Tybalt seems very confused for a moment, but notes the immediate distaste in his choices. He doesn't take a care for it - he knows he has chosen the only path before him, and embraced it for better or worse.

When a man walks down and greets them, he nods to him slowly, though his words take on a different tune.

"What do you mean, 'we'll be waiting a long time'? Is the man dead, or captured? He's who I came here for, to start with."

The templar moved to remove his hood, letting short blonde hair loose. He had a look on him that almost needed an answer, as though the matter were suddenly very, very important.

Male Shiranai Superstitious Urban Barbarian 4

Jeger nods to the man as he walks by, starting to wondering if the request for aid was going to be a mutual one. Turning to the man beside him, "It's unusual to see a man of your faith here. If I may ask, what errand pulls you up here?"

"Very well," Lindynt tells the knight as he pulls his gauntlet off, revealing the sweaty flesh beneath. "Vault. I offer you my blood and the prized weapon of a worthy foe. This tribute is yours to do as you see fit." He stands at the door with his naked hand and the demon's flaming glaive outstretched.

The Vault door looks like it's made of wood but it is actually metal, a dark metal and you notice there is a whole to place your hand in. Once you place it in the whole closes around your hand and you feel as if your hand is being chewed on for a moment, you feel the pain of it, but one your hand comes out you see not cuts or even bruises just the pain as if it had really happened.

Spoiler:
The vault opens like an old gate with creaking and moaning, as old chains pull it up. The inside is dark and there is no light until you step in lights of a magical kind begin to shine with each step, you can see some jewelry and what would seem to be a fortune in gold and silver coins, but in the end of the small vault it is still darkened until you get close enough. and a roaring flame lightens up. You notice there are three walls around the fire, weapons, armors and shields.

Armors:
Scales covering the torso and hips, with plate protection for the greaves, poleyn, sabaton and gauntlets. The barbute helmet has the back made of scale mail instead of plate and has two small horn that point backwards giving it a small resemblance to a drake like creature. There are for armor which seem to represent a “dragon” of different colors.

This metal suit includes, gauntlets, heavy leather boots, a thin tabard, barbute helmet. Adorned with white fur around the edges of the helmet and below the spiked left shoulder armor, having a smaller shoulder armor on the right side. This armor is of white color and silver trims, and the tabard is red.

This metal suit includes, gauntlets, greaves and a sallet helmet that resembles a skull that ends in fangs on the front and a gorget that represents the fanged jaw making the completed skull. This armor is black and silver trims.

Weapons:
This longsword has a light blue edge with a bright red crystal that runs along the middle of the blade, and a bronze colored hilt. It is warm to the touch.

This longsword has a white blade with a bright golden crystal were the blade touches the hilt, and a silver colored hilt. You can feel a soothing calming aura when you touch it.

This pistol has a unique design. It has a barrel and a small rectangle underneath it and a straight handle to it.

Shields:
A shield that has an axe head as part of the shield on one side and armor scales on the other. There is also a heavier version of this shield that usually has spikes instead of an axe head. Drake shields weight as if they were made of wood instead of steel.

Black colored shields with silver or white trims, with sinister designs made to intimidate the opponents.

The flames begins to speak "I shall tell you their names and stories if you ask of me... master...

You hear the slab of metal that represent the Vaults door close.

Jeger will take advantage of the offer of more comfortable accommodations, not wanting to be in the way of the hallway traffic while he waits. Speaking to the Tybalt, "Come, good sir, let us get out of the way of these good guards. We shall get our answers soon enough, I suspect, and will probably wish we had not, if the scene around us is any indication."

The guard clears his throat as to signal something "I'm afraid all the Red Keep will have similar "features" for the time being, but we will accommodate you in a small area for resting in the castle grounds" as the guard will lead you when you area ready.

Male

Tybalt noted what was said, if not more, and when queried on his purpose here, he gave a light smile, and looked around once more before settling on his compatriot's face.

"I came here, because I have history with this family. Or, the one that was in power. I have other reasons, of course, but they are my own for the time being. Can't be too careful when we have... mixed relations."

It's clear he isn't comfortable seeing the creatures working with them, but he obviously has no say. He follows the other man, and the guards along, trying to not get frustrated with the fact that nobody has a straight answer here, except 'wait'.

