matching boots.
"Mum brought them for me last year." She explains, "All the way from Irrisen! There are witches there!"
| spectrevk |
Once everyone is bundled up, you continue down the path and find that a rather obvious trail of horse and human tracks have been left behind, leading from the site of the attack to somewhere deeper within the forest. Following this trail doesn't take much in the way of tracking ability, as whoever made it made no real attempts to cover their tracks behind them.
Following the trail, you find yourself in another clearing before too long, with a wooden chest half-buried in the snow in the center of the clearing.
Raggnor Grub
|
Raggnor gets all excited at spotting the chest and is about to run over to it but he stops himself remembering the last time he opened something, he looks back at Issi. "Can i open it can i?" He begs to Issi with his big puppy dog eyes.
| Horvan Urthadar |
Anyone keeping track of what we have found? I wanted to make sure we took the nice clothes thinking that if/when we find this lady she might appreciate having some of her clothes back.
Go Ahead Raggnor. Horvan says with eager curiosity.
| Henyan Bridleback |
"Could be a trap, mum told me about a blimic? I think she be callin' it. Looks like a chest but will eat ya." Henyan says to Grub as he runs out.
I have not been no, is anyone good at setting up loot sheets? I can offer my G drive to do so
| spectrevk |
As Raggnor runs forward to the chest and flips it open, two things happen:
1. He realizes that the chest is empty.
2. A rope buried in the packed snow becomes suddenly visible as it grows taut, triggering a spiked log hidden among the trees, sweeping down to hit everyone in a 20 foot area:
Spiked Log Trap attack roll: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (10) + 10 = 20
damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
Raggnor is obviously in the danger zone, and it sounds like Horvan and Issi were also nearby. From Henyan's reticence about the chest, I assume he was keeping his distance? Feel free to clarify your position.
Raggnor Grub
|
Raggnor stagers up off the ground clutching his ribs and with blood dripping off his forehead. "ouch..What hit me, that's it I'm not going to open any thing again." He sit back on the ground sulking.
| spectrevk |
The force of the log also knocks the chest itself out of place, and you can all now see a pile of weapons and armor where the chest had been sitting. The pile contains five sets of leather armor, three sets of studded leather armor, a masterwork chain shirt, two light wooden shields, seven longswords, two spears, a masterwork dagger, and three light crossbows with a total of 25 bolts.
| Henyan Bridleback |
He was yes!
"NOOOOO!!!!! Henyan cries out as the Log hits his compnanions, Henyan rushes forward to help out if he can.
"That be a lot of things." Henyan says as he rushes to help
| Donovan Dale |
Donovan would have likely been in the area, and that would put the big teen down
| Horvan Urthadar |
Hmm. I posted but my post is missing. I'll try again. Unsure if Horvan would have been in the area. Was suspicious of a trap so would have held back. But 20 feet is a big area. Lets say 50-50. High and he was in the area.
In the area?: 1d100 ⇒ 42
Issi Flamehair

Issi takes a glancing blow from the log, but it still sends her spinning into the ground. She sits for a moment, stunned and then slowly gets up, tears rolling down her face. Thankfully her little fur coat is undamaged, if muddy.
1Hp... and trying not to cry.
