** ROOM 4 **
As you round the corner you see a statue of a halfsnake, half-human creature covered in Thassilonian runes.
The folded arms of the female creature’s torso hold a quill and a whip. Six wings grace her back, and her lower body is a coiled serpent.
In place of her head, a disk with a seven-pointed star, each point with a different rune, completes the amalgamation. The statue faces a huge circular door embossed with the same seven-pointed rune.
It detects magical.
You identify the statue as a depiction of Lissala.
The whip and quill that the statue is holding are not made of stone like the rest of the statue.
The rest of the room is empty, there's a caved in entrance to the east. The room does look like it has been cleaned recently.

Arnold ambles into the room, still in his pouch. "The sculpture's whip and quill aren't part of it," he says, pointing them out with a lance. "Maybe we can get them out. But until someone better versed in magic makes sure they're safe, I'm not touching them."

I moved Ingrgre, Colin and Doormouse minis in the room
Winds doesn't touch anything but have her bow ready when she moves to see what's beyond the statue.
The Doormouse
|
Thanks for the assist Winds! To our GM's point I don't roll perception usually, when I look at things its just to get a look at what is obviously there since I am terrible at those things. At this level if something is hidden I will not find it. I will however do so moving forward.
Perception: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (7) - 1 = 6
Doormouse raises an eyebrow at Spackle and looks back at the statue, cocking her head in hopes that she the new view will give her a better idea of what she is looking at. "Mr Spackle, how does she wear a hat?"
Spackle McGapfiller

He laughs a little at the question. "A hat? Well, she just...uh...I mean ...or ah...hmmm. " A bit stymied, "Oh how am I fer knowin' 'ow she wears a hat? Maybe she don't. Ever think o' that?"

Arnold moves to all the possible routes forward in this room, gingerly poking around doors with his lance. If the way west from here is viable, he beckons everyone to follow him through. "Otherwise, we'll double back and take the northern door?"

Doormouse looks the statue up and down and pulls out a length of rope. That lady is too tall to climb up. I'm not doing that. Whips are boring, but that quill on the other hand...I want it. She ties the rope into a slip knot and casts Mage Hand to lift the rope around the magic quill and gets ready to tightens it. "But if she doesn't wear a hat then how does she keep her head dry when it rains?"

Doormouse is able to free the quill from the statue and has it in their possession now.

** ROOM 3 **
Wind and Arnold move forward and look into the next room.
This bas-reliefs on this chamber's walls depict Lissalan liturgical practices. Acolytes bowing to statues and altars, clergy branding themselves with the Sihedron rune, and flagellations are a common theme.
This room is largely empty, but the floor has large patches stained brown ...
You have been adventuring long enough to realize that this is dried blood on the ground.
Looking at the walls it is obvious that these blood stains come from the many years worshipers came here to flagellate themselves in worship of Lissala.

Suddenly, Wind, Arnold, Ingrge and Doormouse see a shadowy figure move through the wall into the room ... it sways and moves with an erratic grace, as if lit by an unseen fire.
Only Ingrege is fast enough to react and the others are completely surprised!
Greater shadows are those undead shadows that have come to be particularly infused with negative energy, such as those that have spent vast lengths of time in areas of the Plane of Shadow awash in negative energy, or those that have drained the lives of thousands of victims.
For every 5 above 18 you have a question.
The shadowy figure extends its claws and tries to hit Arnold ... it is unbelievable but when the incorporeal shadow's essence touches the Wayang his whole body is in a state of shock and his knees start to tremble.

@Ingrege: I asked in the PFS rules section on discord and the answers that you would know it is incorporeal! So all good! :-)

Although Wind has cover from Arnold the blinded Shadow cannot hide!
The combined attacks of the Pathfinders tear the shadows essence apart...

After such efforts, Winds is fatigued for a dozen seconds but quickly recovers.

And asks to her comrades Do you know what was that?
The Doormouse

Don't worry Winds, I got him." Doormouse tottles over to Arnold and looks him over, a worried look crossing her face before vanishing and being replaced by a look of confusion, which is normal for her. "Wow. I've never seen whatever you are but you look terrible! Stupid silly shadows sap strength. That's what grandpa used to say." She fumbles around in her bag for a few moments and removes a wand that looks a bit like a taxidermied squirrel that was turned inside out and covered in googly eyes. "This is Penelope and she can make your boo-boos better. Hold still while I rub her on your body!

Arnold sags even as he prepares to strike back. By then, the shadow has been torn asunder. This gives him a few moments to ruminate on his ever-growing hatred of undead.
"Ugh...ha ha, stay strong," the wayang says weakly. He performs a half-decent flex to check his status. "I can still fight, looks like, just not nearly as well. It came out of nowhere and I wasn't ready enough for it. Sorry. If I see any more of these, they might beat out mummies for my least favorite foe."
Looks like I'm at 14 Strength now? Thanks for the charges! I need to pick up more Lesser Restoration items on my next shopping trip; it's getting to be that level.

More charges are coming, but with its casting time being what it is I don't want to dump them out all at once right after combat in case something happens.

By the time Spackle levels an arrow, the threat is already eliminated. "Suren thet could'a been a lot more'n worse. Nice quick work all."

Arnold throws a quick one-two punch with obvious power behind it. He's elated enough at the sudden change to ignore the creepy wand. "Wow, my thanks! I'd never begrudge you a chance to take her for a whirl. We should probably wait until after this is done, though, like you said."
Thanks again! Should be good before that last charge is used, I think.
| GM Nowruz |
You hear the Shoanti womens' voice and they are clearly crying and sobbing.
Spackle can see the bald Shoanti shaking his head ... he obviously threw up in the corner of the hallway.
When the Taldan noble enters again he speaks up and he is deeply shaken.
”We have no idea what is happening here but these signs of agony were so horrible that I wish I would have died to stop feeling the pain ... we saw nothing here!“
Assume that around four minutes have passed from the time before you entered the room with the statue.
You check the room with the shadow thoroughly but find nothing else of interest or that could be dangerous to you!
Nonetheless, this room’s walls depict such atrocities that it is hard to look at any of the carvings on the walls as you understand what kind of cruelty many innocent people had to face in here ... and that many were murdered in this room and that you are standing on their dried blood!
The Doormouse

Letting food fall on the ground. What a waste. Doormouse slips away to gain distance from the horrific scene. The ambiance of this chamber does affect her as much as it probably should, a fact that is lost on her. At least for now.