Male Shiranai Superstitious Urban Barbarian 4

Jeger follows the guard, taking in the full extent of the "decorations" with an ever increasing frown. "That is certainly true, though one of your background being overly secretive will end up drawing a fair amount of attention, even if the secretiveness is entirely valid." Aside from watching the scene, he seems quite relaxed, and used to having to wait.

Guards do not say a word, but the courtesy they extend to Jeger as if from royalty while they treat Tybalt with only the necessary amount of courtesy.

"We shall bring you proper refreshments while the Lord is getting ready to receive you." as the little garden or whats is left of it on the side of the keep seems it would have been rather peaceful but the inevitable scars of war can be seen here and there.

and then he was gone.

Winding down the halls towards where the guards said the vault was, Vance arrives just in time to see Lindynt's arm come out of some sort of keyhole and the massive doors open.

"Impressive."

Vance will try to follow unless he's told not to.

That is up to Lindynt of course ^^ as the vault will allow it if he does.

Akela are you alive somewhere ^^ you are interacting with the kobolds?

"To say the least," the freshly penned 'Lord' replies as he scans his hand fruitlessly for an indication of what had affected him. "Care to follow, old friend?" Lindynt asks the mage as he steps inside the Vault, waiting only until it's gate left enough room for him to duck under.

After giving his eyes a moment to adjust to the darkness he begins edging his way around the walls, studying the various pieces of equipment. He lifts the white bladed sword from it's resting place and gives it a few practice swings through the air to test it's weight and balance. "Tell me of this sword, Vault. What is it's story?"

“In your hands rests the subjugator of evil, the exalted wrath, avenger of the abused and meek... Lawreaver”

This longsword has a white blade with a bright golden crystal were the blade touches the hilt, and a silver colored hilt. You can feel a soothing calming aura when you touch it.

A sword wielded as a symbol of justice by the successive heroes of a forgotten kingdom. The blade was imbued with powerful magic so that any who fought for justice would be blessed.

The first hero was a great general who smashed an invading army from foreign lands. He killed a score of enemy soldiers by his own hand.

The second hero was a great warlord who defended his country from mutinous rebellion. He captured each and every one of the mutineers and, by his own hand, carried out their sentence of death.

The last known hero was a king who invaded and colonized a foreign land. In this conquered country, he ordered the massacre of tens of thousands of innocent lives. He was found dead on his throne the next day with the sword deep in his chest.

On the swords I got a typo lol should be:
This longsword has a light red edge with a bright red crystal that runs along the middle of the blade, and a bronze colored hilt. It is warm to the touch.

You would need to ask for more specific things to know the weapons properties and material, or try it out yourselves ^^.

Akela sweeps into the receiving room where Jegar and Tybalt already wait.
He still wears the the same faded blue robes and Wolf pelt, but the day old bloodstains have obscured much of the original color.

Taking a seat oppostite the pair, he speaks calmly,m
I am sure you must have many questions. The Lord Auroral will be here shortly, but for the moment perhaps I can allay some of your concerns.
I am Akela the Wolf, a Blue Mage.

"You've got a couple serious looking fellows waiting for you in the main hall, by the way. One of them said he was looking for Reinholdt."

Tybalt sighs for a moment, then relaxes against a wall. The man had a point, but he'd do what he could to explain.

"I'm here because I used to come here often, when I had reason to. To find the place stained with blood is upsetting, and nearly causes me to wonder - now that the man answered me earlier - who killed him, and so on?"

Almost as soon as he finishes speaking, a man walked in he'd never seen before. Another one, as it were. He took his time to inspect him, nodded, and cleared his throat.

"Akela. About Lord Auroral. Who is he, and why is he in charge? Was it he who led to the death of Reinholdt? I pray your answer is enough to sate my questions, ser."

His tone is obvious that he attempts to be calm, but has personal issue over this.

Human Blue Mage 4

Lord Auroral is the legitimate heir of Reinholdt, and before then was his staunch defender. Before our arrival, a section of the keep's guards rebelled against Reinholdt and seized the castle. Then-Knight Auroral rallied our small band to Reinholdt's aid and retook the Keep. It was in this fight that Reinholdt's life ended.

