I just got a text from BrOp saying that he's a bit busy sailing in the Mediterranean on his private yacht eating cavier off his favorite model's toned tummy and drinking single-malt scotch while contemplating his latest movie deal.
Oops, wait, I mean he's not posted in his other campaign either. Stupid auto-correct. ^_^
While we're waiting here's my favorite video involving a boat. And booze.

Sorry for dropping off the radar for a week, folks. I'm in the middle of finishing work on an unannounced writing project that's due next week, and let's just say that my writing process is less than efficient. I will be back soon, I promise!

Allysen |

Hey, I'm opening up a recruitment thread for a short DnD 5e adventure if y'all are interested. The thread can be found here: A Dinner for Party of Five
I know this isn't the Savage Worlds game, but I'm stuck looking at all of the stuff I have to figure out crunch for and I'm just not feeling it. I'll need to slog through that, I know, but this time of year always makes it hard for me to stay motivated and upbeat.

Katherine Sunnymeadow |

I need to apologize to my GMs and players. I have less than two weeks to a local convention on which I serve as the Game Operations Director, overseeing the entire gaming room (which is the largest gaming floor in my area). I also have to make a trip to Dallas this weekend that cannot be avoided and I have possible jury duty starting on Monday next week. Anyway, I will update when I can. I haven't forgotten you, just been very busy.

GM BrOp |

Hi folks, I'm FINALLY back, sorry for the long delay. I had a combination of a writing deadline, a new house fiasco, and then my wife and I had our car totaled (while we were in it). We're thankfully both fine, but I've been dealing with the insurance stuff, plus trying to find a new car. I could have been more in touch, and I'm sorry for that, but things have calmed down again.
Is everyone still around and interested in playing?

Allysen |

Oh man, that's a lot to have happen. I hope everything's working out alright.
I'm still around, as are most of the others I think. Atlas2112 seems to have been swallowed up by real life over the past few days, though.

That sucks, dude. That sucks more than anything that has ever sucked before.
Glad you're recovering nicely!

BrOp - how do you like the new gang-up rules in SWADE? "Each ally adjacent to the defender cancels out one point of Gang Up bonus from an
attacker adjacent to both."
Looking at the map, I *think* none of the gnolls get a gang-up bonus, except for against Belros. He is surrounded by 4, but Allysen cancels one, and MWG cancels another, leaving 2 unaccounted for, which is a +1 gang-up bonus.
OW, my head hurts!

2 people marked this as a favorite. |

Okay, I'm back. The con was great, but very tiring! We had about 1500 unique visitors, which is pretty good for a convention our size. Guests included Morgan Berry (voice actress), Jay Little (gaming guest), Brendan LaSalle (from Goodman Games), and fantasy artist/gamer Melissa Gay. I found time to run two original Savage Worlds adventures (a fantasy jaunt titled "The Banshee's Tower" and a Weird War II adventure called "The Dogs of War"). Jay Little signed my copies of Age of Rebellion and Edge of the Empire and Brendan signed my copy of How to Write Adventure Modules That Don't Suck. All in all, a good weekend! I'll be getting back into the swing tomorrow.

GM BrOp |

Out of a sense of shared community, I'd like to ask some questions if I may.
Are you staying at home or still working? How's it going, and where do you live?
I'll go first.
I live in Oregon and have been home with my son since his school was cancelled. I'm currently unemployed, but my wife is still working. Thankfully it's a very small office so her risk of exposure is low. We've limited out access to others and no longer go to places with large groups of people, but have been taking nice walks on our own or with a friend of my son's. So far so good.

Wolfram Argyle |

We're in NW Washington and I work from a home office so social distancing is a way of life. No known cases in our county yet, thankfully, and we are relatively remote on the peninsula.

Katherine Sunnymeadow |

I'm in south Mississippi, as far south as you can go without getting your feet wet. My wife and I are both disabled and do not work. We don't get out and about unless the situation calls for it (i.e., to pick up supplies) because her elderly father (who also lives with us) is at risk and we don't want him to get it. It hasn't stopped me from taking my two-mile daily walk, though.

Lord Belros Sunwalker |

We're on the west coast of Ireland, with cases in the county. Both of us normally work in offices but have both been told by employers that we can work from home. So far, so good.

Allysen |

Central Alabama here. The first confirmed case in the state was in Montgomery, and I live/work in Prattville, which is just north of there. Thankfully, there hasn't been any more confirmed cases in our area, but there's been a number throughout the state. I work in IT and more specifically, I'm the guy that sets up the remotes for everyone, so all of the business that have us as their IT are now wanting people to be able to work from home, and that means I'm about to be busy like crazy.

GM BrOp |

Thanks to everyone who has shared so far. I find that reaching out to others is very important when many of us are so isolated. It can all get a bit overwhelming.

Allysen |

Sorry for holding up the action, but I'm a little, okay, a lotta, confused. I thought the others booked it out of the cave after the fright spell. Was that not the case?

GM BrOp |

Nope, do you want to change your action? The only person who is running is Katherine.

Allysen |

Yup, instead of running, she'd have stayed. I thought I was about to be the only one in a room full of angry pirates.
And it's a dang shame that illusion failed. I thought I did pretty good on it.

GM BrOp |

It was a great illusion (and post), but sadly all you have to do to disbelieve it is a successful Smarts check and they rolled really well.

GM BrOp |

Just wanted to invite all of you into the planning stages of a new game I am considering. I'm looking to play something new/old. Check it out if you have a bit of extra time these days: LINK

Wolfram Argyle |

I think we're really missing the whole point of this part of the adventure if we leave now. Maybe I'm wrong, but then what's the harm in waiting to find out?

Lord Belros Sunwalker |

There is also the idea of knowing when to call a halt for the day.
I don't necessarily think we've reached that point but we are certainly not at full strength.
So, Belros is going to try to get some information.

Katherine Sunnymeadow |

Can we lure some of them to us somehow? Maybe reduce their numbers?

GM BrOp |

Just to clarify, as far as you know these are just smugglers bringing in goods so whoever buys them doesn't have to pay the import tax. They're not bringing in slaves or drugs or anything like that. Yes, they're braking the law, but they aren't necessarily evil ... as far as you know.

Wolfram Argyle |

Well, there is also an Undead component which seems unlikely to be coincidence.
When we get back to town, we do not want our captives to have any contact with anyone outside of the jailor. If word gets out about the ship and the rendezvous it could jeopardize our chance to investigate the Sea Ghost.

The undead were behind a barred door that said "Danger". It's unlikely that the smugglers created the undead.

Allysen |

Yup, it was probably the dead wizard we found in the room beyond the one with the undead in that made them.
That said, I think Belros, Isagoras, and Wolfram have scared Allysen a bit. She's certainly shaken by Wolfram's performance, and the harshness of Belros and Isagoras came as a bit of a shock, even after the encounter with the thief.
Should be fun playing this out. :D

Lord Belros Sunwalker |

The pdf got updated, and there's a file just showing the changes too. I imagine drivethrurpg is much the same.