As the servant returns with wine, Akela pauses to pour a glass. Taking a draught, he continues, speaking deliberately.
The beastmen were likewise divided, one faction allying with the rebels, and their legitimate leader here, He gestures beside him has sided with us. We have agreed to a truce pending official discussion.
Noting the unease in the men before him, Akela tops off their glasses.
You will, of course be able to examine Auroral's claim. It is legitimate, and will stand scrutiny. Furthermore you will hear the full details of this incident shortly. I would like the rest of our gathering to be present before we continue much further.

Male Shiranai Superstitious Urban Barbarian 4

"This is troublesome news, and the chieftain will not be entirely pleased. Civil war is not needed in this time of trouble; of course, there really is no good time for it, but now is certainly not one of the better times." Jeger is thoughtful as he takes in the blue mage's words.

Dark Archive

GM W.R. Monger

The kobold stands proud and as tall as he can (which isn't very much for a creature of his size). "War is coming and the beastmen are being united by someone, those who rebel against them are killed or forced into labor. I am one of those rebels." the kobold for the first time has spoke clear Romandan that he surprises himself and gives a vow of almost worship to Akela.

Jeger you know that what the kobold speaks is something without presedent and almost impossible, for they fight against each other as much as they fight your people. The news of this "war" does kind of sparks your curiosity about it.

"Other man packs are doing the same, they are more animal and attack other man packs." as he points at Jeger "I have seen it, great dark spirited alpha males lead them."

Lindynt sheaths Lawreaver and tucks it into his scabbard belt, "This should do for now. Any who recognize the blade should see it as a symbol of what I hope to accomplish as I sit upon Reinholdt's throne."

Vance Lodune wrote:
"You've got a couple serious looking fellows waiting for you in the main hall, by the way. One of them said he was looking for Reinholdt."

"Then let us pray he's a religious man," he replies with a bit of uncertainty. "I imagine it will be easier to tell them that he was mortally wounded fighting a demon than it would to tell them he ascended with the Gods. No matter, we should not keep them waiting for much longer."

Lindynt starts for the door but pauses after a few steps. He then takes the strait handled pistol from the wall by the barrel and offers it grip first to Vance. "We have endured a lifetime's worth of hardship in these past three days. Take this as a token of gratitude for standing by me to see this through."

"Vault. Tell us of this weapon's history and afterwards let us leave the confines of your walls."

Master... as you command...

“In your hands rests swift death, weight of power, mark of death ... Widowmaker”

This pistol has a unique design. It has a barrel and a small rectangle underneath it and a straight handle to it.

The weapon's forger is lost in history, but his creation was in the hands of a wanderer, and with each shot he killed a man, paving a street with corpses of those who would not let him wonder.

The second owner used it to vanquish his enemies with the sheer weight of his power, laying waste to countless enemies with it.

The third owner was a traveling men of faith that used it to defend himself from evil. One day he killed a petty lord, tyrant and amongst many other crimes and yet his victory felt empty, because his family would weep his passing, for he was not entirely evil in his heart making him think of how many other have been that he never know like this.

Does the master wishes to know more of any other thing... I have consumed knowledge of all kinds...

He is basically like a Bardic Knowledge thing that can tell you about most anything you bring in the vault, but you now the rules. You also have Reinholdt's sword which is a family heirloom so it also counts to be left there for another trip you might have into the vault.

Cool. That's a pretty neat tool to have.

"I've heard all that I need to hear right now but I'm sure that I will be back if I find myself in need of your expertise," he tells the Vault realizing only now how strange the magic behind the device is.

After exiting the Vault Lindynt hastily marches down the corridors of the Red Keep. When he arrives at the receiving room where Akela and his guests have taken rest, he stops abruptly and announces himself without waiting for one of his guards to present him. "I am Lord Lindynt Auroral," he states firmly but without aggression as he scans the faces of the two strangers before him; his bloodstained red cloak licking like fire in the wind as it wraps behind his battle scared armor, the insignia of a lion's head, though scratched and bruised, remains clear. "I am Lord of the Red Keep and all lands and people sworn to it. If either of you have any words or business reserved for Reinholdt Rammsteiner, you will instead address them to me." He stands erect in the doorwary, looking from Jeger to Tybalt and back again as he awaits a response.

The symbol seems appropriate. He's Order of the Lion and FF8 is my favorite in the series... and now everyone who loves 7 just put me on their hate list :-(

Dark Archive

GM W.R. Monger

Hahahaha my favorite is Final Fantasy Tactics over all other ones

Male Shiranai Superstitious Urban Barbarian 4

I'd have to go with 7, than tactics, than all of the others, myself, as far as the overall game is concerned. The others had their strengths, but the game as whole just failed to grab me and pull me in to the same degree.

Jeger looks over the apparent new lord of the manor, trying to figure out the how best to shape his questions and business with very little to go on. Deciding to match bold for bold, as befits a proper warrior, the massive man speaks in a deep and clear voice, "I am Jeger Warstout, emissary from Chieftain [name] of the Sharanai, come to affirm our pact of alliance and friendship. If you are the lord here now instead of Reinholdt Rammsteiner, than you are indeed the man that I have come to do business with." Jeger's armor, and weapons, though simple, make it clear that he is no stranger to battle himself, though the prominence of a 3 piece staff on his back is not what many would expect for a weapon of choice.

Let's call the Chieftain Rougan forgot to "provide" the name.

With some form of distaste for what has occurred, Tybalt notices the man who walks forward - and notes the demeanor given. He seems very disgruntled at something that has been said to him, at first glance, and he uncrosses his plated arms, moving forward to him. He does not speak boldly, but rather, with some form of passion.

"I will not stand idly further, 'Lord' Auroral. I need answers as to why Reinholdt has been slain, and the reasoning behind it. So far, all my answers point to you - so I ask you plainly, as a man and not a patron of the Church; were you the one who slew Reinholdt Rammsteiner, and therefore found it right to take his home to be your own?"

His plated armor clinks slightly with every movement. The templar seems very on-edge, almost as if offended by the mere thought of what he's said. His face is very caught up in emotion, for a man of faith.

Nothing beats out Tactics. 8 comes closest, followed by 9, but Tactics completely - I even have a modded version to increase difficulty.

Vance tucks Widowmaker into his belt as he leans against a wall and listens to the conversation in the main hall. When the knight became aggressive with his accusations Vance couldn't help himself. It started with a low chuckle, but built into a full throated laugh.

"Heh heh hahahaha."

"If you think he killed Reinholdt it sure wouldn't be very bright to walk right into the audience chamber and challenge his authority, now would it?"

"Reinholdt died keeping one of the Lucavi from crossing over into our world. Right after that he was taken by Freia herself to help do in the heavens what he tasked us with doing down here. Lindynt is the successor here because the Goddess of Flame herself wants him to be. You think you have a stronger claim than that?"

Male Shiranai Superstitious Urban Barbarian 4

Jeger just rolls his eyes a bit at both the priest and the laughing answer to it. He's beginning to think that he's gotten himself deep in something he may come to regret; between the alliance with the beastmen, and all this talk about the gods as if they had a personal interest in what happened here, he was starting to wonder if the chief was going to believe his report. "I'm sure the priest just isn't used to the intricacies of these matters that often prohibit immediate answers."

Lindynt raises an open palm to his knights, momentarily staying their hands, but doesn't remove his eyes from Tybalt's. "The fact of the matter stands that Reinholdt Rammsteiner sustained grievous injury when battling an... otherworldly creature. In his final moments on this world he appointed me as the successor to his throne seeing as he had produced no true heir. Lord Vance Lodune has told you of the event's leading up to Reinhold's death and I have told you of the current circumstances of my charge," he states resolutely as he strides forward to greet the naysayer, his hand resting comfortably on Lawreaver's gilded hilt. "You have yet to give me your name, 'ser'. Patron of the Church or not, tell me why I should not have you imprisoned for your insubordination?"

Intimidate: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19

The responses were wide and far, and the amount of disrespect given is probably earned - though it was returned in ways that declared other intentions, and he frowned lightly upon them as though undeserving of such words.

He does note the hand upon the weapon's hilt by the claimant, aware of what could go next - and found no reason to draw or reach for his. It seemed... awkward that he might have this thrust upon him so.

I'm better than this. Why do I allow them to do as they will? Probably because in the end, who we worship or serve will not matter. We live, and we die - how, though, is something we must determine for ourselves. I've my faith behind me, at all times. Praise Belias.

"As much as I question the circumstances, it is apparent everyone is eager to simply let it be as it is - however, the family here were friends of mine, and I wish to see that their name is not tarnished nor removed without just cause. If you can understand that, then we can move on.

"I have not given my name because it was not requested. As I said, I asked as a personal affair, not as the Church - a distinction I'd hope you might have seen. I am Tybalt, a templar of the Church of Glabados, and I seek to conduct more research upon the faith of Romanda, and its teachings. There may be ways to reduce this divide, though they will not be easily gain'd."

He clears his throat, and sighs. "However - your talking of mythical demons and their appearance is very interesting, though. Are you entirely sure of what you saw?"

Unfortunately, I don't think you can intimidate players. That's what interaction is all about, and half the fun of convincing someone that you're right!

Vance turns to one of the guards and says "Go get Alaire. Tell him I said to bring the stone."

Looking back to the Templar he says "We're in this room because the great hall isn't exactly cleaned up yet. You're a churchman, you can take a look at what we walked into, and where Reinholdt ascended, and you can tell us then if you think I know what I saw."

Human Blue Mage 4

"We are quite confident at this point, and Im afraid they are far less mythical than I would like. But we have actually come to glean what we can from a source who has, perhaps, more insight on the subject."

Male Shiranai Superstitious Urban Barbarian 4

"While I do not doubt your words, as I have already seen much that gives me reason to believe you, I do hope you have something you can use to prove your position, otherwise my report is going to be rather difficult to swallow back home. You must admit that an alliance with beastmen and the old lord ascending to the heavens are not precisely common occurances." Jeger tries to smooth the ruffled feathers, as things are already bizarre enough without having potential allies trying to yell at each other.

Sorry for the delay, for some reason Father's Day meant I was even busier than normal. Tybalt - I didn't expect any significant roleplay value from the Intimidate roll, it was primarily to set the tone. I apologize for any confusion.

"Reinholdt Rammsteiner defended his lands and his people to the last of his breath from a threat unlike any I have witnessed before my arrival here," Lindynt begins to explain with loosely restricted severity. "You need only take another look around to see the extent of destruction caused by the evil that accursed this fortress, mind you it would merely be a fraction of the comparative damage sustained to the entirety of these lands. As an anointed Fenrisian Knight, it was my duty to protect and serve Lord Reinhold as he reclaimed this castle from it's unnatural usurper; an undertaking that would claim the lives of many of men, among them: your friend and my charge.

"The passing of his titles was an unexpected honor given by a man worthy of his station. Rest assured that I will not forget of these roots or the man that made them possible. That is all I have left to say on this matter and I will NOT have my position questioned again. Is that enough to sate your concerns?"

Tybalt silently nods to Lindynt and you all follow behind Alaire as you go back to the tower were you were researching the object.

The first thing you see is Ser Gillem holding the gem as it pulses in his hand with a soft purple light.

Ser Gillem... says Alaire as he approaches him "How are you feeling? Does it speak to you? Is there something different?

Ser Gillem look as if he was a figure of Authority emanating a strong aura that you feel compelled to not lie to him as it looks like he can looks right into your hearts.

"I am fine, I never craved for much in life but to serve m'lord... as he looks at the gem in his hand "but now... Emel-Tsech has spoken to me"

Male

It's fine! No confusion! I did it a lot myself with a rogue in a PnP game, and he gave a less-than-pleasant response in turn, which is why I tried to be polite about it. On another note, jobhunting is exhausting.

Tybalt listened, and weighed the options, and then chuckled lightly after everything - mostly at the last words that were used by the Lord who had taken over in Reinholdt's place.

The templar moved to lean against the wall again, and stopped his awkward humor, recomposing himself before he resumed.

"You need not convince me of your 'position', merely the gains of which you'd acquired it. The outburst was unneeded. I have enough information to attest that you are probably being honest with me - but I am not your vassal. I'm merely here to do research, and now that you speak of the unknown and myths, from what I have heard, you may want my assistance. I offer it, whether you take it or not I leave to you - but I will see this for myself, since you offer it."

He begins to walk after the rest of them, and makes sure he keeps enough safe-distance so he can keep an eye on the rest.

He seems to lack confidence, forcing his way into politics. He could learn a lot from being more patient with those who question him, than biting their heads off.

Insert this before Deiros' post.

I do not know what this means, I only know that this is not the only gem there are 13 others and they can be multiple copies of them, he said something of an army of light and darkness." with some fear in his voice "Am I... chosen to die like Mr. Reinholdt... Become a creature of the abyss... He tells me otherwise... but I..." as he falls silent to his won words and collapses on a chair zoning out thinking his new path now chosen for him.
